Another big birthday and yet again I have gone for the shape on a 7x5 as they definitely stand up much better and they are still effective too. I also made a 3d fishing hat for him and he loved both, I am always concerned making guy cards and I am always pleaseantly suprised when they like them.
Another of the holiday cards, pencils this time and a design I’ve not tried before, definitely one I will try again though as I really like the frame idea. I found some very old stamped images and that is what I took away with me, I have already been on another trip since I made this and again I coloured older images, it felt good to show the images some love.
It was time for the tremendous two to turn two so I thought why reinvent the wheel and went with the same design as I used for the magnificent seven girls last year. I did remember to add a sentiment this time too.
Almost the last of the cards from last year, this time using the CC designs Spider-Man and a digi background from a now closed store. I made the webs on my cricut and cut them in the frame, I do like using my cricut for stuff like this, I’ve made so many stencils and card bits with it, I would be lost without it now.
Another of the quick girlie cards and it’s making me want to colour all the CC Designs characters and make a lot of them so they are ready to go….I nearly fell off my chair at that one…who do I think I am lol
I needed a quick girlie birthday card and thought why not use the same style as the hulk card. I do think this clean and simple look is my favourite although you can’t beat some stripes lol.
Another of last years cards and one for my hubbie, he’s a huge dead pool fan so when I saw this set I had to get it. I made the blood splatter stencil on my cricut and I think it works really well. He loved it too so that made all the effort worth it lol.
I must apologise for the photos lately, I am not able to upload from my camera and that means using my phone and I haven’t worked out how to get rid of the shadows, another thing to learn for 2024 lol.
I needed a quick card and these images from Cc Designs make that so easy, again I think I need to use them all and I have most of them lol.
As soon as I saw this image I knew I needed it. I also had an inspired idea for the background. Part of me wishes I hadn’t stencilled it red and yellow but at least it’s bright lol. I had to search for a background city image and found this one from Kenny K, miss his unique designs so much. I might have also made a few more cards and bought all the superhero sets lol.
The last of the gamer cards and hopefully the recipient liked it, it wasn’t my plan for his card but I knew next year he would be too old for this image so it was use it now or never.
I like the colouring on this one the best, I think the hair is definitely my favourite.
The second in a series of three of these cards, each one was coloured to look like the recipient and now I wish I had added their names or ages lol.
This is definitely going to be the year of batch making, I seem to be grouping similar age and interest people together and this is helping keep my stress levels at bay. I know cardmaking isn't supposed to be stressful but I just get in my own head sometimes and then I don't seem to be able to just play and create. I was hoping this year would be different but not so far lol.
Anyway onto the card, whilst I was looking for the CC designs birthday candles digi stamp on my computer I came across this image and knew it would be perfect for those teenage boys. I had only just finished the magnificent 7 boy cards and I had used this layout for those and thought it works so why not. It did make them fairly simple to assemble once I started. All the boys look different though as I used their hair colour to match them in real life.
This is the same as the last card except the cat is a different colour and was done to match the family cat. I really wish CC Designs did more digital stamps, I love being able to make them large like this as I know I will use them more this way.
I have already shown the CC Designs birthday candles I made for the 2 year old girls, well I learnt all about the amount of ink needed to colour the candle from this card lol. I should have paper pieced this one as well but I hadn't saved it so had no idea what size it was so I had to colour it with my copics. I do think they make a statement although looking at it now I wish I had added a sentiment and maybe a name.
There might be a theme to this years kid birthday cards….I bought the digital version of the Cc Design birthday candles so I can make them huge so of course I did lol.
The problem with making them larger is the amount of colour the number takes so for these ones I used digital paper and paper pieced them. I also printed the background to match rather than trying to find matching cardstock in my stash. I do miss Pink Petticoat they did the best designs and in tons of colours too.
Another thing I’m using a lot is the notched rectangle from pink and main, it’s the perfect size and leaves a small border around the edge of the card which I really like.
The final one for this year now what on earth am I going to do for their 10th birthdays, now I could say don’t worry it’s ages away but actually it’s less than 3 months until the first one lol.
Almost the last one but by no means the least, I do love this combo, purple and teal/aqua kind of sings to me.
I really should show this on here before I make the next one for this little one. I used another of the robertos rascal images and I just love his style of drawing. They are so expressive and being a digital stamp so easy to make whatever size you like, I do think i might make her huge next time so I can concentrate on her hair and face.
A slightly different colour scheme and each time I publish one of these I can’t decide on my favourite.
