Cute Panda

As you all know I love Panda's but the lady that introduced me to card making and helped me empty my bank account is even more obsessed with them than me lol. Sue is a lady that lives near my Mum and she gave my Mum the idea to buy me a TSV for my birthday way back in 2005, she got the idea as I was like a kid in a candy store when I saw her substantial stash and as I have always loved paper, notepads and stationary this seemed to be the perfect hobby for me. I do remember saying that even though I really enjoyed making the cards in that kit I was not going to get hooked and spend a lot, and I was right, I am not hooked I am obsessed and I haven't spent a lot I have spent a fortune lol.

I really can't thank her enough as without her I wouldn't have met all of you, shared some good and bad times with people that share my card making passion and with whom I feel a kindred connection.

Ok so now after getting all emotional I suppose I should show you the card lol. I used a gorgeous digi stamp from The Paper Shelter, so easy to colour and so adorable too.

Papers are from a lettering delights kit that I bought in their $1 sale about four years ago and have never used(edited: just went to add the link and it appears to be retired, although there are loads of new cut files and fonts to see). I used new card that I bought in October from Papertrey Ink, such a gorgeous cream craft colour I can't believe this is the first time I have cut into this colour.

New Home Case'd

I have had lots of cards to make and found my mojo whilst it was around it was suffering from placement overload, I had used all my go to sketches and was stumped then I remembered this card I made last year and as neither recipient knows the other thought I will do the same again. They both use the same image and sentiment but different colour schemes and the layout is similar but not identical.

I have been working part time since March and am loving only being three days a week, especially as since my fall I have needed to rest this painful knee and I have found my love of card making has returned. I was always making cards at the last minute and rushing but now I can take my time. I don't finish a card in one session, rather I colour one day, start arranging the layout another day and I have several of these on the go at any one time. The only downside is that as I am using papers I have printed I can't always remember where on my computer I got them from, very frustrating but means I have to be more organised and write on the back where they are from.

A special new home card for my cousin who is buying her first home with her boyfriend, just wanted to say congratulations and hope they will be very happy there, they certainly deserve it.

Quite a plain and simple card as she doesn't like a lot of fuss and definitely no pink. They are going for brown and cream colour scheme in their lounge so this seemed the perfect combination to use.

I don't have a digi stamp for a new home card except the Mo Manning one which seemed a bit too cute for this young couple so needed something different when I remembered a font from Lettering Delights called "Home Sweet Home" seemed quite appropriate really.

Wow They Grow so Fast

Hi Everyone
I managed to make a card this weekend and it's for my godson and his girlfriend who have just moved in together. I can't believe that the little boy who used to play with the labels on my clothes and cry every time I left him is so grown up. Since we moved away I haven't seen as much of him or his siblings but i do think about them a lot. I hope that they will make a home filled with joy, laughter and love. Before I start waffling and embarrass him further I will let you see the card I made them, not traditional colours but they are a thoroughly modern couple and I thought this combo worked. I used a font from Lettering Delights, they have tons of doodlebats and they work just like a digi stamp.
