Another two for the price of one card, I liked this layout so I thought why not use it again, it’s very effective and of course I can use up some of the paper mountain. I couldn’t use my go to first birthday image for one of the boys as he has an older brother and I’d made it for him so of course Mo manning is my first choice for babies and little kids as she seems to capture the expressions so perfectly.
I went with my normal design for first birthdays and it will always be my favourite, I just love the large balloon.
My friends little boy got a switch for Christmas so of course I had to use the digital pencil boy and the switch die to make his card, they recently moved and it does feel weird him not being next door, I hadn’t realised how much I would miss him chatting underneath my lounge window
I try and make something different for my Mum's birthday but this time I went with a technique I tried years ago, I don't think I was as successful as I was before and I totally forgot to colour the bottom image but I did enjoy making it and of course the cats look like hers lol.
This image and indeed card have been sitting in my drafts folder for ages waiting for her to actually pass so I could send and post it here lol. I still can’t believe she is old enough to drive lol.
I made this at the same time as the previous card and I just spotted that the sentiment didn't stanmp properly.... oh well too late now its already posted lol.
You might recognise this design from last year and you would be correct lol. I am still in my well it worked why not make it again phase. The moving rooms which has taken over six months sapped my creativity and a lot of the cards I have made have been variations on a theme, I am hoping that my mojo returns with a bang soon and I can create some new designs
A tried and tested design and a stamp I love colouring are a match made in heaven, over the years I have coloured these images in a multitude of different colours and I don’t think I could pick a favourite either, although I am liking the pink and yellow colour scheme.
This year there aren’t very many big birthdays well not as many as last year anyway, I was going to do a shaped card but the eclipse won.
I have been on a real colouring kick lately and I’ve been enjoying it a lot too.
I can’t believe I started making cards the year this young man was born, I think I’ve made him a card for most of his birthdays, at the start of my card making journey I didn’t make to give just for the pleasure of making and it took a while to discover copics and colouring and then I wanted to make cards for all my family and friends.
It’s almost Mother’s Day and I am just posting my mums birthday card from December, I wanted the image to stand out but I also wanted a background too, I went with one from creative fabrica and it worked a treat, I need to remember to do this more often as it really makes the coloured image pop.
How weird that I am posting this little ones card on their grandma’s birthday! I went with a tried and tested design and I don’t know why but the papers printed brighter this time and I really like it.
This was the only little one born in 2024 and there were none in 2023 in amongst my family and friends and hopefully there will be more in 2025.
You might recognise this design from the last post and yes I’m continuing to try and make multiples in each sitting, I try and make the characters look like the people I’m sending them too so this young man needed blonde hair.
I had an idea in my head for this card and it as almost exactly how I wanted it to turn out. I kind of wish I had added a game to the screen but there is always next time lol
I had coloured this image in Florida in February and he was too cute to not use but the colours are very bright so the stripes also had to be bright lol.
This design is so simple but effective and a go to if I don’t have a layout in mind.
I went with the same design I made previously I just changed the hair colour and the stripe colour. Seeing them here I want to make more like this as they look so quick and easy even though they weren’t lol.
Another revisited design and I really enjoyed making them both. I love Mo Manning images she captures the look of kids so well, I have been using her images since 2009 and I am amazed by how timeless they are. Think I might even use this design for next years cards too. Plus this is a printed paper pack and I definitely need to use it up.
Again I went with a straight look and again it was harder than the angle I normally use so I think it’s angles from now on lol.
I do like the simplicity of this design though and the image does definitely take centre stage.
An elegant shaped card this time, I was originally going to add a tamagotchi to this card but thought I can do that for next year and make this one a bit more sophisticated.
A strange thing did happen whilst colouring this image though, you might be able to tell from the top of the dress but my copic was dry, I was chatting with my friend Jane and she said I needed to weigh the copic before refilling as I was creating more issues by not fully refilling them each time, she watched a youtube video entitled "death by drips" and it was explained fully in there. I decided to try it and omg it is like having new copics again, they are so different and the blended like butter so guess who is weighing all her copics now lol.
You would be forgiven for thinking this is the rest of the magnificent sevens boy cards but I decided to use the same design and layout for the little boys who are 4 and went with a different image and style for the three year olds. This little guy from Mo manning just seemed a little older than 3 and we all know how literal I am lol.
Woohoo my friend's son has passed his driving test, I have been taking him out regularly for shopping and cake and I have been excited for this day as now he can drive me of course I know I will still be paying for the cake lol.
