Big Birthday Number 18

You might notice that this card is very similar to the one I made for big birthday 12, and you would be correct, I reversed the colours and made the image look like the young lady but as they both like the same colours and things I didn’t reinvent the wheel lol.

Big Birthday Number 13

Number 13 unlucky for some but not this gent, he is a gentle giant with a great sense of humour who likes dressing up so I hope he likes the outfit choice lol.

Big Birthday Number 12

I had an image in mind for this card but decided this one worked better and then I could use the other one next year lol. I am finding it hard to believe that this young lady is 18, she is such a sweet, kind and chatty person, I love spending time with her.

I went with the shaped card again, I was going to go with eclipse but thought nope shaped is what is needed. I do love my cricut for these, I can make them so quickly and they are so effective too.

Gnome Fishing

I used to be so good at publishing the cards in the birthday month, even if I created them months before but now I seem to be struggling with this concept and I have no idea why.

I saw a similar card on the polkadoodles blog so I had to immediately buy the image and make this card, by the time this publishes I will be back from florida having spent a relaxing month there (fingers crossed) so I had to make this card to be posted before I went. I try and make all the cards I need before, during and even a few weeks after a trip as I know jet lag will scupper any plans I had to be creative.

Big Birthday Number 11

A shaped card this time and masculine colours too, I really like creating these cards on my cricut, I think they are very effective and fun too. The image is from Doctor Digi and I just love the comical way they are drawn, perfect for the men in our lives.

You might be wondering why there are so many of these big birthday cards recently, well April/May there were no less than 6 of them and a fair few parties/meals too lol.

Big Birthday Number 3

Another big birthday and another eclipse, so far I haven’t made any shaped cards but they are coming soon lol.

I went with an image I’ve used previously for the eclipse style as I knew it would work well.

Last card of 2022

And of course its a birthday card, I ran out of christmas cards a few days ago lol. Also its not from the newest obsession line either....or maybe its the next obsession lol.

I do like these flowers from polkadoodles, such movement to them and an absolute joy to colour too.

I just want to say happy birthday Kay and also happy new year

Ice Cream

The last of the new to me stamps but this did make me want to make more and of course I might have lol.

I did originally go with different pinks but I wanted to try the new saltwater taffy colour and I really like it. The newest colours from Tim holtz have been gorgeous and brighter than I expected which pleases me.

Rainbow Gin

The second of the new to me stamps and another rainbow background, I have enjoyed sitting down and stencilling recently, it’s something I find easy to do whilst chatting with friends and I think that has been why I have so many backgrounds just waiting for the right image.

Rainbow Rose

I recently bought a few stamps from a de-clutter group and even though I think they will look fab copic coloured I went a completely different way lol.

Like normal though once I pop I can’t stop and I used all three stamps in one sitting. I will post those over the next few days so you can decide which one is your favourite lol.

I do kind of wish I had gone with a different sentiment stamp but there is always next time lol.

Golfing Gnomies 2

Of course when I made the previous card I couldn't just colour one lol, I went a different way for the cart and I am not sure which I prefer lol

Golfing Gnomies

I love a good gnome stamp and this is certainly one of those, in case you like it too its a digital stamp by Polkadoodles and I might have bought a few lol.

I did stencil the scene behind the cart and I really like how it turned out.

Flamin - go 70

The next 70 uses my cricut again but I tried to do skinny letters and it worked. I used a paper pack called flamingo from Michaels and I went with a new stamp from a new to me company for the actual flamingo.

The card has arrived and all the big birthdays have been celebrated so now I can show them all on here.

Last of the One Sheet Wonder cards......probably lol

I bet you thought you had seen the last of these cards....well I found one background that I hadn't used so I decided it is better to use it than lose it and a quick card was made.

I have enjoyed these stamps from Making cards and have lost count of the amount that I have used them, it is probably one of my most used sets ever!!!!

oh my whiskers

I made this card when I was making the magical unicorn cards, I ws originally going to use the rainbow background I had left over but when my playday friend asked for 4th birthday cards for her granddaughter that seemed too perfect to not use.

I used aa different colour for the clouds than I am used to and I really like it, it might become a new favourite. I also wanted to order the city scape stencil from Clearly besotted but as I wanted it done and I couldn't wait I created my own using a retired mft cityscape die. I used the negative and black soot ink and bish bash bosh I was done.

Flower Frame Cards

Since lockdown began I have been buying magazines remotely and probably more frequently too. Normally I see one and I talk myself out of buying it but unfortunately online you can’t do that once you’ve hit the buy it button lol.

This magazine caught my eye for this die set and I had an idea of what I wanted to achieve, of course that didn’t happen but I am pleased with how they turned out. I was going to try the stained glass technique a la Jennifer McGuire but I thought I would colour one on white first to see what it looked like and I kept going lol.

I have layered the die three times and that makes it look more finished to me, the embossing folder was a last minute addition and is probably my favourite part. I have no idea who makes it though as it came with a magazine ages ago.

Making Cards Lovely Ladies 4

Now this is the fourth or fifth card you will have seen using these images, however this was the first image from this making cards free set that I coloured and I even followed one of the layouts from the magazine too. It was quick and easy to make and exactly what I needed when my mojo was missing. It really helped to kick start my mojo too and since I made this I’ve been on a roll.

I am not sure if being in lockdown has helped my mojo as one of the only things that seemed to keep me sane was colouring and making cards, oh and walking around my garden. I seem to have flattened my astroturf though lol.

Last of the one sheet wonders for the moment

Woohoo the last one sheet wonder for a while at least, this one I only made this week with last months edition of "making cards magazine" I couldn't wait to ink these stamps up and made two cards at the same time, I used the layout from the magazine for the other one and I was in a rush to finish this one when I remembered I had one last one sheet wonder background left.

I did shed a little tear at using the last one and I know I will have to make more as they took a lot of stress out of my card making last year. I know this hobby shouldn't be stressful but sometimes when time is tight and I am disorganised it certainly feels that way. I have tried lots of methods to help but none have worked as well as I had hoped for. I am sure if I took the stress away I would just spend all my time organising and not making lol.

A La Modes

Ok so previously was the turn of the uptown girls so this week it had to be something different so I have been using the "a la modes" from MFT. These images are so quick and easy to colour and perfect for fussy cutting.

I made these cards for December birthdays and I have decided that next year I am making them in August as I struggled to find my mojo when in full christmas card swing.

I used an old sketch saturday sketch for this card and I quite like how it turned out. I am entering the snippet playground with both my a la modes this week as they both used scraps that were already on my desk.

Crafting for Christmas Number 4

This image reminded me of my uncles farm, even down to the sheep in fact the only thing missing was the original mini in the field. I loved that mini, it was power blue, with string to open the door and sliding windows and a number plate with three numbers and three letters, my that has been a wander down memory lane lol.
