Another leaving card and sad farewell

I made this leaving card for one of my good friends at work, she left whilst I was off ill so didn't blog her card until after she received it. I will miss our lunchtime chats and her wicked sense of humour she always seemed to lighten the mood.

Anyway onto the card, used a pink petticoat image and as pink is her favourite colour there didn't seem to be a reason not to use it.

Christy Croll - 40 card

Hi everyone, Christy Croll from Tiddlyinks asked if anyone would be willing to make a card for her friends 40th Birthday. Having recently celebrated mine I thought why not, Christy sent me a few images and papers and told me that her favourite colours were red, black and white. I coloured the image with copics and used the out of the box style but as I don't have nesties I cheated and just printed another image and cut the exclamation mark out lol.

New Digital Stamp Company and a freebie

Evening All

I have just seen a post in blogland that a new digital stamp company has been started and has the most adorable images available, the store Wee Stamps is offering a really cute freebie until tomorrow at 12pm UK time and all you need to do to grab this freebie is post a message on your blog with a link back to the site and let her know. The artist is Sylvia Zet and you will love the cutie images she has in her shop.

Rollercoaster Ride

Just typing rolleroaster makes me think of the Ronan Keating song and makes me feel queasy at the same time, not sure if the thought of a rollercoaster or Ronan Keating that makes me feel this way lol. Anyway on with the card, used a new digi stamp from Bugaboo, I bought a few in the 60% off sale so expect to see a few more. I didn't make this card for anyone just cos I wanted to colour him in. I have gained some inspiration from Kerry's style of card again and even managed to stamp direct onto the card even though it doesn't look straight on the picture. I bought a set of papermania man's world stamps in the hobbycraft sale just for this sentiment - how crazy is that, but they did only cost 49p so were still a bargain.

One Cool Cat

I love this image from bugaboo, it was a joy to colour and looked so effective, this isn't a good picture as the brads made it almost impossible for the scanner to get a good picture lol. I like the colouring but am not overly happy with the actual card, I had an image in my head and it just didn't match when it was finished.

I seem to have a bit of a brad mountain and promised myself I would use a few on each card, well not managed that yet but did manage to use two cord ones on this card.

New Role Congratulations Card

One of my friends at work has recently changed roles and I am really pleased for her, she deserved the recognition and I wanted her to know that. I made this card for her and I hope she likes it. I used an old favourite image and decided to go for more unusual colours for this card.

Pink & Brown - mmmm

This card reminds me of neopolitan ice cream lol, I used to love this as a kid and always ate the chocolate flavour last. I made this card entirely from scraps, even the image was left over from others I had been making. It felt good to use up some of my scraps and I may even start taking on the Sunday challenge started by Jules.

Coco - Love this Bear

One of the images I selected from digistamp boutique was this cute bear, I bought coco with roses when he first appeared and have used him loads but thought I wouldn't use one with a heart as I don't tend to make any cards for valentines. I have since seen him used loads on Kerry's blog for all sorts of occasions and decided he had to come home to live with me. I have a soft spot for bears and this one definitely melts my heart.

I decided to follow the sketch on sketch saturday and create a valentines card, not sure who this is for as it is a bit girly to give to hubby, I may just leave it lying around and see if he sends it to me, won't hold my breath for that though lol.

Not Quite How I Imagined

Do you know how sometimes you can see a card before you start to make it and then when it is finished it is like huh, what happened lol. In my head this card looked amazing and although I don't think it stinks I am not happy with it. I love the image - second of my win from digistamp boutique, and the colouring and even love the papers just not all together lol. Hubbie said it is a little busy, a little busy looks like it might be on steroids.

First of the Images I won

Morning All,
I recently won the monthly competition at Digistamp Boutique and got to choose 5 images as my prize, this is the first image I choose. I was so excited and it took me ages to pick my images as there are so many to choose from.

I have printed and coloured the other four as well and expect to see cards over the next few days lol. I followed the sweet sketch wednesday sketch and enjoyed working with it, not one I will use often but still enjoyed it. I have tried to colour red hair this time and am quite pleased with my first attempt.

A Purple Birthday

January is a busy birthday month in our family and finishes off with my MIL's birthday at the end of Jan. She loves purple so this seemed the ideal starting place but I never seem to have any nice purple papers, so nit wit to the rescue once again with a kit called just ducky, lots of purple to last quite a few years. I have used an image of a little girl that my BIL drew, he has just drawn a load of baby images and I know this one was his mum's favourite so I had to use it on her card. Used my cricut to create the mat, really like this one so expect to see it used all the time lol. I don't have any nesties so use my cricut for all my matting & layering, can be a bit trial and error but the lacy labels cart has so many to choose from.

On a Roll

I have tried to make more than one card with a similar theme recently and although I haven't always posted them I have enjoyed making them. This one I have tried something unusual for me and that is to use white as the accent colour, I saw this on Milliemoo's gallery on docraft's and thought it looked elegant so have tried it myself and must say I am pleased with the results and will be using again.

I made a third card with these papers but won't be posting it yet as I made it for a birthday and they won't receive it for quite a while. It felt good to be able to be making cards in advance rather than last minute. Now just need to get the rest of this month sorted lol.

An unusual colour scheme

Hello, I have made three alost identical cards with a very unusual colour scheme - purple and green and I must say I like them. I used Nit Wit collection papers "Just Ducky' which I bought to have more purple papers in my stash. My Mil loves purple and my Mum loves blue so I am always on the lookout for some pretty papers in these colours. My mum asked me to make a card for my aunt with shoes on and in greens and this card practically made itself. There is a bit of bling and glossy accents but you can't see them on here. Used the first blog candy I ever won from Michelle at the card grotto, a huge bag of bling which I am sure will keep me going for years.

Also tried a new technique with my MS punch, I punched it first them measured from the edge of the card to the end of the punched design and then doubled it and cut the strip to that width, I allowed and extra 2 mm and this gives the strip in the middle. I tried the exact measurements and this is amazing but I did prefer the strip in the middle. I have been resting this week so have watched more tv than I care to remember and saw how to do this on C&C with Leonie.

I was so happy, thrilled and excited. As you will probably know if you visit my blog I love digistamp boutique images, such a joy to colour and always so well received. I am off to pick my prize and hopefully make a card.

Birthday Boy 3

I printed all the different ages when I made the I am 5 cards a few weeks ago and have finally gotten round to scanning this one. They are really easy to make and I am pleased with how it turned out. I really need to start entering challenges again but am so slow at making cards that any sketches are out of date before I post them lol. I always seem to be using squares when circles are the focal point and vice versa.

Normally when I make a card I have a recipient in mind as I don't sell my cards but this is a just in case card. You never know when one will be needed.
