Mothers Day 2020

Now I realise that Mother's Day in the UK was in March but somehow these cards didn't get shown. I think at the time we had just entered lockdown and my attention was elsewhere.

Both my Mum and MIL loved the cards though so there is that. It was probably one of the only Mother's Day where I didn't get to see either of them.

Of course now as I am typing this I can't remember what I used lol

Last of the One Sheet Wonder cards......probably lol

I bet you thought you had seen the last of these cards....well I found one background that I hadn't used so I decided it is better to use it than lose it and a quick card was made.

I have enjoyed these stamps from Making cards and have lost count of the amount that I have used them, it is probably one of my most used sets ever!!!!

Big Gorjuss Girl

I have used this large image before but not on an A2 card, I have to admit she works perfectly. These large stamps are a joy to colour and gives the opportunity to practise hair.

This is such a large stamp that the card didn't need much else to be completed. I did use a stencil and distress oxide ink on the background but it is hardly noticeable.

Anwen's First Birthday

What do you do when you have used your go to image for the big sisters first birthday card....well you search throught your Mo Manning digis for the perfect alternative lol.

I already had the paper and card on my desk so I decided why not use it for this card as well. I made this card back in May during the height of lockdown and when I wasn't sure what was happening so i tasked myself with making all the years birthday cards before lockdown ended....now when I am writing this entry it is August and I succeeded in making all the cards and lockdown is easing if not over. Of course by the time this publishes the situation could have changed but I am hoping it hasn't.

The desin is my goto for baby cards and I really like to include their name, especially when it is unusual like this one. In case you were wondering the name is Welsh and means "very beautiful" which of course she is.

Sending Love and Hearts

Another of the MFT retreat cards and one I really like, the sentiment in different colours really makes it pop and not something I ever really do. I do think I should try this more often and thats what I get from the classes, the inspiration to try stuff I wouldn't normally do.

Birthday Bear

I had been to Snazzy Craftshop and purchased the Heffy Doodle circle mask stencil and whilst on a zoom call with my friends I decided to try it out. I had aleady coloured a moped (now I know thats not what is on the card lol) and decided to make a background for the moped to sit in front of.

The green got a little dark and when I tried the moped it clashed so rather than throw the piece away I found an already coloured bear and just stamped and coloured the balloons and instant card lol.

I also tried the new speckled egg distress oxide for the clouds and I really like it.

Ingredients
Image and Sentiment: birthday bears from MFT
Dies: A2 stitched rectangle stax from MFT
Stencils: Circle mask from Heffy Doodle and mini cloud and hills and slopes from MFT
Inks: mowed lawn and speckled egg Distress oxides

Birthday Balloons

Another of the cards from the MFT retreat box, I really like this simple but effective design and the black and white paper really sets off the colourful balloons.

Balloon Birthday Wish

During lockdown I was trying to tidy my craftroom and I discovered a box of cards I had made at the MFT retreat years ago, there were lots in the box and I thought these should really be used and sent out. No point in making something to have it sit in a box.

Of course as I made it at a retreat I can tell you it contains only MFT products but not which ones lol.

As Cute as ABC

I bought these stamps to be able to create cards for those peeps who have either unusual names or unusual spellings, this card is for one such individual and I hope she likes the fact it has her name on it.

Not much else to say about the card, its a simple design which seems to be all I can create lately lol.

Ingredients
Images: As cute as ABC sets 1&2 from Clearly Besotted
Sentiment: creative stamping
Dies: horizontal strips and blueprints 13 both retired MFT stamps
Paper: Over the rainbow paper pad from MFT

Get Well Soon

One of my crafty friends Hubbie's had an operation and I thought during these trying times a card might make him feel better. I had seen a variation of this when the dies were first introduced and it stuck with me ever since. I coloured the plasters/band aids to look realistic and didn't add a red background like I was originally going to lol.

I hope he liked the card and is well on the way to recovery. It did make me realise that I don't have a stock of cards for occasions like this and maybe I should.

Ingredients
Sentiment: keep it simple get well from Papertrey Ink
Dies: basic stitched edges and band aids both from MFT
