Delightful Day Number 1

There are two beautiful flower images in this set and as soon as it arrived I coloured and made cards with both of them, I can't show the other image until the persons birthday has passed though so you might have a bit of a wait.

I have tried something very similar to the cards Jennifer McGuire makes, I like the idea of a shorter panel and a bit of background poking through, on this card it helped that you couldn't see the background all the way across as it was far from perfect.

Gnomey Gnomey

This card was made with the left overs of the previous "gnome" card, I had originally intended for the frame to be on the other card but had forgotten to stick it down so decided rather than pull the other card apart as I had all the left over circles on my desk I would make another one. I haven't made this for anyone which is unusual for me but I thought it might come in useful for when the mojo desserts me again lol.

As I've only used leftover pieces I'm going to visit the Snippet Playground.

My Balloon

So these paper scraps were sitting on my desk after I made the "rosie" card, I was about to tidy up when I realised there was enough of each sheet left to make a quick and simple card. This entire card was made with snippets, its been so long since I was able to say that I almost forgot what it was like to use up every scrap of something, well it feels very satisfying if you must know lol.

Boy - noise with dirt on it

I have been wanting to use this sentiment since I bought this stamp set last year, I noticed the fabulous edge dies from MFT in their April release and really liked what the design team had done with them, I was about to buy them (still might) when I remembered I bought the Avery Elle "Custom Panels" and have never used them. I blame Jennifer McGuire she is a first class enabler and I had to have this die set.

Ingredients
Image and Sentiment: "all boy" Simon Says Stamp
Card: real red from stamping up and Nightshift blue from MFT
Paper: Fancy pants (May 2014 card kit SSS)
Dies: Blueprints 1 and 2 from MFT and custom panels from Avery Elle

Gnome business

These gnomes by Birdie Brown for MFT are too cute, I had an idea and for once it turned out almost as I imagined it. I did cut a circle frame and as usual I found it after I had stuck down the gnomes, oh well I can keep that for the next card as I have coloured up quite a few of these fabulous images. My uncle who is sadly no longer with us would have loved this card, he had a huge collection of gnomes and every year it was a joy to see what new ones he had found.

Ingredient
Images: "You Gnome Me" MFT
Card: 110lb white from Michaels
Dies: stitched hillside by lawn fawn, circle stax, picket fence and blueprints 15 all mft

Day Out Anya

This is one of the "super secret stamp club" Greeting Farm images, I loved the fairytale set so I signed up for the club last year, out of the three this was the only one I really liked I was so disappointed to not get any more fairytale characters, hopefully there will be more as they are adorable and so much fun to colour.

Huh?

I coloured a few of these images when I was last in Florida, I discovered colouring on kraft card and there was no stopping me. I showed this particular image to a lady at play day and she said I want it for my birthday card so here she is all made up for her, I hope she liked it.

I don't have any full sheets of this paper pad left, it has been my most used ever I think and I keep finding ways of using the last little scraps, I can't imagine what it will be like to not even have little pieces left, I can't believe Im feeling sentimental about a paper pad lol. Anyway as this is made of snippets Im entering the challenge at the Snippet Playground.

I love to cook with wine....

Ever have one of those cards that ends up nothing like you imagined but you like it anyway...yup this is one of those. I think it should have been a square card but I had already cut the papers and as I didn't have enough left for a larger card I went with what I had.

I wasn't going to paper piece her dress but I stuffed up and coloured her sleeve with skin colours and I couldn't cover it up and as I was pleased with her hair and skin I didn't want to start all over again. I used dark colours as the shadow on her dress and I'm really pleased with how dimensional it looks.

I'm visiting the snippet playground today, it feel like an age since I had a go on the swings.

Rosie, rosie give me your answer do

I still seem to be on my square card kick, although I am missing my A2 size. This is another image I've had for a while but never used until now. It is one I think I will use again though as she was so lovely to colour. Just recently my digi stamps seem to be getting more of a workout than my actual stamps.

This is my first time using the pre-printed nit wit papers, they were free with a magazine in March and this is their first outing but I might have to get more as the quality is lovely.

Dirt Bike Mike

I used an older image from Kenny K for this card, its one I've had for a while but I have been a bit afraid to colour it in as I knew it would be lots of greys. I used almost all the grey families to try to give the different areas different hues/warmth and try to give the image some areas of separation, hopefully you can see that in the picture. It was a much more fun image to colour than I expected although probably not one I will colour again for a while.

As its a guy card I wanted the rest to be pretty plain and simple, I find the rule of thumb with guy cards is less is more. The sentiment die is a bit crooked but hopefully it doesn't notice too badly.

Ingredients
Image: "dirt bike Mike" Kenny K
