Oh Snap - Gingerbread

Kay has been challenging me to make a card every Sunday using a sketch she provides, I must say Ive been enjoying it and it brings me out of my comfort zone as I always struggle with sketches.

As soon as I saw the sketch I knew exactly what I was going to do and for once it looks exactly as I envisioned.

I love anything gingerbread but especially gingerbread men, I went gaga over this lawn fawn set and had to have it as soon as it was released.

Winter Penguin

I have been liking Nichol Magourik's cards with the frames for a while, she uses frames on most of her cards and I think its very effective. I don't have any large rectangle dies so I used a blueprint and the largest rectangle from the cross stitch stax to create the frame, there are two layers but I think I should have cut a third.

This is definitely a style I will be using again as I think it makes a very plain card pop.

Ingredients
Image: "winter penguin" Lawn Fawn

Call me Peep

I have finally used this stamp from stamping bella, it is such a cute stamp I can't believe I've waited so long to use it. I was originally looking for an uptown girl but this caught my eye and I decided it was about time she was used.

I've used the free paper pack again, this is such a lovely colour scheme and even though the paper is thin it die cuts beautifully. I've used a very simple layout on this card and allowed the paper to dictate the design, i like the fact that the crown and doilies were already printed.

Tress Again

I enjoyed making the Beauty and Slippers cards at the same time so I thought as I have three more 2nd girl birthday cards to make I would make them at the same time. I have gone for a different colour palette but kept the layout the same. By the time this publishes I think you might have seen all the other ones except one. I made them all in March but in case their mums read my blog I haven't published them until after their actual birthdays.

Saturated Canary Soda Pop

I had to buy the digital magazine when the saturated canary stamps were in it, especially once I saw this image. I had someone in mind for this image but I changed my mind and made her a very different card but I still wanted to use this girl on a card.

This is a tried and tested layout for me and one I return to often especially when the mojo is wavering, this layout seems to jump start my creativity.

A Hello Card

Sometimes its nice to be able to just send a card to say hello, normally I spend most of my time making cards for occasions, birthday, new home, new baby, wedding, christmas I never seem to make just because cards.

I am so ahead with my birthday cards for 2015 and Ive also started my christmas cards so I thought I would make this to include with a little package to a friend. I hope she liked the package and the card and fingers crossed I can continue to find time to make this type of card more.

Before anyone asks, yes I am addicted to the "smokey shadow" card from paper trey ink lol

Polished to Perfection the sequel

I absolutely love this stamp from MFT, the a la modes where the reason I started shopping there and I wish they still carried the line. At least I have most of them, some still uninked but I hope to remedy that soon.

I followed a sketch that Kay has been posting each week and I have been enjoying playing along, now this sketch was in August (when I made the card) but obviously I couldn't show the card until after the person's birthday. I have been trying to get all my birthday cards until the end of the year made and ready as I have a lot of christmas cards to make and I lose the birthday mojo once I'm in full on Christmas mode.

From the Whole Herd

These animals were just sitting on my desk waiting to be made into a card so I decided to go very clean and simple and this is the result. Next time I might just go with less animals though.

The background was made using white card and distress inks, I like this effect a lot, simple but effective my favourite kind lol.

You're My Cup of Tea

I made this card as soon as the paper pack arrived along with the August magazine but unfortunately I couldn't show the card until after the recipients birthday. It is a gorgeous paper pack, greys and pinks one of my favourite combos and I know that you will be seeing much more of this one.

The person I made the card for is a big tea drinker in fact its a bit of a joke that they drink so much tea that the kettle is never off, so of course it was only natural for me to make a tea inspired card.
