Cheers Big Birthday Number 8

Last year I had a lot of big birthday cards to make and this was my go to design so when one of my friends asked us on a zoom call to make a card for her daughters big lockdown birthday I knew exactly what design, image and colours I was going to use. I do have a few other big birthdays this year nowhere near as many as last year.

I really love the eclipse numbers for a big birthday, let’s face it I love eclipse anything lol. It’s been my go to for a while and I can’t see that changing lol.

Not my Usual Stamps

Now normally I use real or digital stamps in my card making but in my family at the moment are a lot of LOL surprise obsessed little girls. I wasn't sure what to make them and a friend suggested looking at colouring pages and I found quite a few of these images. I have now made a few cards with them.

I realised one of my OCD traits is literal thinking, what I mean by that is if a bear can be black, brown or white I can colour it those colours but a blue bear makes me shaky, now when others colour things in random colours I love it but I just can't do it myself lol.

So of course the LOL dolls have to be in true colours, I will admit once I started colouring them I couldn't stop and I think thats the big eyes.

Does anyone else forget white is a neutral and looks fab paired with the right colours.

Unicorn Birthday Version 2

This is the second card I mentioned in the previous post and I am not sure which colour combo I prefer. When I made this one I had just received the kitsch flamingo in the post and was trying different combos and I like this one, feels a bit ethereal which I suppose is fitting for a unicorn lol.

Ingredients

Image and Sentiment: Creative Stamping

Dies: scalloped frame from Gina marie Designs

Distress Oxides: Kitsch flamingo and speckled egg

Copics

Mane - RV14, 13, 11

Unicorn - BG72, 70, blender

Unicorn Birthday

I really enjoy making lots of different cards but one age range I find difficult are the 10-14 year old girls. They are into make-up and stuff but that feels too old and anything cute is a no-no so after using this image and getting a positive reaction I decided to use it again and I actually made two cards with it. The other one will be on here shortly.

I was pleased with how this turned out and I hope the recipient likes it too.

Ingredients

Image: Creative Stamping

Sentiment:  Magical Unicorn from Crafters companion

Dies: scalloped frame from Gina Marie

Distress oxides: shaded lilac and peacock feathers

Copics

Aqua - BG49, 15, 23, 11

Grey - BV01, 00, 000

Thia

Oh my goodness I found this card and realised I didn't blog it and it was from 2019. I wasn't going to show it and then I remembered this blog is my visual record so how will I remember what I made if I don't show it, so here it is in all its late glory.

Nothing much else to say except it is my go to style and I really like the colour combo, something about it really pops to me.

Acetate Anya

The last of the acetate cards at least for now and probably my favourite if i am being honest. I was going to make another flower version and goodness knows I have enough coloured flowers left to do it when I spotted this image in the pile and thought I wonder if that works and thankfully it did.

Ingredients

Image: Anya from the Greeting Farm
Dies: circle stax from MFT and Harlequin coverplate from Papertrey Ink
Sentiment: a little bit sentimental from clearly besotted
