Waste not want not

Ok so this card is a definite change from my usual, I know when I have used a non cute image I have said the same but this is about as far from my comfort zone as I get lol. I bought the new papermania bottle cap 6 x 6 stamp and decided to try the emboss resist technique, so I embossed in white first, then realised that I am useless with inks so thought how can I achieve a similar look and looked up and my new shiny used once airbrush was staring at me, so I sprayed the card stock with my copics, it doesn't wipe off the embossing but I think that adds to the charm and makes it more distressed. I showed my handiwork to hubbie and expected the usual, oh thats nice when he said wow I love that look, well you could have knocked me down with a feather. He then came into my craftroom...unheard of ....and said what are you doing with that bit of card, I said its waste from where I cut some fishtail dies and he said that would look great over the top, so that is exactly where it ended up.

I have never made a card with my hubbie before, he has helped occasionally when equipment needs his IT skills or to save it being thrown through a window but he has never spent time in here with me making a card. He chose all the other elements and after embossing the blue card he told me to buy myself some more powder and that bag thingy as I seemed to be enjoying embossing so much. The bottle top is part of the stamp coloured with the same copics as I airbrushed with with glossy accents in the middle, much cheaper than the ones in the shop.

Wow, this is brilliant Amanda. Love the colours and design - hubby can come and play if he likes, the pogo sticks could do with oiling and the duckpond could do with a dredge :) How clever to have a hubby helping with your crafting, lucky you.

Gorgeous card there Honey and all the more inspiring as Hubby had his hand in! Maybe you could encourage him to make more on his own, but keep your "best" stuff away from him or you may not see it again!

How great that you have got hubby interested in crafting (at least for the moment!) and fabulous that he suggested buying more craft goodies!! It's a great design, I like the fishtails.
You asked about Riding Hood Red vs Real Red. I think Real Red is a brighter 'true' red. RHR seems to have a slight hint of pink in it and looks more muted when you pop one against the other. Hope this helps :)

You might be working out of you comfort zone but this is good. Like the effect you have achieved. Do you think if hubby is in a DIY mood that he could cut the hedge down a wee bit as I,m having difficulty seeing the playground from here. Hugs Mrs a.
