I have finally used this image in its entirety, I was a bit scared of colouring those large letters so decided to paper piece them instead and really enjoyed it, next time I think I will paper piece the girl as well.

I am so loving the blueprints 3 dienamics, they make measuring obsolete and everything is straight too. I didn't get the first two sets and now wish I had.

I also used two new tools on this card, the brad setter from making memories, wow this is so easy to use and no more stabbing myself with the prongs. And the second one was a suggestion
from Jody at the MFT workshop, she gave us pieces of plastic canvas to use to paper pierce and it makes it so much easier to line up and they make shapes too.

I was going to use the early expresso card for this but wanted a pop of colour so used some real red scraps, this is such a versatile colour and one of my faves.

Skater Girl

I bought this stamp in the sale at Quixotic Paperie and it is one I have been after for a while. I had the snippets on my desk after a bit of a tidy up and decided to use the scraps rather than find somewhere to store them lol. I wish it was so easy to use all my scraps this way, I need to find a way to store my 6 x 6 paper pads plus scraps together so that they get used. Any ideas welcomed.

Virtual Playday Paper Comparrison

Not the most exciting post title but this post does exactly what it says on the tin.  Last weekend I was supposed to be at the Bristol playday but the snow prevented any of us getting there so we had a virtual playday instead, some made cards, some tidied and most like me just chatted lol. Not much change to a normal playday really lol. I am not sure I would have been able to make it even without the snow as have been ill since before Christmas, now been diagnosed with viral bronchitis which I think is a posh word for a bad cough.

I did manage to try some colouring though. I have always used Rymans 200 gsm for my Copic colouring and still do but I have tried a few others. I attended a Copic class at MFT where I tried Copic xpress it cardstock and really liked the way I could get a deeper colour blend. Now I forgot to buy some and even though I have been since I forgot then as well. So I don't have a comparison to show you.

I did buy a Papertrey ink sampler cardstock pack on my last visit to Florida and this included 2 sheets of their popular "stampers select" colouring card. I decided to try colouring an image on both Rymans and pti using the same colours, shading etc to see the difference. The first difference I noticed was that I needed to work harder and faster on the pti than the Rymans but I also noticed that the colours look richer and deeper on the pti. It did seem to take longer to colour and although I am not ready to swap completely from Rymans ( maybe cos I have 6 packs to work through lol) I will use pti for images that have great hair, as I think the effect is better and easier to achieve on pti.

I also coloured the boy version of the stamp but this time only on PTI, I was so surprised by how easy it was to get a great effect on the hair

Thanks for looking, would be interested to know if you have used any other card stock and found it works well with Copics and or pro markers, Spectrum Noirs etc.

Cute Penguins

These images are from digistampboutique and are part of October's special offer. I printed the penguins several times and really enjoyed colouring them in. I have been making lots of Christmas cards and really enjoyed it although I wish I had started earlier.

The paper is left over from some other cards I have been making and these should be appearing on my blog soon.

A New Digi Designer

Well to me anyway. I saw a gorgeous card on Mina's blog and had to go and have a look at the artist and wow her creations are just amazing. I decided on the set I wanted and before I could sign in it was gone, I contacted her and she said she would put it back on and she did but it went straight away again and I thought I am not meant to get this set lol. I contacted her again and this time she added six so I had a chance and because I had to wait she included 2 free digis, I was so touched by the gesture as it was totally unexpected and I contacted her to say was she sure lol. Please stop by and see her gorgeous creations I know you won't be disappointed I know I wasn't, I am not connected but I am a very satisfied customer.

Anyway onto the card made with the first of the images I bought, I have used the Nit Wit Gratitude papers for this and matched her clothes with copics and had a blast colouring her in. I tried to distress the edges with ink but must admit I am not keen on this, think I am essentially a clean and simple crafter, not that I am tidy when I craft though ;) The camera seems to have changed all the colours but they do all match in real life.
