Level Up Version 1

This is definitely going to be the year of batch making, I seem to be grouping similar age and interest people together and this is helping keep my stress levels at bay. I know cardmaking isn't supposed to be stressful but I just get in my own head sometimes and then I don't seem to be able to just play and create. I was hoping this year would be different but not so far lol.

Anyway onto the card, whilst I was looking for the CC designs birthday candles digi stamp on my computer I came across this image and knew it would be perfect for those teenage boys. I had only just finished the magnificent 7 boy cards and I had used this layout for those and thought it works so why not. It did make them fairly simple to assemble once I started. All the boys look different though as I used their hair colour to match them in real life.

Mothers Day Uk

I watched a Jennifer McGuire video and she created this type of card and I had a lightbulb moment and thought that would work with the honey bee set I bought last year. 

Now I don't buy the matching dies very often if at all but this set made apertures so I bought them. Of course the aperture was too big for this card so I ended up with a circle (which i now wish was smaller lol). The whole thing was going swimmingly until in my wisdom I decided that as I had the matching die I would cut several layers and use it behind each set of flowers doh!!!! of course now they don't bend so the card doesn't work as well but I am still pleased with it.

Elegant 21

I used my go to eclipse for their 18th and the large number style for her brothers 18 so I needed a new design. I bought these numbers and I did hope they would be larger but even though they aren't I still struggled to fit them in lol.

I am pleased with the colouring on this one, she came out even better than I hoped. There are 2 ladies turning 21 this year so of course I made them both at the same time, I won't show the other one until after her birthday but lets just say I am glad I was making the two at the same time as I was able to mix and match.

 

Birthday Candles - Boys version 2

 This is the same as the last card except the cat is a different colour and was done to match the family cat. I really wish CC Designs did more digital stamps, I love being able to make them large like this as I know I will use them more this way.

Birthday Candles - Boys

I have already shown the CC Designs birthday candles I made for the 2 year old girls, well I learnt all about the amount of ink needed to colour the candle from this card lol. I should have paper pieced this one as well but I hadn't saved it so had no idea what size it was so I had to colour it with my copics. I do think they make a statement although looking at it now I wish I had added a sentiment and maybe a name. 

A bit of everything with golf

I used this digital stamp last year but unfortunately it wasn't released until after this persons birthday so of course I had to use it this year. I am still obsessed with the MFT birthday stamp and the notched die from Pink and Main. I wonder what the next obsession will be lol.

The Big 6 are 10 style 2 version 1

This year saw a kind of departure from my normal same design different colourways for the big 6. I had already made the first card for the year and was trying to decide on the cards for the other girls when Polkadoodle released the rebel range. Of course I had to buy it all and I decided they were perfect for the remaining girls. As usual I won't be showing the other designs/colours until after their birthdays but this is the first one and I really like the images, hopefully I will use them again soon.

Magnificent 7 are 2

The magnificent 7 are 2 this year and I decided to try and get their cards made in one batch even though they are spread throughout the year. I started doing that with the Big 6 when they were about 5 so this time I decided to start earlier and I hope that its a tradition I stick too as it makes life so much easier. 

All the boy cards are the same but different as they all use the same sketch and mostly the same papers but I did have to change a few of the images as the one I was going to use I had used for a few big brothers lol. 

So these are the first ones and both use the Wee Stamps image that I absolutely adore. Of course I forgot to photograph the opposite design but the main difference was the car is red not blue

Faceted Hamsters

Another batch make and again one I am pleased with. I do love the faceted stencil from Concord and 9th and now Ranger/Tim Holtz have introduced new colours they seem to match even better than before. Makes me want to get the stencil out again and make them in all the colour combos. I do need to make another girlie 7 card but I used this stencil on her card when she was 4 so I went a different direction.

Birthday Candles - Girlie

There might be a theme to this years kid birthday cards….I bought the digital version of the Cc Design birthday candles so I can make them huge so of course I did lol. 

The problem with making them larger is the amount of colour the number takes so for these ones I used digital paper and paper pieced them. I also printed the background to match rather than trying to find matching cardstock in my stash. I do miss Pink Petticoat they did the best designs and in tons of colours too.

Another thing I’m using a lot is the notched rectangle from pink and main, it’s the perfect size and leaves a small border around the edge of the card which I really like.
