Geeky Mae

So I might be a little obsessed with this style of card, this is only the second one you have seen on here but its not the only one I have made, expect to see those later in the year. I decided back in January that if I got an idea for a card for someone I was just going to make it when the idea struck and not wait so I have been going with that and have made cards I don't need for quite some time and can't publish until after the recipients birthday either, so it might be some time before you see the others.

I have had this image for a few years and only used her once before, she was so easy to colour and I am really pleased with the card so I might have to use her or her friends more often like this.

Making Cards - Birthday Bears

I started a subscription for this magazine in January and so far I am so impressed, the free gift for March was a set of bear stamps and papers and toppers for boy cards. I used one of the bears and papers from the booklet to make this card.

I rarely use the free papers with magazines but these are fab quality and the colours and patterns on the ones I chose were calling out to be used straight away. Now this card was made the day the magazine arrived and I am hoping it is still available for those who like the bear.

Gorjuss Hush Little Bunny

When I first saw these large gorjuss stamps I wasn't sure what I would do with them as I don't make large cards but I adored this image and I thought it would be lovely to colour that hair. So I went with a design I've used with Digi stamps before and I like it. I might even have to buy a few more, of course if my favourite one was available then I would have already bought it lol.

As the image was so large I kept the rest of the design simple. I have used some enamel dots on this too, I seem to hoard those even more than gems or pearls but if I want more I have to use some.

Liquorice Allsorts

I have been a fan of the Creative Stamping Magazine for a while now, its great value for money and the stamps are good quality too. So when I saw that the set for February was sweet themed and included liquorice all sorts I knew I had to have it.

I have followed one of the card designs in the magazine just adding a pink mat and making it a2 sized but other than that its a reproduction. I am hoping to make more with the stamps soon but as is normal around here its on to the next new set lol.

Prima Planner Doll

I went to a craft fair at Newbury in January and I saw this set of tiny Prima Dolls and I knew I wanted it but I wasn't sure I would use it, so I asked my friend to dissuade me from purchasing it but instead she tried to get me to buy all four lol. I love my enabling crafty friends lol.

I paper pieced her dress and copic coloured the rest of her, she was rather a dream to paper piece and there is another doll in the stamp set that I might try to get onto a card soon.

So should I have bought all four.....absolutely.....will i be buying the rest.....absolutely lol.

Pure Innocence Happy Banner

The new 30 day colouring challenge has started but I used an older challenge image to make this card, my extra challenge to myself this time is to make them into cards once a week so that I'm not still making cards with them six months later lol.

I had to try to match the paper to the image as it was already coloured, not something I do anymore and I remembered why...its so hard lol. I eventually found these papers from MFT and they marched almost perfectly so I went with it.

Since I bought the scalloped edges I can't seem to stop using them, I think I need the other set now as well lol.

Birthday Nell

I think I need to apologise for the lack of inspiring posts recently, my mojo went on vacation and I have been struggling ever since. It still hasn't retuned but cards are needed so I go back to tried and tested designs and this is one of those.

I bought this image from Digistamp Boutique in the recent New Year sale and I had a blast colouring it, I went with a favourite colour combo for me and once it was coloured I struggled to find paper to match so I used the Harlequin stencil from MFT and away I went. The distress ink almost exactly match the colours I used on the stamp, that almost never happens lol.

Ingredients
Image:"Birthday Nell" Digistamp Boutique
Stencil: "harlequin" MFT with "twisted citroen" and "tumbled glass" distress inks
Dies: Labels (retired) from MFT and Blueprints 1 and 2

Gorjuss Toadstools

This card was for a very special crafty friend who also happens to be a huge Gorjuss fan. I had recently shown her the Tatty Teddy card I had made with the cloud border and she really liked it and so an idea for her card started. I went with a cute unused gorjuss stamp and a new sentiment that I think is fabulous and sums up my friends rather well. Once I had coloured the image, always the longest part, the card came together quickly. She was very pleased with it which was exactly what I had hoped for.
