When these stamps were released they weren't easy to get hold of and I coveted them from afar, over the years I purchased a few sets from eBay but not this particular one. A dear friend mentioned a sale at "care curd crafts" so off I went to look and she had both sets for 60% off so it would have been rude not to buy them both lol.
During my recent stamp cataloging I was shocked to discover I have used every set of Kansan stamps at least once, thats not something you can say for most manufacturers.

70th Birthday
I normally make little boy cards for my MIL but she had said how she likes cards with little girls on them as well so as it was a special birthday I went with a little girl. This stamp was released when I first started card making as part of a TSV on QVC, back in the days when Dawn Bibby was the main attraction. I so wanted this set, stamps, a bag to store them in and other stuff but I wasn't a stamper so I decided against it, hubby came in from work and said buy it but it had already sold out and I was so disappointed. I searched eBay often but the bag and stamps went for ridiculous prices so I thought it was lost to me. Imagine my surprise then when I found it with several sets of stamps on eBay for a song, I had to buy it, this time I didn't even hesitate I pressed that buy-it-now button quicker than you can say "do you take paypal" and it was mine.
This is the first stamp I have used from the sets it contained, it stamped perfectly and is a lovely image to colour, only thing now is to use the other sets...time will tell lol.
Anyway enough waffling onto the card, which as my mojo is missing is fairly simple but the Mil liked it and that is all that mattered. I am hoping that Nit Wit release another purple kit soon though as I need to use different papers on her next card.

Happy Birthday Mum
Today is my mums birthday, I'm not going to tell you how old she is though lol, but I did want to wish her a very happy birthday xxx
My mum likes large cards, this normally fills me with dread but not this year, I found this stamp in my stash I remembered why I bought it. My mum has always wanted an old English sheepdog, as a child I would watch the Dulux adverts with her and she would say how much she liked them. Now my mum does have a dog and she is a sheepdog cross but not an old english one and to be honest she is more sheep then dog but a gentler and more loveable dog you would struggle to find. She literally lights up when she sees you and her tail almost knocks you over.
Anyway enough about dogs onto the card, I have made an 8x8 easel card and I think this image would have overpowered any other size.
Please excuse my very poor photography skills this was a very difficult to photograph card.

A get well wish
Quite a few of my friends need get well wishes at the moment and for me there is no better way of showing I am thinking of them than a card.
The first card I made is for a young lady who has had an operation and this image seemed perfect for her, I used a tried and tested card layout and as the papers were already on my deck it came together very quickly.
I keep saying I should have a stockpile of those needed quickly, difficult to make cards but I never seem to get around to it.

I love to cook with wine....
Ever have one of those cards that ends up nothing like you imagined but you like it anyway...yup this is one of those. I think it should have been a square card but I had already cut the papers and as I didn't have enough left for a larger card I went with what I had.
I wasn't going to paper piece her dress but I stuffed up and coloured her sleeve with skin colours and I couldn't cover it up and as I was pleased with her hair and skin I didn't want to start all over again. I used dark colours as the shadow on her dress and I'm really pleased with how dimensional it looks.
I'm visiting the snippet playground today, it feel like an age since I had a go on the swings.

Get Well Wishes
One of the lovely ladies from the Bristol play day is currently unwell and I thought a get well card might cheer her up. I haven't made many of this type of card but I did enjoy it and might make a few just in case, famous last words I'm sure, next time I say I made this last minute remind me I was going to make a few lol.

Kanban Diva
After seeing this card I knew I had to have this stamp set, unfortunately though the company stopped trading last year so ebay to the rescue and a bargain price to boot. I changed my 6 x 6 paper pad storage and found these papers at the bottom of the old box, they are from my much loved and used "blush" paper pad, they only pad I have ever used almost all of, that is a shocking thing to admit to lol.
Im entering Di's Snippet playground, I haven't played along in a while and I think I need a gentle push on the swings lol.
