Pirate Party

Yet another inspired by Nichol Sphor card, I find her style to be one that I gravitate to and hope to someday achieve. Her scene building leaves me in awe and isn't something I am ready to try at the moment. She makes it look so easy but you just know it isn't.

Anyway onto the card, I used the distress oxide inks for the background and i do like the look these give, I did forget to sprinkle with water though but hopefully next time I will remember. The rest is pretty straightforward really, just my normal coloured images and job done.

Pizza Passion

I have been wanting this stamp set since it was released but I kept telling myself I didn't need it. In the end the need to make this card was too strong and I gave in and ordered it. I am so glad I did as well as it is even better than I hoped or expected.

I am very impressed with the quality of these sets especially for the cost, so if you are hesitating I say go ahead and buy you won't be disappointed.

I did add a sentiment after I took the photo and I totally forgot to take another one before I sent it out.

This card was inspired by my friend Kathleen she made a very similar card and I thought it is perfect for this image. Its a fairly simple design so there is no room for error and I am pleased it all went without a hitch or a smudge in sight. I am so happy with it that I might make a few more.

Zero Calories

Sometimes you see an image and all that springs to mind is rainbow, well this was that image. I enjoyed colouring them all and I love this design of card, it is very much inspired by Nichol Spoor who makes this design look effortless but believe me it isn't. When its this simple every mistake shows up, I can tell that the border isn't quite straight, when I measured it is is less than 2mm but I can still see it lol.

Another Get Well Wish

I needed a get well card quickly and as I just got this image I decided to use her again. I have been inspired by the MFT design team for the layout and as my mojo is still missing I can see being inspired is going to become a feature lol.

I am not going to let my lack of mojo stop me creating or playing though. I don't struggle with colour or papers even just the layout so if being inspired helps me make cards and I am happy with the result then long may it continue to inspire me.

Fairy Wishes

I was trying to resist the distress oxide inks as I don't have the full set of normal distress inks I thought it would be easy but it sure wasn't. On a recent trip to Florida I discovered Michaels were stocking the oxides and you could use coupons so I bought all the colours they had, not sure why they didn't stock all twelve but still I am not complaining lol.

All I did on this card was blend then sprinkle with water, it looked so much like a fairy trail that I went with it and I am pleased with how it turned out.

Great Dane

Friends of ours have a great dane who is still a puppy although he is the size of a shetland pony. He is one of the most affectionate dogs I have ever encountered and he loves to lean on you, he also thinks he is a lap dog which is too funny lol.

I knew I had to get this image and make a card for my friend as he loves his dog and I can imagine him stealing a party hat and wearing it too.

Lili of the Valley New Home

I have made this type of card before with eiffel towers and a penguin, that card was inspired by a new home card made by the MFT design team. I have had that card in the back of my mind ever since so when I needed a new home card I drew inspiration from it. The keys from Clearly besotted are much smaller but work just the same. It was a lot of fun to create the background for this card and I can see it being used again in the future. Some techniques are one time only but this one is definitely not one of those.

Fireman Shaker Card

A different shaker card from me this time, I thought wouldn't it be fun to have the sequins represent water. I used images from different companies and then discovered I own no blue sequins.....what....no way.....so I had to buy some. Other colours might have fallen into the basket also lol.

I enjoyed this card so I might try this style again, not for a bit though as I am recovering from sequin spillage lol.
