Graduation a la mode

My friends daughter just had her graduation and I couldn’t not send a card, I used an old a la mode from MFT, these stamps were what drew me to MFT and I still can’t believe they are gone.

Nutcracker Version 2

 After I made the playday cards I wanted to make my Mum's christmas card with the nutcracker as well, however my mum likes bigger cards so I tried adding it to a 7 x 5 instead of an A2 and it worked, of course I made sure to add the teeth this time but I am kind of regretting that lol.

Nutcracker

 I am not sure why I absolutely had to have this die but I really really did. I made all my crafty friends cards from my two craft groups with this die and I had a blast. I decided very early on to mix and match the colours and that made it easy to batch produce, of course I was in the zone on the first one and forgot the teeth but I think he looks less scary without them.

I am hoping to post daily in december but I made the bulk of my cards with leftovers from last years cookie cards and I forgot to photograph them and of course I posted them before I realised!!!

That stencil again

Another outing for this water stencil from altenew, do you ever start a project and then can’t stop and you are looking for images to make more, this stencil did that to me, I might have made quite a few and only stopped because I didn’t know who they were for lol

Christmas Wreath Green

Not much to say here except I ran out of red bases so decided to try the green and I really like it. This was one of the first designs I made this year and I might make more ready for next year as it was so effective.

I used the larger limetree cards again this time the red ones and made a few of this design, I am trying to only make smaller batches this year as I need to use some of the hundreds of christmas stamps and dies I own. Lets see if that is still the case at the end of december lol.

I used the hero arts wreath stencil, I was originally going to over stamp with the stamp set but decided it worked exactly as it is.

 

Return of the Hat

There is something deeply satisfying about revisiting a past design and loving it more the second time around. I went with almost the same colours as last time but I decided to try a two tone hat and it definitely worked. Maybe I should try brighter colours next time though like a red.

Congradulations

I’ve had this idea in my head for a while, I love the pretty pink posh layered stencils so of course I wanted to use it, I went with the infamous eclipse but with a bubble twist, definitely works really well and make the sentiment stand out much more.

Fairwee Macaroon

Today is two of my very good friends birthdays, they were both born on the same day, same year just oceans apart. I am showing Jane’s card today as I know she checks my blog and I wanted to wish her a happy birthday, also want to wish Judy a happy birthday too.

Jane is a fan of cake and I know she likes macaroon stamps so I combined that to make her card.

The last of these cards and it feels like a goodbye but I can assure you it is not, it was too much fun to not do again.

Bit of an unusual colour for this one but I found a pack of card and wanted to use it up, I do like the end result though.

I think this might be my favourite colour one I made and I even had a person in mind when I coloured it, now of course I notice the sentiment is wonky but it’s too late I’ve already sent it.

I am already planning what to take on my next trip and I’m excited to see what else I can create with limited supplies, of course my limited supplies is larger than when I first started making cards way back in 2005 lol.

Flowers number 2 - limited supplies

I had such a lot of fun with the pencils on this card, I had forgotten the sheer joy colouring brings me and how it quietens the mind too. I got into a bit of a routine on this trip, get up, go for a long walk, come back  and make a huge coffee and then sit and colour. Writing about it is making me miss it even more and I can’t wait to be doing it again. 

Flowers - limited supplies

This is another of the limited supplies cards, last year I bought one of the Hero Arts kits exclusive to Joann Fabric and never used it so I decided to take it with me and see if that worked. I loved colouring such a big bold image with pencils, I might have made a few more too lol.

I do think this will be what I do every trip no matter how small the timescale, colouring with a coffee/tea was just an amazing way to start the day.

Frame it in

Another of the holiday cards, pencils this time and a design I’ve not tried before, definitely one I will try again though as I really like the frame idea. I found some very old stamped images and that is what I took away with me, I have already been on another trip since I made this and again I coloured older images, it felt good to show the images some love.

 

Wonder Woman

I needed a quick girlie birthday card and thought why not use the same style as the hulk card. I do think this clean and simple look is my favourite although you can’t beat some stripes lol.

Cute and Cuddly

Sometimes you envisage a card in your head and sometimes you make one with stuff leftover on your desk lol. This is the leftover kind but I still really like it lol. The background was from the reading girl cards and the bear was an experiment with a layered set and it worked so it needed to be used, the only thing actually made for this card was the sentiment.

I was trying to add where the bear came from but I can’t find the stamp set so it’s a mystery lol.

Sympathy

This is definitely not my favourite card to make and also not one I can make and have on hand as that makes me feel like I’m tempting fate. I bought this die from crafters companion a year ago, I had to have it and this is its first outing, isn’t that always the case lol.

Big Birthday Number 3

Another big birthday and another eclipse, so far I haven’t made any shaped cards but they are coming soon lol.

I went with an image I’ve used previously for the eclipse style as I knew it would work well.

New Home Cricut Version

So i have been making a lot of things with my cricut and I designed and made this card from scratch and I am pleased with it, its very clean and simple which gives you nowhere to hide any mistakes lol.

I used a house image and the rockwell font which seems to be my goto font this year.

I am not sure if I mentioned that I have recently returned from my first Florida trip in two years, of course I bought a few things and this set was one of them. 

I met some friends and we travelled to Gainesville to visit another friend who moved there during the first part of the pandemic, when we returned they dropped me at my car and out of the corner of my eye I spotted a “Joann Fabric” which to those of you in the know is a big box craft store. I asked them if they wanted to join me and they all said no, now last time that happened was in hobby lobby in 2020 and all the dies were 75-90 % off. Of course when I spotted the hero arts sets were buy 2 get one free I sent them a picture and I also found some Christmas sets in the clearance section so they were all kicking themselves again lol.

I went with an aperture style card and it’s something I rarely do as I hardly ever buy the matching dies but it did make me want to do it again and again lol.
