Remember when ....

So I don't make new years resolutions as I am notoriously bad at sticking to them, once only got as far as lunchtime on the 1st before breaking one lol so this is not a resolution but a change of tack. My craft room has been groaning under the weight of unused crafty items for a while but it was particularly noticeable in the Christmas card making marathon when things kept trying to escape and I decided that I needed to stop buying and start using. I have lots of decoupage, peel offs etc but never use them so I am starting to use them up, any that I know I won't use will be donated to my good friend Kay for her nursery kiddos to use.

So with that in mind I made this card using remember when decoupage which I have probably had since 2009, there were three in the pack and I made them all up, using exactly the same style and actually I quite like them. I know the recipients will enjoy them and hubbie says I get stuck on the latest craze not realising that the recipients have no idea that this is so last season darling.

Lovely male card. I too know the feeling of an overburdened craft room as mine is groaning at the seams must make more of an effort to use stuff I have instead of buying more, says she who is off to her local crafty shop shortly for a mooch around. Love Alison xxx

I am afraid I treat crafting the same as I treat clothes....I only use/buy because I like them and am comfy. I never found decoupage comfy so only ever did one, and that was because the image was perfect for someone. However, someone bought me some for Christmas in a pack so I will have to use them, but they are Boofle so that won't be too hard!
Love your card though. Very appropriate for men!
I have recently been moving things around in my room in the hope that now stuff is in a different place I may notice them better! We shall see!
Hugs and keep warm!

Great card - lots of work in all that decoupaging!

Thanks for your comments on my card - I just googled "original monopoly money" using the images tab on google and found an image of some being sold on ebay and I copy and pasted it into word so I could size it to be right for my card and then printed and cut it up. Hope that helps. If you don't have a cameo but would like the house border - I'd be happy to cut one for you and post to you - just email me via my blog with your details.

Brilliant Amanda!!

You know, I think we're all just the same about latest crazes BUT, yesterday evening my beloved OH actually said - you've moved on so why not give stuff away or dispose of it if you want new things. WHAT was he on at the time I wonder?!?!?!

Hugs, Di xx

Way to go on the USING IT UP front Amanda. You've made a super male card and made some space in your craft room too. Double whammy.

Ha ha! I'm with hubby. I'm IN the card crafting world and I still don't care whether it's so last season, darling!! I'm also totally with you on it being more important that we use (at least once!) what we have before buying more. I've noticed we are not alone in resolving to do so this year.

I think your card is fantastic, Amanda! It's fine with me that you still use that sketch drawn of me back in 1970! I remember waiting on old Mr. Henderson and thinking he was soooo OLLLDDD. Turns out he was only 47. His dog . . .

(Sorry. That image just begs to have a story written to go along with it!!)
