I remade a card from over ten years ago and this might be the magnificent Seven boys design for this year. I updated it a little bit but it’s still the same but different lol. I have been struggling with crafting for a while so I am trying to recreate old designs as I’m hoping that kick starts my mojo cos I have too much stuff to give it up .
This card was made and sent before I was able to use my camera again, even though I love my phone camera I couldn’t add my watermark or get rid of the shadows so I thrilled I can use my camera again. It’s the small things that make my day lol.
Another altenew set and stencil and I followed one of the examples in the stamp packaging and I love it. In fact I might make a few more as daffodils are quite a few friends favourite flowers.
I am sure I made more of these in different colours but this one was in my drafts waiting to be seen. It does make me want to make more.
Why do I never realise how easy I can make a card, I mean I was going to inset the strips in different colours and all sorts of stuff then I just stuck it down and love it, I need to try that with all my background dies. The image was already coloured on my desk, does anyone else do this, just colour and then not make anything with the image until years later lol. I did try using all my coloured images a few years ago and didn’t even make a dent in my stash lol. Maybe I should try that again….watch this space and see if I succeed.
Another of the quick girlie cards and it’s making me want to colour all the CC Designs characters and make a lot of them so they are ready to go….I nearly fell off my chair at that one…who do I think I am lol
I needed a quick girlie birthday card and thought why not use the same style as the hulk card. I do think this clean and simple look is my favourite although you can’t beat some stripes lol.
My cousin recently announced she wants to pursue a career in nursing so of course her birthday card needed to reflect that. I again recreated a card I’ve made previously but that was a thank you so the greeting is different lol. I do like using a large die for the greeting but I don’t do that very often.
It’s been so long since I used this stamp set, I had forgotten how cool it is. Maybe next year I will use it for the big six as I know make up is what all the preteens want, that and skin care stuff.
This one however is for a lash tech so the sentiment is perfect.
Another of last years cards and one for my hubbie, he’s a huge dead pool fan so when I saw this set I had to get it. I made the blood splatter stencil on my cricut and I think it works really well. He loved it too so that made all the effort worth it lol.
Just after Christmas I placed a fairly large order with Kraftin Kimmie stamps, I love the drawing style of Emilie Goulet and there were a few I had to have, plus they were heavily reduced so quite the bargain too.
Now when I ordered this set I thought it was a bunny that the girl was holding so imagine my surprise to find it’s a cat and it’s perfect for my friend. It’s the first one to see colour but it won’t be the last.
I might be a bit obsessed with the stripes again, Michael’s card packs make this so easy lol.
Of course I couldn’t just use the stuff once lol. I think I like these colours more than the previous one. It’s so simple to colour with stencils my copics are feeling neglected lol.
This stamp and stencil set from Honey Bee was part of my crop and create kit from 2022. I wanted to attend another so I thought I should use some of the stuff from the last one before I do. I used a crafters companion sentiment as I mostly make birthday cards rather than thinking of you etc.
Another car card and this time it’s a classic car, isn’t it weird that we associate certain cars with certain colours and this is no exception, it had to be powder blue lol.
I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned that I found last years cards on my camera but this is one of them. I bought a fab stamp set from altenew and followed the colours in the packaging, a simple card but it was well received.
Another of the car cards and this one had to be a Porsche and it had to be white lol. Not much else to say except there will be more of these as I loved making them and they are a great guy card, not too fussy and with a car lol.
Sometimes you envisage a card in your head and sometimes you make one with stuff leftover on your desk lol. This is the leftover kind but I still really like it lol. The background was from the reading girl cards and the bear was an experiment with a layered set and it worked so it needed to be used, the only thing actually made for this card was the sentiment.
I was trying to add where the bear came from but I can’t find the stamp set so it’s a mystery lol.
This card is a departure from my usual style but I will say I really like it. I will have to try and do some more like this but as I made it in 2023 I have no idea how lol.
Now you might be thinking this is one of the 2024 big birthdays but you would be wrong lol. I lost or so I thought all the pictures I took on my camera late in 2023 but I tried today and they were all there so I will be posting them here soon. I might not post the Christmas ones but I will with the others.
It’s been a while since there was a new baby around here, in fact last year there were none and that hasn’t happened in forever. Hopefully this will be another bumper year for little ones.
I went a different way than I was intending as I had used the design for this little ones big brother. I do like these lovely leg designs but I know some people can’t cope with the cut off heads lol.
This eclipse was made on my cricut using a digital stamp. It took a few attempts and the intervention of my hubbie but we finally made it work and I will be making more of these now I understand how to do it lol.
