Making cards stripes 2

This was the card I showed my friend and she thought was for her daughter, I was going to go with the same colours but decided to mix it up slightly and I do mean slightly lol.

These stamps from making cards are probably my most used stamps ever, I reach for them all the time but I do think I will run out of people to send them to before I run out of times I want to use them.

Making cards stripes

This card came about during a chat with a non crafty friend, I was showing her a card and she asked if it was for her daughter as it was very her and I thought maybe I should just get on and make her the same card. I did say I have made a lot of stripy cards and she made a very valid point she asked “have you enjoyed making them” I said “yes” and she said “what’s the issue then, the people you are making them for don’t know you’ve made 20 of that design, they just think she made me a card”. Her words gave me a different perspective and renewed my enthusiasm for making, that’s the danger sometimes with this hobby you forget that it’s about the recipient and not about the latest technique or stamp, not that I don’t want the latest stamp or to use that new technique but it should be organic not forced.

Wake Up Make Up

Only the second outing for this stamp set but it’s already a firm favourite. I was inspired by the design team for the placement and I still had the shaped die on my desk from the hedgehog card so I decided to use it again before putting it away.

Sparkle

Sometimes you just want to go to town and colour an image even if it scares you lol. this is one such image and it came out even better than I could have imagined.

Of course once she was coloured I didn't want to cover all that up with lots of layers so I went very simple and let the image play centre stage.

Racing 50

A lockdown big birthday is very different to how you imagine you will be spending it, when I had my lockdown 50th last year I joked with a friend that at least he would be able to celebrate his but here we are and nope he can't. Hopefully though we will both get to celebrate large soon.

I wanted to try another of the shaped cards, I had made on for my mums 70th and loved it so decided I wanted to see what 50 looked like. My friend Kathleen had made the 70 one for me on her scan and cut so I thought I should have a go on my cricut and it was easier than I expected, so all I can say is expect lots of these on here in the future lol.

My friend is a fan of formula one and his team is mercedes so I based the card around that theme, I used the newest creative stamping for the background images and the formula one car and found images on the net to colour the car with the colours of the mercedes team.

Thinking of you

I really don't like making this type of card and I always feel like i am tempting fate if I have any ready made but once you get the sad news it is really difficult to make a card and send it in a timely manner so I might need to have a few on hand just in case.

Quite a few dear friends have lost people recently and I wanted them to know I was thinking of them, I never know what to say in these circumstances but I hope they know I am thinking of them.

Green Stripes take 3 - the final one

This is the last of the green stripy cards, at least for now. I can't promise there won't be more though because they are so much fun to make and I can sit and chat whilst making them and I rarely mess them up lol.

I used a different die for this one and the stripes are bigger because they are the bits left after I have cut the thinner stripes lol.

The image was already coloured and in my draw but I changed her dress and bow to match the stripes and I also redid her hair to make it darker.

Green Stripes take 2

This card is the one I made the green stripes for, the lady that started my cardmaking journey all those years ago loves Pandas and green is her favourite colour so i decided what better idea for a card than the stripy backgrounds I have been telling her I have been making and a cute panda image lol.

Not much else to say except she loved the card and she said it brightened her day which is always lovely to hear.

Green Stripes

Oh no another stripy card I hear you say, now maybe I should apologise for all the stripy cards but I just can't lol. You see I just can't seem to stop making them and as the saying goes "once you pop, you can't stop" and that is certainly the case with me at the moment. I had made the green stripes for a particular card and there were quite a few left over so I thought maybe I should use them up rather than throw away and so I made two more cards and this is one of them.

One I had made the background I needed an image and I found this in my coloured images draw and it was coloured in 2013, can you believe it and it still looks ok lol.

Apologies and a Card

Hello everyone, long time no speak. I will start this post by apologising for my long unintended break from my blog. I never intended to be away this long, in fact I never intended to have a break at all but sometimes life just gets in the way. We are all well and no one was sick but I am finding the current situation with the lockdown, virus and pandemic very hard.

I would never have considered myself a great hugger but not being able to hug anyone for a year has meant that I have missed it more than I could ever have imagined and when I do get to hug people I am going to struggle to let go.

Anywho you didn't come here to think about the outside world you came to see a card and thats exactly what you are going to get, a nice cheery card to boot lol. Is there anything cuter than a little one with a pram?
