Layout Obsessed?

I was obsessed with this layout from MFT, when I find one I like I don’t seem to be able to stop lol. Lots of different companies were used to make this card, the dog is from MFT and the card he is holding is blank but I wanted to add something, I found the mini set from MFT and the sentiment fitted perfectly it just needed an image so mama elephant gashapon set to the rescue. You may or may not see more of this layout and then you can decide how obsessed I was lol.

Storytime

I was hoping to use these images and make the card look like a book with them popping out of the middle but I ran out of time and steam, hopefully I can try that technique another time. I did find the colouring very therapeutic though and what a difference having matching dies makes, I love fussy cutting so the dies aren't something I normally purchase but they do make life simpler.

Jingle all the way

This card was made the same time as yesterday’s so you will be able to see the theme lol. I think maybe three reindeer was excessive but I couldn’t help myself lol. Please let me know why I fussy cut these deer as I had the matching dies!

Nursing birthday

My cousin recently announced she wants to pursue a career in nursing so of course her birthday card needed to reflect that. I again recreated a card I’ve made previously but that was a thank you so the greeting is different lol. I do like using a large die for the greeting but I don’t do that very often.

Hello Happy Birthday

I made this card a while ago and wish I had made a few more, well I suppose there is always time to make more.

Faceted Hamsters

Another batch make and again one I am pleased with. I do love the faceted stencil from Concord and 9th and now Ranger/Tim Holtz have introduced new colours they seem to match even better than before. Makes me want to get the stencil out again and make them in all the colour combos. I do need to make another girlie 7 card but I used this stencil on her card when she was 4 so I went a different direction.

Dolly Daydream

Being able to scale a digital stamp is what makes them the most versatile to me, my mum like large cards and all my stamps are sized for us a2 or Uk a6 so digital stamps are my go to for her cards, plus if I use digital paper too I can paper piece and scale that too.

It’s a fairly simple card and she liked it a lot which to me is the most important bit.

Teeny Tiny Planner Girls

Sometimes I wish I had bought dies to match the stamps when they are this teeny and then I realise that they don't make dies and also that I am a cheapstake lol.

When i was making this card during a zoom call my friend said I must really love the person I am making this for as it was a lot of work and I said I certainly do.

Robot Boy

In amongst the coloured images I found this little robot boy partially coloured in and I thought he needs to be used. this whole card came together just to use up one tiny image but I do like the finished result.

The second card in the colour combo obsession and I think its a bit busy. The recipient really liked it though so I suppose thats the most important bit.

PPPick up a Penguin

Now you might be wondering why there is a random birthday card in amongst the christmas makes, well I didn't want this person to see the card on here before their birthday so here it is lol.

I used an older Clearly Besotted set and again used the stencil I created with a Mama Elephant background die to make the circles. I do wish I had bought the dies to match these little characters but they didn't take as long as I thought to cut them all out.

Hopefully you have everything ready for the big day tomorrow and that you are getting to spend christmas with your loved ones, this year has been a particularly difficult one and I am hoping there has been some light at the end of the tunnel by now.

Mini Cat Agenda

I have been looking at he stencils at clearly besotted and spotted one that makes circles to pop small images in, now I couldn't wait for the stencil to be delivered so I found a cover plate die from Mama Elephant and I cut it from cardstock and used that. I am pleased with how this works and I can see me using it again soon, I have lots of these mini stamps that would work for this style.

I do wish I had bought the dies to match this set as it was extremely fiddly to cut out but I think its worth it in the end.

Sentiment: "to everyone" from clearly besotted and an old making cards freebie

Picture Perfect Again

Yet another one sheet wonder inspired card, the only difference is I'm using 6x6 rather than 12x12 and I'm only making two bases at a time, however I am enjoying it and it is reducing the paper mountain lol.

I wanted this set of selfies from MFT as soon as they were released but I had to wait as they kept going out of stock, I finally managed to get them in June and I have used a few already. Now this card was made a while ago but I had to wait until the recipient had received it before posting it.

Papers: Party patterns from MFT
Dies: polaroid die from MFT (retired version)

Picture Perfect

This paper has been used so many times I have lost count, it was definitely a good idea to purchase the digital version of this paper pad. Plus I can make it any size and it doesn't loose definition.

This is a larger than A2 card in fact its a 7 x 5 which isn't a size I use often however I had cut the letters at a friends house and I wanted to use them but the polaroid covered too much of them on a A2 card so I went bigger.

As it was a card for a kiddo it had to have their name and age as both of these things are essential for a kid card to be a hit, plus it had an interactive element and a hamster so I knew I was on to a winner lol.

Sentiment: "photobomb" Mama Elephant
Dies: Polaroid from MFT and friends alphabet, numbers from Hobby Lobby

Floating away

I watched a Jennifer McGuire video on YouTube and I was inspired to make this card, I didn't have everything she used but I made it work with what I had and I am pretty pleased with the results.

Now this set is a hampton art/mama elephant set so its not the same quality as mama elephant but for the same price you do get the dies, now they cut everything with a very large border, too large for me so I hand cut this one. To get the matching inside I stuck two pieces of card together temporarily and then cut once and got two, this enabled me to hide the copic colouring when you open the card.

Photobomb Again

I copied my own card, I do that quite a bit when I have loads to make and no ideas, in fact I think the last three cards I’ve made have been copies. I think if I made it and liked it then why am I trying to reinvent the wheel lol.

It’s a clean and simple card but I hope the recipient likes it and that my friends is all that matters.

I only make cards to give to friends and family, so everything you see on this blog has got a home to go to, I think I’m unusual in this and that I don’t have a stockpile of cards ready to go. I wish I could but after a week like this one (6 cards needed quickly) I need a break, so then I don’t leave myself enough time before the next lot are needed. I know I need to be more organised but it’s soooo hard lol.

Up We Go

This is another of the Florida stamp purchases and I am so glad I persevered and found all the Mama Elephant mini sets, I still have two sets to use but I am determined to use them before I put them away.

This card is fairly simple and I haven't used the dies to cut it out, I did find the dies leave a larger white border than I expected and I am not sure I like that lol.

Dos Amigos

Another inspired by Nichol Sphor card, I have had this idea in my head since I bought the stamps in Florida, it took the mojo challenge to kick start my creativity and actually make the card though. I have quite a few ideas of cards I want to make but my issue is they aren't the cards I need lol. So the age old dilemma do I strike whilst the iron is hot and make what I want or put that aside and make what I need lol.

Puppy Pals

I have used one of the new mini sets by Mama Elephant that they did for Joann, now I didn't find this set nor any of them at an actual Joann but I did at Micheals, Local craft shops and online lol. I thought they would be easy to get hold of......ummm.....nope lol.

I can see why though you get stamps and dies for an amazing price and although the stamps aren't the same quality as normal Mama Elephant they stamp lovely and they compliment the sets already out, I thought originally that they were the same images but they aren't so now I need the other sets as well.... when will it ever end.....

Its a very simple card as it was just after my return and I wanted to make something but had no idea what so I went with quick and simple. The embossing folder I bought at Joann and it was my Hubbie's idea to get it to go with the puppies. Its a lovely folder and I had forgotten just how much embossing adds to the card, I tend to not reach for the folders often maybe that should change.

OMG another novel, I promise the next post will contain less ramblings lol.
