I haven't made a kit style card since I started this blog but when I saw this one I knew it would be perfect and I knew who I was making it for as well. It used 7 sheets of card for the box and envelope so much more than a standard card would but I think the end result is truly amazing. I also bought an advent calendar which I think I will need to start now if I want to finish it before christmas 2016 lol.

Another inspired by
I seem to be making a lot of Jennifer McGuire inspired cards recently and this one is no exception. I got the lily die free last month from MFT and I wasn't quite sure what to do with it until I saw this card. As I needed another sympathy card I decided to change the colour scheme and go for more muted colours, as is normal when casing or being inspired by I didn't have all the elements used on the original so I changed/used what I had.
Ingredients
Lilies: Die by MFT
Background: "quatrefoil die" Papertrey Ink
Sentiment: "wildflowers" mft
Banner: die by mft, scored to make it fold.
Copics:
Stems and Leaves: YG23, 17, 67
Flowers: Y21, 00, blender
Stamen: R27, 14, YR65

A remake or Sequel
Sympathy cards have to be the hardest to make and the one that can't wait until inspiration strikes, I needed a card this week and as time was of the essence I copied an older one of mine, I made this card after attending the MFT craft retreat and being inspired by one Jody had us make. I changed it up a bit as I didn't have all the elements she used and liked the new look, I now have everything she used but decided to follow my original instead.

Stencils who'd have guessed
I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos especially those by Jennifer McGuire and I decided to try one of her techniques. I used my sponge daubers and distress inks again and decided first of all to create a rainbow, I love the rainbow look, although my odd wants to make it like the rhyme lol.
The speech bubble border was cut at a jaunty angle by accident and I kinda liked it so I did it again, sometimes being impatient and not using post it tape to hold a die in place can have unforeseen results.
Ingredients
Stencil: polka dots by Heidi swapp
Inks: festive berries, spiced marmalade, squeezed lemonade, mowed lawn, peacock feathers, salty ocean and dusty concord all distress inks by tim holtz
Dies: blueprints 13 by MFT and speech bubble border by Lawn Fawn
Sentiment: "teacups" by Lucy a Cromwell for Papermania
Ingredients
Stencil: polka fits by Heidi swapp
Inks: mowed lawn, peacock feathers and salty ocean all distress inks by tim holtz
Dies: blueprints 13 by MFT and speech bubble border by Lawn Fawn
Sentiment: "teacups" by Lucy a Cromwell for Papermania

More Dandelion Inkiness
As promised I am back today with the other two cards I made using inspiration from Michelle, I used much warmer colours for these cards and I found once I started it was difficult to stop. It was a lot of fun getting inky and watching the stamped image emerge from the white background was very satisfying.
I think I prefer these cards with the coloured card stock but the blue inky one from yesterday is my favourite colour combo.
Ingredients

Inks: Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade both Distress inks by Tim Holtz
Dies: Circle stax, blueprints 13

Dandelion Inkiness
I was inspired by this fabulous less is more card by Michelle from the card grotto so I decided to get my inks out and have a go. I didn't have the same stamp but I remembered a set by mft called "dandelion wishes" that had come free in my craft retreat goodies last year. Although these cards look simple they took just as long as a multi layer one, probably because every mistake shows up when using this card style.
I used the MFT blueprint 13 to cut the stitched layer, this gives a lovely effect even when the card is just layered on white. I then cut a circle using my circle stax and placed the negative over my base layer, I made some marks where the circle was going to be covered so that i could remove the mask and ensure my stamping was within the circle. I heat embossed in white and put the mask back on and used three inks to blend.
I am not sure about anyone else but I struggle with the ranger tool so whilst in Florida I bought a few large round daubers and these were so much easier to use, I think I need one for every colour now. I am going to try the new mini tool though as this looks so much easier than the rectangle one.
I was pleased with how these cards turned out and made a few more with different colours which I will show you tomorrow, I am not sure which are my favourite though. So onto the cards.

Mouse House or is it House Mouse
I am never sure which way this should be labelled and even after I look it up (its House Mouse) I still want to say Mouse House lol.
I won these stamps last year from the lovely Di at the Snippet Playground and I have finally inked them up and coloured one of them. It took a lot longer than I realised but I think its really cute. The rest of the card is a tried and tested, mojo is a wandering, card style. I return to this sketch time and time again when I am fresh out of ideas and I still like it even after all these years.
I am also on a use it up kick at the moment, I recently had a bit of a crafty spending splurge (look out for the videos soon) and I now have nowhere to store my new goodies, so I have decided to start using it up. No more replacing something as soon as I am half way through, no this time I need to start using the whole item and then not replacing it. OMG I am breaking out in a sweat jut thinking about it.
So as the image was a prize from the snippet playground I had to make the card with some snippets. The patterned paper isn't a snippet but all the card was.
Ingredients
Image: "" House Mouse
Papers: "jennifer ellory" free with a magazine
Card: "gumdrop green" MFT
Dies: oval stax 1 and 2, blueprint 2 all MFT
Sentiment: kelly purkey set from Michaels
Copics:

Blue - B45, 23, 21, 41
Green - G46, 43, 40
Scissors - N4, 2
