Use it up No1

So although I don't make New Years Resolutions I did decide I would try and use some of the crafty stash I already have, this seemed a great idea on NYE and even on 1st January, in fact until I saw the sales and then all good intentions went right out of the window lol.

So in the spirit of using it up I have the first of two cards I made using the same sheet of stickers and some backing paper from the mountain that is my snippet drawer.

Giddy Up Cowboy

I may have mentioned a few times how my family love western movies, I bought this stamp set originally to use for my mum but I decided that I would use it for my uncle instead. I had seen a few cards on pinterest I like and I have based the card on those, I haven't copied any one but taken elements from different ones to create this.

I stamped the background with my new woodgrain kaisercraft stamp, these are an absolute bargain and I have bought quite a few different ones. I wanted to create my own paper as I couldn't find one that went with the look I wanted, I think I will be doing this a lot more.

I decided to change the sentiment but forgot to take a picture before I went in the post. As no full sheets were harmed in the making of this card I am off for a play at the snippet playground.

Two for the price of one.

I must admit I truly enjoy making guy cards, I am not sure why but they always seem easier to me. I thought of the recipient of this card when I bought this stamp set last year, now I know the iPhone is a bit different now but I still think it looks effective. All the supplies for this and the card I made from the negative are from the snippet draw.

I decided to try one of Kristina Werner's tips and stick different papers to a piece of paper and then die cut, being on a snippet challenge to myself though I used left over white card but it made cutting the die more difficult so next time I will use paper instead. On the second card I used the left over strips to create a background by cutting at angles and placing randomly

Another a la mode...

Another a la mode and another birthday card made.

I used an blueprint sketch for this card and I quite like how it turned out. I am entering the snippet playground again as this card is entirely from snippets. The scalloped border is the waste from a card at the beginning of October. I was trying to see how I could cut the scallop off when I dropped it onto the card and that was it, lightbulb moment lol.

A La Modes

Ok so previously was the turn of the uptown girls so this week it had to be something different so I have been using the "a la modes" from MFT. These images are so quick and easy to colour and perfect for fussy cutting.

I made these cards for December birthdays and I have decided that next year I am making them in August as I struggled to find my mojo when in full christmas card swing.

I used an old sketch saturday sketch for this card and I quite like how it turned out. I am entering the snippet playground with both my a la modes this week as they both used scraps that were already on my desk.

Cute Peeps

I have finally used one of the Stamping Bella peeps I bought at Joann.com on my last Florida trip. I knew exactly who I wanted to use this stamp for and as she has received the card now I can post it here.

I fell in love with this stamp range when it was first released but I could only find them in the US and as I didn't order online back then I just admired them from afar. I watched a Youtube video by EmchantedSteph and she had purchased the uptown girls from Joann so I searched and found these stamps, they arent available from Stamping Bella anymore so I was so pleased to be able to find them.

I had hoped that Christy Croll of Tiddlyink fame who designed them for Stamping Bella would stock them as digital stamps but she hasn't so far.

Papers: "Be Amazing" MME
Cardstock: Kraft by recollections
