Someone call a Nurse

Well I have been using the snippets again, this time I found some bits in the neutral folder and decided to use them with this gorgeous image by Heather Ellis. This image could be used for get well cards as well so very versatile too. I bought a corner rounder at the Taunton craft show and have been using it on every piece of card since lol, lots of rounded corners in my future I think. I loosely followed a mojo monday sketch and think I will try that again.

Snippet card

I am definitely finding the reorganisation of my snippet draw a benefit, I found all the items for this card in there. My craft room is a mess at the moment though as I try to sort it into a working space as I have stuff all over the
place and have never really organised it properly. I bought one of those rolling carts  and although I thought I only had a few 12 x 12 packs I have managed to fill all 10 draws and couldn't fit another pad in. I found the
pads all over the place and in some quite unusual places too so it will be nice to be able to actually see what I have and maybe it will stop me buying more...unlikely but you never know.

So onto the card, I have used a fab stamp, perfect for paper piecing too, from MFT called "Geek Guy", as soon as I saw this I knew I had to get it as so many of my family are into their computers I knew I would get lots of use out of it.

I have used a new, well to me anyway, piece of equipment on this card, as I have been laid up with my knee I have been watching lots of you tube and a few presenters in particular. Amy R uses a Stampin Up Mat Stack to position her brads and I had to have one, placed an order with Jules and it arrived really quickly and it has already been put to use.

Retro Phones

Birdie Brown has two fabulous phones as freebies this month, I love these images so much cheeky character in them, I couldn't decide which one to use so used them both lol. I have previously used Robot Boy on this card and so I couldn't not enter the challenge for the chance to win a free digi could I. I have my eye on a few at the moment am especially loving the ice creams.

I made hello cards for my friends and have sent them with an invite for a coffee catch up, used a snippet of patterned paper and got both from the same snippet too. I just realised these entire cards are made from freebies, the cards were free with a recent purchase, the papers were from a free kit and the images were free too.

Copic Marker Europe 1st Birthday

Hello everyone, firstly apologies for being MIA, I have been creating but taking photos in the dreary light has been almost impossible, secondly I wanted to say hi to my new followers  ((big waves)) and to thank them for wanting to follow my little blog

You may notice a new badge in my sidebar, I have been certified, not as clinically insane although I do sometimes wonder about that but Copic certified. I spent the day in Bristol last week learning all about copics and colouring, had a blast and met some fabulous ladies too.

Anywhoo onto the card, I have used the gorgeous Sylvia Zet image (available from Copic Europe only), coloured with of course copics and backing papers by Nit Wit.

Why not pop along to the Copic Marker Europe blog to see fabulous tutorials and join in their 1st Birthday celebrations.

Congratulations and Good Luck

I made this card with one of the new stamps I got in Florida she was an impulse purchase as I needed one item to get over the $150 limit so that I could get $15 off lol and as usually happens I am so glad I got her as she is perfect for this type of card. She is also the first one I inked up lol.

As soon as my good friend told me she had a new job I knew exactly how I wanted the card to look. Her favourite colour is bright pink but I wanted a touch of grey too. Normally my go to image is a pink petticoat one but as I have already used that one for her I wanted something different.  I printed the sentiment and cut using my craft robo and used the cricut with elegant edges to cut the flower mat. I also used one of my new patp stamp sets, eyelet lace.

Doodle Pantry Ants

Well I have been trying to reduce the snippet mountain before it becomes an avalanche and used all scraps to make this card. The backing card is last years christmas card where I made a hash of the front so used the back for this one, the wainscotting was created using my hougie, white scrap card and an antique linen distress ink pad. I have been watching you tube a lot and started with craft room tours and am now happily watching "stamp tv" so this card was made after watching Gina k.

I made this card for my hubbie to say thank you for all the cooking he has done since my fall, not that he didn't do all the cooking before but he has been making me cakes too lol. So why the red ants I hear you ask, well his name is Ant and in Florida if there are fire ants anywhere they seem to be attracted to him lol.

I have been admiring these images for ages but thought they would be difficult to colour but they aren't in fact they are a joy and as there is a sale on I am off to buy a few more.

Just like buses

No snippets makes for ages then two in a week lol. Again no full sheets were harmed in the making of this card. In fact I printed the image when I first bought the Next Big Thing CD and only found it when clearing out the snippet box. Such an easy card too the backing papers were already cut to the right size as they were the off cuts from the leaving card I made a while ago, I used my new mft dies to cut the chevrons just to add a bit extra. I love these dies and will be buying more next time I am in Florida.

Am I alone in this but I have had my cuttlebug for about four years and have never used it to cut dies only emboss so the first time I used my new mft dies they left marks in the plates and I was horrified lol. So I could just buy new plates but I decided to look for a solution, my cuttlebug lives on a shelf and has to be lifted down to be used hence the reason I don't emboss much and I have been using the dies a lot so knew the shelf wasn't ideal. After some head scratching as there is little room on my desk I spotted the cuttlekid machine I bought for my friend's little girl a few years ago, I tried the dies and they work perfectly, no more messing around trying to find the right plate combo, two plates and away to go, the dies fit the plates perfectly and they are much cheaper to replace than the cuttlebug plates. When I bought the cuttlekid I paid $9.99 in Florida and it traveled all the way home with me to discover that my friend had bought one already so it had been sitting in my cupboard ever since but no more, it fits on my desk and works perfectly.

A Snippet Card at long last

Since my fall I have been unable to get around so decided to dedicate some time to sorting my mountain of paper snippets into a workable order. I bought clear pockets with a foldover flap and sorted my cardstock snippets into colour groups, red, yellow & orange, pink, green, blue, purple, white, black, brown and metallic. Then placed file hangers in the draw and put one folder per hanger. I then sorted all the printed paper into, men/boys, girls/ladies, christmas and neutral (gingham etc) and placed these in the hangers after the cardstock. Well so far this system is really working, I have made three cards all from the snippets draw and it was so easy to find the bits I wanted.

Onto the card, I have used a new image from Di's Digi Downloads, I bought this one and the girl version so expect to see this one soon. Coloured with my trusty copics and no glossy accents in sight lol.
