As this little boy doesn’t live in wales I decided the dragon could be a different colour so I went with greens and blues. I do love this colour combo. Everything else is exactly the same, it felt good to get all the cards made in one session even though the birthdays are spread out.
I made two of this card design but only added a sentiment to the one, I was asked to not add a sentiment as the lady likes to display them and if it says happy birthday then people ask if it’s her birthday lol.
I am a very literal person and to me as a Welsh lady all dragons are red and as these cards are also going to Welsh ladies it seemed appropriate to go red for them too lol. Plus it has a daffodil so I don't think it could represent wales more without the flag lol.
I just typed the heading and I am struggling to remember which name i use for these delicious cakes lol. Also does everyone else have an order you eat them in? Mine is pink, yellow and finally chocolate, I imagine most would put yellow first but I like the lemony flavour lol.
Enough of the cake stuff onto the card, I made this for a good friends birthday and although I am not sure she likes these cakes I do know she likes cake a lot lol.
I designed and made the stencil myself, something that would have been alien to me only a few years ago.
Only thing left is to wish my crafty, cake loving friend a happy birthday.
The creative stamping magazine that these stamps came from was absolutely amazing, I love that all the best British biscuits are represented, that said I only included shortbread on this one as its my friends favourite. This card is winging its way to Florida and I hope she likes it and that she had an amazing birthday.
I went with a tried and tested design that I haven't made in a while, I used to love stamping and colouring my own backgrounds and this brought that back to me. I do think I might have to make more like this.
My cousin is visiting from Australia (by the time this publishes he will already be back there ☹️). He had a biggish birthday when he arrived and never having made him a card before I thought I should, I went with this image because he is obviously Welsh and he is also a comedian. The added green background makes it look more like the welsh flag and that was intentional.
He was shocked that I hand coloured the image as it looked printed to him, I do think that is high praise from a non-crafter.
The only boy from the big 6 deserved a card fit for a football crazy boy. I adore the lili of the valley digital stamps they make it so easy to resize etc but of course I printed this the exact same size it would have been as a stamp lol.
The stencil was a very recent purchase from hunkydory and I also suppose it could be used for a fishing net.... of now the cogs are turning.
I wasn't sure how I was going to make a more special card than I did for my BIL's 30th birthday when I made an exploding box (first and only lol) so I decided to just make one that had a huge 40 on it. I can't believe I used the same papers as the 30 though lol goes to show I like them.
I am hoping that his birthday was a day to remember and that he enjoyed playing xbox games with us.

The last of the gamer cards and hopefully the recipient liked it, it wasn’t my plan for his card but I knew next year he would be too old for this image so it was use it now or never.
I like the colouring on this one the best, I think the hair is definitely my favourite.
A second version of the Sheetload cards challenge but this time I went with masculine colours and a cute pug from aall and create.

Sometimes new to me goodies need to all be used on one card and that’s exactly what happened here. A friend was selling some of her altenew stash so I bought it and decided to use it all lol. Normally the stuff would sit for about a thousand years before I touch it but this time I was inspired.
I discovered this challenge after attending one of the “stamp me some love” cardmaking events, I watched a video from Alicia (crafty al) and she mentioned her challenge that is monthly so I went and looked and I was hooked. I sat and cut a few sheets of paper and made a sheetload of backgrounds, I will hopefully be adding images and finishing them all soon.
But to start here are two using a set from Lil Inker, I love the look that the coffee inside the cup gives. Writing this post makes me want to make more and that’s the thing I love the most about this blog, it makes me want to craft .
