Creative stamping is probably my favourite magazine and even though their images aren’t all cute I really like them. I knew who I was going to use this image for as soon as I saw it all I had to do was decide on a card design. Lately this decision hasn’t been an easy one, I don’t know if it’s the lockdown or just my lack of mojo but all I seem to be able to make are stripy cards and I didn’t want that for this one. In the end I found this background die and shaped star whilst looking for something else. I decided to cut them in white as I was just trying them out and I normally but those trials in white but this time I used them lol. I couldn’t decide on the card orientation so I tried both and I think both work, too late now as both have been sent out lol.

The Year of 1st Birthdays
There are 4 baby boys all turning 1 amongst my family and friends so you can expect to see their cards on here.
Normally I have a tried and tested design for these cards however I needed to change it up a bit as two of the boys have older brothers that I’ve used my tried and tested design for so I changed it a little lol.
This card however was the first one I needed and I went with an animal theme as that was the theme of his party, of course the party couldn't go ahead like his parents envisaged but he doesn't know that and I am sure we will make up for it next year.

Making cards stripes 3
The stripy cards aren’t ending anytime soon lol, I can’t seem to stop using these making cards images either. I am definitely obsessed lol.
The colour of this one is a change for me though and was because I had ordered the new distress colours and crackling campfire was just waiting to be used. In reality I only ordered it because it was reduced but I will admit to liking it a lot in real life.

Making cards stripes 2
This was the card I showed my friend and she thought was for her daughter, I was going to go with the same colours but decided to mix it up slightly and I do mean slightly lol.
These stamps from making cards are probably my most used stamps ever, I reach for them all the time but I do think I will run out of people to send them to before I run out of times I want to use them.

Making cards stripes
This card came about during a chat with a non crafty friend, I was showing her a card and she asked if it was for her daughter as it was very her and I thought maybe I should just get on and make her the same card. I did say I have made a lot of stripy cards and she made a very valid point she asked “have you enjoyed making them” I said “yes” and she said “what’s the issue then, the people you are making them for don’t know you’ve made 20 of that design, they just think she made me a card”. Her words gave me a different perspective and renewed my enthusiasm for making, that’s the danger sometimes with this hobby you forget that it’s about the recipient and not about the latest technique or stamp, not that I don’t want the latest stamp or to use that new technique but it should be organic not forced.

Wake Up Make Up
Only the second outing for this stamp set but it’s already a firm favourite. I was inspired by the design team for the placement and I still had the shaped die on my desk from the hedgehog card so I decided to use it again before putting it away.

Sparkle
Sometimes you just want to go to town and colour an image even if it scares you lol. this is one such image and it came out even better than I could have imagined.
Of course once she was coloured I didn't want to cover all that up with lots of layers so I went very simple and let the image play centre stage.
