Sunset Glasses

Sometimes a new stamp and die comes out that totally changes the way you look at your supplies and the way you create and this was one of those for me. As soon as I saw it I was in awe and couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I stamped and coloured all three landscapes and had no idea how I was going to make them into cards when I had an idea and it totally worked.

Ingredients
Image: Spectacular Adventure from Altenew
Inks: Wilted violet, chipped sapphire and salty ocean and black soot distress oxide inks
Stencil: Cityscape from Clearly Besotted
Die: Blueprints 31 from MFT

Platypus Dreams

I am not sure what I was thinking when I started this card and it went a completely different way than I was expecting but sometimes that is just how it is meant to be.

Brownies

Not the chocolate varieties but the girl guides one. I am ashamed to admit how long this poor stamp has been sitting and waiting to be used but she has finally and that is all that matters lol.

Not much else to say except this new die from the works is fab and I need to remember to use it again soon.

Ingredients

Sentiment: the works

Dies: simon says stamp scalloped wavy border

Paper: MFT

Creative Stamping Gnomes

I am so glad I subscribed to this magazine, every month there is something different and it’s not stuff I would normally gravitate towards so I like that it pushes me out of my comfort zone.

I have challenged myself to use the stamps before the next magazine comes but as usual I’m a little behind lol.

This issue came out ages ago and the card was for an October birthday and I’m just getting around to showing it now.

I also used a gel plate background I made and I haven’t used the plate since lol.

Ingredients

Sentiment: as above

Dies: stitched tag corner rectangle stax and A2 stitched rectangle stax both from MFT

Dripping Ice Cream

When my friend sent me the cupcake last year she also sent this ice cream and I couldn’t wait to colour it.

The drip across the top was made using a stencil and the new at the time kitsch flamingo oxide ink, I combined flamingo with spun sugar and picked raspberry and it makes a gorgeous ombré.

Paper Piecing Golf

On a recent call one of the ladies had used the huge happy birthday from woodware to paper piece some birthday cards and it made me remember I had this set and the fishing one so of course I had to use them and paper piece them as well. I do wish I had bought the happy birthday when it was available everywhere.

Creative Stamping Elephant

I recently subscribed to creative stamping magazine and I made a challenge to myself to make at least one card before the next magazine arrives and so far I have stuck to that. This card came together really quickly and even though there is no colouring I am pleased with it.

I wrote this post last year and I would like to say I stuck to the rule I made but sadly I haven’t. Maybe it is one I need to work on this year.

Ingredients

Sentiment: Papertrey Ink
Ink: Peacock feathers, mowed lawn and mermaid lagoon distress inks

Same but different shoe card

This looks very similar to the ones I made last year but it’s not the same because I was in a rush and also used a new set of alcohol markers to colour it and didn’t have any papers to match lol.

I think I prefer the other version but I am sure the recipient won’t notice lol.
