Happy 50th Birthday Debsie

As soon as I saw this image and sentiment I knew it would be perfect for her, she likes a laugh and a joke and a nice, flowery card just wouldn't do.

It is my cousins 50th birthday today and I wanted to shout it from the rooftops just like she did for my 40th lol.

Its that time of the Year

Well it is that time of the year in the UK, exam results time and I have made two cards for two very special people who have done really well in their exams. The first one is Luke, you may remember his birthday card earlier in the year with the hockey player on. This image is a little babyish for such a wonderful young man but I didn't want to use an image of a graduation as I know for sure I will need one of those in his future.

I used the josy rose nailheads again and am so loving these, have started to know when they are set as well without burning my fingers lol.

Ingredients
Papers & Frame: Summer Driggs "Freedom ain't Free"
Cardstock: Stash
Stars: Josy Rose

Fly me to the moon.....

I seem to be posting all my cards with song titles lol, I thought of this one as soon as I saw this image. Mo has an uncanny ability to capture emotion in her creations. The plain and simple layout seems to be working for me at the moment and I say so long as I am creating then does it matter if they all have a similar look does it?

Its my first twisted easel card and it wasn't as easy as it should have been lol, I stuck the image to the card front on his side so had to unstick it and it nearly tore and ruined the whole thing, when you look at it now you would never know lol. I haven't put the sentiment on the star yet but I think you can guess what it will say.

Coloured with copics and of course some glossy accents, there is even an embossing folder on this one, really pushing the boat out.

Used snippets of cardstock and the red card never even made if as far as the snippet draw as I made this as soon as I finished the hero card from earlier in the week. As for recycling/reusing I cut the star for the hero card and then didn't need it and rather than just put it in the embellishment draw I used it on this card....check me out.

Ingredients
Image: Mo " Dream"
Papers: Echo Park "Little Boy" Digital
Cardstock: Red - Snippet from Stampin up and navy - from the snippet box but not sure where from originally.
Star: Leftover from Hero card.

It don't mean a thing if you ain't got that swing

Does the title make you feel like singing lol. It's the first thing I thought of when I saw this image. Hopefully it will bring a smile to the face of the recipient.

Coloured with copics and of course the glossy accents (doesn't feel finished until I add the glossy accents lol)

No snippets on this one - shock horror all new items , it did feel strange not having any ready to go snippets in the right colour, I will though for the next card in this colour combo lol.

Here he comes to save the day

Well another weekend over and back to work, especially not looking forward to this week as was supposed to be on holiday...boohoo, but as the flights are soooo expensive I will be saving my precious days for another time.

Anyway enough waffle - back to the card Amanda, been playing with kenny k's again, I know, I know when I get some new stamps that is all you ever see lol. This one was so much fun to colour and I made it for hubbies birthday in September, how organised am I. Don't worry he doesn't read my blog so will never see it until the day, but just in case I left off the sentiment that would give the game away. In the last nitwits sale I bought the Super Stuey kit and wondered when I would use it but as soon as I saw this image I knew, sometimes things are just meant to go together.

I bought some stampin up real red for my christmas cards as I like the idea of being able to keep getting the same true colour match and I must say I am impressed, it cut like a dream and the colour is real bright red, just perfect for all the male cards I make, will be buying more and have a plan to get all the colours lol. I never seem to be able to get just one or even the ones I think I will like I seem to need/want them all.

Woman of your Dreams?

I had the idea for this card a while ago and only just got round to making it. I love the three sided cards I have seen at Jules and Kerry's blogs and thought it would make an excellent idea for my BIL birthday. I used 2 6x6 card blanks and stuck them together to form a three sided card. I have folded it differently as I wanted the inner image to be hidden. I used images from Kenny K and Bugaboo and the sentiments are computer generated using Bookworm font. My BIL's favourite colour is yellow so had to use that on the card, summer driggs to the rescue as all the yellow's I thought of were to babyish for a 28 year old.

The finished card with all three sides showing. The other side is a collage of the ticket we bought him for his present, thank goodness for tickets via email you can print multiple times.

The woman of his dreams complete with yellow bikini and glossy accented sunglasses. Decided on red hair as it seemed to go best with the yellow.

And finally the joke bit...lol... I just hope he likes it too.

Another Kenny K

I feel as though I have an addiction, My name is Amanda and I have bought seven, yes seven Kenny K's this month. It all started with my bil birthday card and wanting a racy image and the rest they say is history.

I used the out of the box technique on this one and must say I think she works really well like this. Coloured with my trusty copics and a bit of spica on her eyelids. Used the snippets from a snippet card last week, feels strange to be using snippets from snippets lol. The paper was in my snippet draw but hasn't been previously used, is anyone else guilty of this....when I get a new digi paper kit I print all my favourites just to see the colours properly make a card with the one that I like the most and shove the rest in my snippet draw. So technically this is a proper snippet make lol.

Please excuse the fuzzy picture, I took a quick picture before I sent the card and unfortunately its not a good one.

Another Good Luck Wish

I seem to be making quite a few new job cards recently and now I have to say goodbye and good luck to another.

I used teal and mocha as teal is her favourite colour and she just loves chocolate lol. Used my favourite image for new job card - lola rose and kept the card fairly simple. Did however use my new stampin up embossing folder for the first time.

Mind that Wall

Morning All

I seem to be making cards earlier and earlier so can't show them on here until after there birthdays so today I decided to make a card just for fun. I have recently bought a few kenny k images so decided to use one for this card.

Coloured with my trusty copics and using paper from a previous card and cardstock from my snippet draw I came up with this simple card.

I used a Tim Holtz embossing folder for the wall but it looked too plain so decided to use my distress inks to grunge it up a bit. I am always a bit anxious when I start with the inks as I haven't mastered the art of inking yet, I tried the applicator and it went ok but then I tried a plain old shaving brush and hey presto better coverage and control for me and I now want to ink everything in sight lol.
