Welcome Little One

So last Saturday was the day we have finally welcomed baby Lily into the world, and I can't wait to see her. She weighed in at a very respectable 9lbs 13 oz and is the largest baby we have ever had in the family by almost a pound lol.

I made a very different style card from my normal new baby cards as I knew this throughly modern mummy would like the cas style.

I shrunk the papers to a tiny scale so that when I stamped the onesie they would look like they were patterned. I then fussy cut them and I thought they needed a white border so I cut the onesie die and stuck them on.

Skater Girl

I bought this stamp in the sale at Quixotic Paperie and it is one I have been after for a while. I had the snippets on my desk after a bit of a tidy up and decided to use the scraps rather than find somewhere to store them lol. I wish it was so easy to use all my scraps this way, I need to find a way to store my 6 x 6 paper pads plus scraps together so that they get used. Any ideas welcomed.

Button Tree

I love this image by Sassy Cheryl, I have been eyeing it for a while and finally snagged it in the recent sale for a $1, such a bargain. Looks like the stamp isn't available on the new site...such a shame, sorry.

I decided to use the paper tolling technique again and am really pleased with how it came out. The colours are a bit non- traditional but I so wanted to use the new stampin up papers I got last week.

As the card was button themed I used my Boofle button embossing folder which I have only used once before and it gives such a lovely finish too, it was a bit difficult to see on the midnight muse cardstock so I used my new white ink pad to give a softer chalked effect. I also discovered that I have a button thin cut die that I must have bought about 7 years ago and never used, in fact I found 3 different ones lol.

Another Handbag card

I so enjoyed making the last handbag card I decided to make another one, I started making two similar cards everytime I make one and this was no exception. I am so loving paper piecing at the moment, so effective and a little bit of shading makes it perfect.

This is for my friend Janet and I hope she likes it. Will be back later with the other version.

I have been asked to provide the names of the fonts I use, so especially for you, you know who you are lol I have added them below.

Fairy Wishes

I made this card for my MIL and didn't want to blog it until I knew she had seen it. I have used a pergamano fairy coloured with copics and this is the first time I have inked this stamp, such a delicate image and quite fiddly to colour but enjoyable none the less.

My MIL loves all things purple so I used the "Time for Tea" range from Nit wits and as they are left over from a previous card I get to enter the snippet playground...yeah...

Oh my goodness, my little old Mother's day card has been featured on Janey's Digi Designs Blog. It was so strange to see my card on another blog and so lovely too.

Holly Hobbie Christmas

My MIL loves all things holly hobbie so when I saw that a Magazine in my local WHSmith had free holly hobbie stamps I had to get it. These stamps work perfectly and are a joy to colour, lots of little sections but still fun.

So I made this card last year but couldn't post it until my MIL had received it so it has been sitting pretty on my camera for ages.

A cup of tea

solves all of life's problems, as soon as I saw this fab image I knew it was crying out to be paper pieced.   I have paper pieced using the "time for tea" papers from Nit Wit and I even managed to find a verse with tea in it lol. I have started to make 2 of each card when I find myself with inspiration and hopefully this will mean I can be more creative when I want rather than constantly needing a card yesterday and having to rush it.

Happy Mother's Day

A very happy mother's day to all the mums out there in the UK. Today I have my mum's card to show you and will be back tomorrow with my MIL's.

My mum's favourite flowers are freesias, she loves the colours and the scent, so I have been scouring the tinternet to try and find a stamp or digi image for years. Then Janey's Digi Designs appears and I left Jane a comment asking if she was going to be providing a freesia image and she not only replied but she made one too. I bought it immediately and I have been waiting patiently to show it to you ever since.

I am entering the snippet playground as no full sheets were harmed in the making of this card, the backing papers were also from all the baby boy cards I have been making and the hexagon plate meant a little went a long way.

Totally Case'd

I loved this card on Katina's blog as soon as I saw it. I so wanted to buy the digi stamp too but remembered I have a whole set of Pink Petticoat handbags I have never used, so in the spirit of using what I have I made this card. in fact I made another one almost identical at the same time but I will show that on my blog after I know they have received it, you may have to wait a while though as their birthday is in September lol.

I have used more of the New Leaf papertrey ink cardstock and as this was left over from a previous card I get to enter the Snippet Playground too...hoot hoot...

Ice Ice Baby

Before I get to the card I just wanted to say hello to my new followers and thank you all for the wonderful comments on my Audrey Hepburn card, it really means so much as I was really struggling with my card making and this has renewed my mojo.

Ok so now I am showing my age but I loved that song lol. I saw this image on the Doodle Pantry blog and knew it would be perfect for my cousin who plays ice hockey, only problem was his birthday was in January, so I wondered do I buy it now or wait, in the end I decided to buy it now and make his card ready for next January, now before you all think wow she is organised I will let you into a little secret, I will probably not be able to find this next January and will end up making a different card and then finding it a few days later but never mind I enjoyed it anyway lol.

So it is very red and grey and reminds me of a 1980 boy bedroom, all it is missing is the diagonal stripes. (confession time, hubbie had a bedroom decorated like that with a red radiator no less lol) oh how times have changed.... I looked up the colour of a hockey puck and stick and they were both grey and originally I was going to colour the ant's in brown just like we have in the garden but that looked a bit weird so red they are, now they remind me of the fire ants that always bite my hubbie (also called Ant lol) when we visit Florida.