In one of my earlier posts I said I was revisiting older designs so you didn’t think I could leave out my rainbow stripes phase did you, of course now it’s changed to different colours of the same shade but I still love it lol. The packs of recollections card from Michael’s makes this so easy as you get 5 colours per pack, not sure why though but one colour always bares no relation to the rest of the pack lol.
This is definitely not my favourite card to make and also not one I can make and have on hand as that makes me feel like I’m tempting fate. I bought this die from crafters companion a year ago, I had to have it and this is its first outing, isn’t that always the case lol.
It’s only February and we are on big birthday number 4, I wasn’t joking when I said it was going to be a busy big birthday year, I wonder how many I will have made at the end of the year. I’ve not counted as I find that makes me anxious and stops me just making them, I get stuck like a deer in the headlights lol.
Another eclipse but they are just so effective, I did remember to put glossy accents on the numbers this time as it makes them pop more
I made an almost identical card in the summer and as the person this card is for has a bulldog I wanted to recreate it, of course I couldn’t find the stamp set and it’s taken me three days and numerous times to find it. Of course it was worth it but it has made me realise my current stamp storage system is broken.
I am still using the backgrounds I created from Kendra Card Challenge 10, this is probably my favourite of the sketches and one I want to recreate using lots of other papers.
The stamps and dies from The Ton make these designs so easy to assemble, just pick the image, colour and add and it's done, definitely the way to go.
Another big birthday and another eclipse, so far I haven’t made any shaped cards but they are coming soon lol.
I went with an image I’ve used previously for the eclipse style as I knew it would work well.
Is there any other colour you can get a Ferrari in, I don’t think so….of course I could be wrong but I do think red is iconic.
Now I don’t think the person I made this for will ever have a Ferrari except in card or model form but that shouldn’t stop you dreaming lol.
Another tried and tested design and I used every stamp in this set and made a whole set of cards that I will show after the birthdays.
I tried to use one of the other designs in this stamp set and although I like it I think it’s too small for the design, of course it’s too late now but I will address that when I make the next one
The second colour scheme and now I see this I want to make more, they are very elegant and as I have new people to make more a great easy but lovely design to mass produce.
This is going to be a recurring theme this year, I am going to be revisiting past designs and recreating because even though I’m enjoying making cards I’m struggling with original new designs so sometimes you need to go and make something you know works and this is it, of course I made a few in different colours so expect to see them soon.
This time I went with a tried and true design and even though I’ve been making this style since 2020 I still really like it.
The only change to the original is the scalloped mat layer, I attended a virtual crop and create in 2022 and this was part of the lawn fawn set and I can’t seem to put it down lol.
This year you will be seeing a plethora of big birthday cards, I have a lot of friends and family celebrating big birthdays and the eclipse and shaped cards will be my go to. Unless of course I discover a totally new technique lol.
This isn’t the first big birthday card I needed but it is the first one I made lol. I used this image on a shaped birthday card last year so it seemed fitting that I try it with the eclipse technique.
I always make a huge card for my mum’s birthday and this is no exception, it’s an 8x8 and this image from Altenew was the perfect size. I also made the sentiment on my cricut and cut the white layer with vinyl lol, see I said I was obsessed
I apologise for the tumble weeds on my blog for the last few weeks, I always struggle to get back into crafting after a break and this time it was even harder than ever and it even made me question whether I wanted to continue making cards, of course a few days in my room has made that thought disappear but I hope that continues.
I apologise for the lack of cards and posts and rather than have tumbleweed on my blog whilst I get back to crafting after my Christmas hiatus I thought I would show a few of the items I made as gifts. I absolutely love my cricut maker and since I discovered vinyl there has been no stopping me, on my last visit to Florida I made quite a few purchases in dollar tree as there blanks are excellent especially for the price and all of these are from there and the svgs are from design bundles
I must apologise for the photos lately, I am not able to upload from my camera and that means using my phone and I haven’t worked out how to get rid of the shadows, another thing to learn for 2024 lol.
I needed a quick card and these images from Cc Designs make that so easy, again I think I need to use them all and I have most of them lol.
After making the girl version I had to make the boy one didn’t I lol. I was hoping to make a few crafty resolutions but I know if I decide to not spend all I will do is spend lol, so I’m not going to make any except I need to play more and maybe use some of the huge piles of stuff I have lol.
I think I might have to make all the variations of these and even buy some more, see that’s why it wasn’t a resolution lol.
I have been enjoying using my cricut more and more for crafting and I have also joined a electronic cutting machine group where we meet once a month and all make things, at one of these meetings someone was making a boy version of this and I knew I needed to go buy them. I also bought the girl versions and made this for my Spider-Man obsessed cousin. I have also made the Batman version but I didn’t take a photo.
