Jolly Good Fellow

This card was made with the leftovers from the "beer rhymes with cheer" card I posted a few days ago, the pieces were laying on my desk so I decided to use them rather than put them in the snippet folder never to be seen again.

I was going to try a different beer look but I grabbed the same colours, oh well maybe next time.

As the card was made with snippets I'm off for a play on the swings at the snippet playground.

Superman versus Batman

I'm not a fan of either batman or superman but I do know someone who is and this card was made to wish them a very Happy Birthday. I did have to buy these stamps though as I had an idea for this very card.

The cover plate has been cut three times and layered for some dimension and after I added the three skylines it needed it. My hubbie had the idea of adding the characters with action wobblers, of course I have some but could I find them, well of course I couldn't. Luckily I was attending a craft show at Newbury racecourse and I bought some there, I did think as soon as I finished the card I would find my originals but no such luck so far.

Beer rhymes with Cheer

I ordered this set as soon as it was released as I knew exactly what I wanted to use it for. As always though life and other things have gotten in the way and I've only just used it.

The beer is stamped in peanut brittle memento ink and it took three attempts to get even coverage, thank goodness for my Misti. I might try darker colours for a more beer like look or kraft or even dark brown/black for a stout, the possibilities are endless and I hope I get lots of uses out of it.

I really enjoyed stamping the background in plaid, I bought grid paper and have a misti so not sure why I just winged it but it looks ok.

Racing Leon

I followed the same principal as last year when making all the first birthday cards and decided on a design and as the majority don't know each other I was able to mass produce them and make them all slightly different. I used greeting farm princesses for all the girls and was going to use a greeting farm boy when I remembered I bought this image before Wee stamps digi shop closed specifically for this card.

It was a blast to colour and a nice easy card to put together, now I just need to think about the mass production for all their third birthdays lol.

New Baby Boy

This is such a perfect baby image for both boys and girls although to be honest I've only ever coloured it in blue, think I might have to rectify that. My lovely neighbours eldest daughter had a bouncing baby boy recently and I wanted to welcome this bundle of joy with a card and a little gift.

Reflection

In case you were wondering, yes I have used the "sweet owl" first edition papers again and yes they were still on my desk lol. I think this might be the last card with them for a while but I can't promise anything. I'm not sure if everyone is like this but I bought this paper pad a while ago, made two cards straight away and then it got filed away and forgotten about. I was thumbing through my papers and the pad made a bid for freedom and fell to the floor and I thought ok you must really want to be used so use it I have.

I have been watching a few youtube card videos and one lady in particular uses a limited copic colouring palette and I thought I would try it on this and I really like it. Normally I would have used very different browns for the hair and mirror but using the same family and a few of the same pens makes it more cohesive. Plus it means my desk doesn't have every copic I own strewn across it lol.

Chocolate = Happiness

Those that have followed my blog for a while will know of my fondness for all things chocolate, stamps, inks, papers even card all come home with me if they have the word "chocolate" in them. Sometimes it takes me a while to get round to using them though and I have had this little lady for a year and this is her first outing, I think it might not be her last though.

All the papers were already on my desk and I made the card in the same style as one I showed earlier this week, sometimes its easier to make two than one. So I feel that I can hop along to the Snippet Playground with this one.

The copic pink colours were a bit different for me as I mixed reds and red violets, well its all thanks to Sandy Allnock and her "hex chart". I printed, coloured it and used it all in the same day. I did realise that quite a few colours are almost identical and I probably didn't need them all but hey I'm a collector ;).

Happiness is Homemade

One of the Bristol Playday ladies makes the most exquisite cakes and it seemed appropriate that her card would have a cake on it.

I apologise about the lighting on this card but I took the picture and had already posted the card before I realised how bad the lighting was.

I recently bought the spellbinders scalloped circles from my good friend Kelly, Ive wanted them since I can remember so to finally be able to use them makes me happy, of course the trend now is not to have them on cards but I like them so I'm going to use them, I was never one to follow fashion lol.

My Hero

This image has been in my Bristol play day bag for a year, I was cleaning it ready for the next play day when I spotted this at the bottom of my images bag. As soon as I spotted him I knew exactly how I wanted to put the card together and this ended up being a quick card. It is a little busier than I intended but I'm pleased with how a neglected image became a lovely card.

Normally I list the copics I've used to colour but this time I have no idea lol, I could probably guess but maybe not lol.

Basketball Jacket

This was a must have die from last year that has been used ONCE before, I think if I never buy another thing I still wont use every item I have in two lifetimes lol. This idea just sort of evolved and is nothing like the card I set out to make but I think it works. I have left off the sentiment but I have left space at the bottom for it intentionally.

Ingredients
Dies: Zipper, basketball, blueprint 15 all from MFT, polka dot parade numbers from Papertrey ink
Card: "pacific blue" and "basic grey" both Stampin up, "canyon clay" from Papertrey Ink and Michaels white 110lb

Jeepers Creepers

I recently attended the sincerely yours craft show in Taunton, one of the Bristol playday rules is you have to make something before the next playday using your new goodies. So I decided even though my mojo is still on holiday I had better get something made.

I bought this woodware Sneaker stamp as I thought it would be prefect for both girl and boy teenager cards. I should add that this is a huge stamp and completely filled an A2 card so I have had to make a 6X6 square card just to fit it on.

I paper pieced the sneakers which was fairly time-consuming as I had to cut each and every lace but I like the effect and will probably do this again.

I made a card recently using the avery elle custom panels to create a similar look but in the end I gave in and bought the MFT ones so now I have options lol.

Ingredients

Card: real red, tempting turquoise and basic grey all Stampin Up

Altenew Vintage Roses

This card and purchase of the stamp set was inspired by the uber enabler Jennifer McGuire. I kind of wish I had added more roses but there is always next time. I needed this card to be posted so that the recipient knew I was thinking of them at this very difficult time. I think even though I'm not a fan of bulk making I might just make a few of these as when I do need them I find it a very difficult process.
