A Bloke Card

I think I may be a bit unusual as I often hear people say they find male cards difficult but I think I find them easier. I did say I was unusual, maybe its because as much as I try when I put flowers on a card i don't know when less is more. I suppose its not the worst skill to master and sketches definitely help.

Another 1st

I am trying to be more organised this year and have already made a christmas card, I know everyone is probably sick of them but I am quite proud of this one so wanted to post it. I do have a confession to make.....last year I even forgot to post the shop bought cards....I am convinced there is little to no hope for me but I keep trying.

Everyone in the office I work in donate any ribbon and buttons to me and most weeks I find an envelope on my desk with all sorts of bits in. The ribbon on the card was in one such envelope and there is still loads left.

Ingredients
Paper: thecrafttable "Winter Wonderland" ( freebie)
Card: Paper Mill
Ribbon: a belt from a jumper ( thank you Liz)

Medium: Copics, glossy accents and stickles

I won some bling candy

Yay, hoorah, can't believe I have won my first ever bling candy. The lovely Michelle offered some gorgeous bling with dragonflies and butterflies and allsorts as a giveaway and I won, still can't quite believe it. I followed Michelle's cards from a craft forum and was always amazed by the elegance and sophistication of her creations. Thank you Michelle you have made my day.

A Card for a Change

Well the snow has melted and it look my mojo with it. I haven't made a card for nearly a week and I have loads to make. I seem to have ideas for cards I don't need for ages but the ones due in the next few weeks...nadda...diddly...squat. Maybe i should put an ad in the local paper " Crafter loses Mojo, reward offered", maybe that should be "Woman lost in maze of paper packs...it has been several weeks since she was last seen entering her craftroom"

Oh well enough of my ramblings and on with the card, simple design using a layout I seem to favour when my mojo is on holiday.

Design Papers: Funky fairy papercrafts ( now closed boohoo!)

Worlds Largest Snowball

Well today I saw the largest snowball being pushed along my snowbound street by three teenage girls. The ball was taller than each of them and could only be moved by lying on the ground and pushing with their legs. It had gained even more weight before it disappeared from view. I wonder where it has ended up and how big it eventually grew. Wiltshire this morning looked almost magical, neighbours children were having snowball fights in the street and I couldn't get in to work. Freezing conditions overnight threaten to turn the lovely snow into an icerink. Hope you are safe and warm wherever you are.

Snow, oh the joys of Snow

Well I hope you are safe and warm wherever you are, I have been watching the weather forecasts with interest, can't say i ever watch when its raining or even sunny just when it snows. It is really strange cos every year I want it to snow for Christmas like it did once when I was a kid. I woke on that magical morning to find lots of presents from Father Christmas and a magical almost glitter like covering of snow outside. I don't remember everyone panic buying at the supermarket, or the accidents only that magical feeling. Now however with the passage of time the magical feeling is replaced by reality. The few days before Christmas when the roads were like an ice rink and people weren't sure they could get to us for Christmas were a nightmare, no magical feeling anywhere to be found. Once all the guests arrived and the food was all bought I would have been happy for a few snowflakes but alas no my wish wasn't answered. Now that we are all back to work and the decorations are put away for another year it starts to snow again...oh well there is nothing for it will have to find the sledge to get to work tomorrow. Well that is quite enough from me.

Bright Boy Birthday Card

I have been asked by my Mum to make a card for her friends one year old son, I normally make these cards in pale blue and use a tried and tested design but her friend is not traditional and my Mum wanted bright colours, so had to think differently. I have used a "Nitwit" download, absolutely love this designers stuff, have more kits than I care to admit to and could always use a few more. I missed the blue polkadot sky when I made the card so not completely happy with it, but they don't know there was supposed to be a blue sky so hopefully they will like it. Shh don't tell them...lol.

Engagement Card

Well today I needed to make an Engagement card for two of my workmates who have decided to tie the knot. I couldn't be happier for them. It is a fairly simple card but the end result is really elegant. I need to remind myself that less can indeed be more. I sometimes tend to over complicate the card and the image or effect gets lost in the flowers, bling, pearls etc. So maybe my second New Years resolution should be .....when it looks finished, it really is!

Supplies

Cardstock - DCWV Metallics, Anita Card Blank
Designer Paper - Pink Petticoat "Flourishes"
Hearts cut on Cricut.
Design inspired by "a load of old pickle" blog

Portfolio = Craft Shopping

My husband asked me to find ways to improve his investment portfolio, and after searching for a way to incorporate this into a craft shopping spree I discovered the following definitions. He seemed surprised that I choose definition 1, does he not know me!

portfolio
|pôrtˈfōlēˌō|
noun ( pl. -os)1 a large, thin, flat case for loose sheets of paper such as drawings ormaps.a set of pieces of creative work collected by someone to display their skills, esp. to a potential employer.a varied set of photographs of a model or actor intended to be shown to a potential employer.2 a range of investments held by a person or organization.
Note to self : anything can be turned to a craft shopping spree with enough effort.
Hello

This is my very first post on my very first blog. I decided that my New Year resolution was to start a blog and as I have never kept to any before I didn't expect to be starting this tonight. All I have to do now is work out how to post a picture and I will be laughing!

Well loading a picture was simple. If only everything in life was. I have listed the items I used to create this card below, if you would like additional details, please feel free to leave a comment.

Cardstock : Co'redinations
Designer Papers : Shabby Princess "Cozy Sweater"
