Happy Birthday MUM

This is another of the huge cards I make for my Mum's birthday. I wasn't intending using these papers as I used them a few years ago for her but I had already coloured the image and they matched perfectly so it felt the way to go.

I actually coloured the image way back in August as part of the first 30 day challenge I took part in so I don't have a list of the copics and that determined the way the card was going to go lol.

I wanted to wish my MUM a very happy birthday and let her know I was thinking of her xx

Bellissima Again

Well I've used this Papermania stamp again, it is definitely my most used Papermania stamp. Even though I've used it several times I have never coloured it, I just reach for the papers and paper piece.

Its a large image for an a2 card so I don't normally add many layers or embellishments as I think this way the dress is the star of the show.

Ingredients
Image: "bellissima dress form" Papermania
Sentiment: "big birthday numbers" MFT
Papers: "beautiful moments" Carta Bella
Card:"smokey shadow" Papertrey ink
Dies: Blueprints 1, 2 and 4, circle staxs 1 and 2 all MFT and perfect layers tool

Wine Diva

I think these Ai images are too funny but you have to be mindful of the audience, the images kind of remind me of members of my family but I think they would be mortified if they realised this lol so I try to send them to people with a sense of humour about themselves. My cousin always sends me a funny card and I thought this year I would return the favour.

I paper pieced the chair and I'm so pleased I did as it ties in nicely with the background papers. This card didn't turn out as I envisaged but sometimes things just evolve.

I'm a big fan of the MFT staxs and blueprints but they are a little small for a 135mm card base so I was tickled pink when I saw that "crealies" are making XXL dies with or without stitching in larger sizes, I bought the square and the circle ones and I'm looking at the ovals as well.

Ingredients

Cowboy Up !!

Like many of my family my uncle is a big fan of westerns and I knew I would get to use this image on one of his cards, he is also a fan of bad horror movies but as I'm not I can't see me making any of those lol.

Its a very basic card but I ran out of mojo halfway through, I think thats why I like guy cards cos they don't expect anything other than a basic card.

Ingredients

Paper: "giddy up boy" Carta Bella at Jessica Sprague and "Dilly Dally " MME
Card: "dark chocolate" Papertrey Ink

BeBunni

This was the free stamp that Crafters Companion sent out with their birthday orders this year, I hadn't used the one from last year so I didn't hold out much hope of using this one but I decided to stamp it before putting it away and I'm so glad I did. After colouring with my copics I wanted to create a background, something I've been enjoying a lot lately and this time I wanted to use my distress inks. I created a mask using a full adhesive post it note and inked the background, I have the inkadinkado masking sheets but I can't bear to cut into them, I think I need help lol.

Ingredients
Image: "BeBunni Gerbera" Crafters Companion
Dies: stitched circle stax, blueprints 15 both MFT and "decorative edges shallow" clearly besotted
Paper: "giddy up girl" carte bella at Jessica Sprague
Card: "strawberry slush" stampinup
Sentiment: "sweet little sentiments" clearly besotted

Giddy Up Cowgirl

I'm trying to use some of my huge unused stamp collection, a bit like Darnell's NBUS challenge, except this is a challenge to myself. I'm sure I'm not alone in my crafty spending habits, the stamp you just had to have that sits unloved and unused in a drawer out of sight because you feel guilty every time you look at it, the paper packs that are still unopened and don't even get me started on card, I must have seven, yes seven packs of nearly identical card from several companies and still I buy more.

Anyway enough waffling onto the card, I have used a piece of the above mention card, all I'm going to say is it is a start lol and a stamp that I've had for a while, it was so nice to colour I began to wonder why I hadn't coloured it before. I hope I use her again soon (no promises mind lol)

Mini Cards Set 4

This is the last set of these mini cards for a while at least, I have enjoyed making them but I really need to get back to all the birthday and christmas cards I need to make before I discover it is Christmas eve and I still have a hundred left.

For this set I have made 6 cards as the stamp set had 6 images and I wanted to use them all, I've used a Stampin up hostess set from the last mini catalogue that I ordered from ebay.

Papers: "Paris Girl" Carte Bella

A Playday Project

I don't normally post my play day projects mostly because I spend so much time chatting that I never finish them but this one was different as although it was supposed to be the April project I didn't start it until I got home. I used mount board and gummed tape which gives it a lot of strength, I still have to add the feet but as I don't have any to add at the moment that can wait. It has had two coats of acrylic paint and I used a square stax to make sure all the papers were the same size. I think I might even make another one lol.

Crafting for Christmas Number 6

Another Just Inklined card for you today, I used this image last year but couldn't resist using it again this year too. Went slightly overboard with the glossy accents though, they even feel like glass bottles now.

Think this is my favourite of all my  just inklined christmas makes so far, think it is the colour pallet, this green is so deep and luxurious looking.

Christmas Wrapping

Another Christmas card, there is no stopping me now, except I have four birthday cards and a new baby card I need to make, better get into gear. You can bet though as soon as I start on the birthday cards the christmas mojo will disappear.

I have also been enjoying paper piercing and the lovely effect but this time I decided to try piercing every other hole and running my pen along the lines afterwards and it really looks stitched and is much easier than learning to use a sewing machine lol.

It just needs some nailheads or candy dots to finish it off and I will add them nearer the posing date.

These images have been so much fun to colour and I have several others ready to go so maybe more cards will get made soon.

I still need to decide on my mass produced design though, at the moment I am thinking I will use the Papertrey Ink stockings but that may change.

Christmas in August?

Not sure the title is as catchy as Christmas in July but I can't use that anymore cos July is gone lol.

I have wanted this stamp since last year and finally bought it with last weeks new release. It was the first one to see ink but the other two I bought are equally cute so expect to see them soon too. I really enjoyed colouring this and can see it being a go to stamp.

Although it doesn't look it this image is quite large and I had difficulty finding a way of cutting it out so went with a different look instead. I wasn't sure at first but now I really like it. It still needs some embellies but will add them nearer the posting time.

Black & White Movies

This is another of the images that as soon as I had finished I couldn't believe how like an old black and white movie she looked. I have used mostly snippets on this card and it came together really fast as it seemed to make itself lol.

Paper is left over from the storage box I made at last months Bristol play day and was only discovered when I packed my bag for this month. Card is from the snippet folder and even the die cut is one of my how does this cut ones.

Not sure about the sentiment but I didn't want to distract the eye from the papers.

Merry Christmas Mum

I have delivered this card now so it is safe to show on here. I made this card for my mum and used the paper piecing/tolling technique again and I think this version is a bit better as I used the template on Mariska's blog to show me which bits to cut. Mariska has recently started showing the bits all coloured ready to assemble and she takes the hard work out of trying to guess which bits go where. I haven't followed exactly but close enough. This looks very time consuming but actually it is very therapeautic not something I will be doing on every card but I will be practising again.

Papers: "Winter Fun" Carta Bella at Jessica Sprague
Cardstock: Recollections Kraft
