Happy Birthday Kay

Today is my crafty friend Kay's birthday and I wanted to wish her a very happy birthday.

I love these images by Mo, they have so much character. I found the sentiment whilst searching for something else and thought it was perfect. I just hope she likes it as well

Cheers to You!!!

I know I said I was going to make Christmas cards but forgot I needed to make a few birthday cards first. January is a very busy birthday month for me and I had four other cards to make so why did my mojo want to make a February male card lol. In the end I made five cards and enjoyed them all, they are all very similar but different if that makes sense.

Had a few problems with the glossy accents and stuck my great big finger in it whilst it was still wet argghh. Never mind I am sure he won't notice. I used the woodware foaming white stuff again, love watching this puff up so entertaining lol.

I have found lately that I never seem to have the right shade of cardstock so decided that I would use some white card I was given and colour with my copics and must say I am very pleased with how this turned out and used it on all of the cards I made today.

Hope Everyone had a Very Merry Christmas

Well the big day is over for another year and I hope the man in the red suit visited you all and left lots of lovely goodies. Every year I say I must get more organised and every year I am a headless chicken running around. So I have decided to make all next years christmas cards before the new year....do you think I will succeed lol.

I made these two cards for my Mum and MIL but couldn't post them until they received them as they both check my blog.

Another Christmas Birthday

The last of the pre-christmas birthday cards and probably my favourite. I think I have mentioned my mammoth cricut cart haul recently and this mat was cut using one of them. It was so simple to do and turned out s effective. Expect to see loads more of these.

December Birthdays - lots of them

I seem to have loads of birthdays in December and every year I start them months before and then can't find them nearer the date. This weekend alone I had to make five plus christmas cards and it felt like work lol. I did like the finished articles though.

A Few Christmas Cards

As usual I am running around like a headless chicken, still got loads of cards to make and no time to do it. I made a load of christmas cards on Saturday for my crafty friends and I forgot to take photos, typical so I only have the few I have here which were for my family. Saw a card on Jak Heath's blog and thought oh wow I like that so this is my cased version.

A Very Happy Birthday MUM

It was my Mum's birthday on Saturday, yes I know I am late posting her card but wanted her to see it in the flesh before she saw it on my blog lol. Before she got her notebook last year I never had to worry about it.

My mum loves blue and every year I try and find a different blue paper, this year I used Nit Wit "From the Heart" but muct admit there isn't as much blue as I thought there would be. I even bought bashful blue from stampin up especially but it really didn't go and red was already on my desk so I seemed the logical choice.

I have paper pieced her clothes with mini dig versions of the paper and will definitely be doing this again.

The observant of you will notice there are flowers on this card, I know absolutely unheard of from me but it is my mum after all lol.

Where are the days going....

I seem to be running fast just to keep still at the moment. There has been lots going on that has sapped my mojo and enthusiasm in general. Had a dreadful cough/cold thing for over a month and it doesn't seem to be going....oh my goodness you didn't come here to listen to me moan that is what my hubbie is for lol.

Onto the card, it is another birthday one, there seem to be lots of December birthdays at the moment and I need to get these finished before I can even start my Christmas cards. You will be seeing a lot of this mat, I bought a new cricut cart and I love this one.

Happy Birthday Tanya

It's another playday birthday today, I posted Tanya's card earlier in the week so I hope she has got it. I decided to use a digistamp boutique image and an ashamed to say it is the first time I have used it.

I must apologise for the awful quality of my photo's at the moment it always seems to be dark and they all seem a little blue. Not quite got the hang of photo editing and no time at the moment to practise so blue tinged they are.

December is here...let the panic begin

Oh my goodness, 2nd of December already and I am so behind. Normally I have all of my presents bought, wrapped and ready to give but not this year. I have barely even started making my cards let alone writing them. I have though made two cards and little presents for my friends I saw last night.

On my recent Florida trip I went into Bath and Bodyworks and bought some of their new scented hand wash and then made them into little gifts for the girls. They both seemed to like them and couldn't believe I hadn't bought them already packaged. Didn't like to tell them about the trail of wrong sized boxes that is currently in my craftroom.

Happy Birthday Sue

Today is Sue's birthday, Sue is the organiser of the monthly Bristol craft meet and has been an inspiration to me. She has taken me out of my comfort zone and I feel I have grown as a crafter. I no longer fear making a box and stamping is a new found joy. The craft days are something I look forward to all the time.

Anyway onto the card...Sue loves teal or purple and as I had just bought the stampin up in colour I decided to go with teal. As soon as I saw this image I thought of Sue, I knew she would love the look of the image but also she is called Copica and Sue loves to colour. The kraft card is from Craftwork Cards and matches the teal perfectly. I also used one of my new cricut carts to cut the mat...oh my goodness the amount of different mats on this is incredible wish I had bought it ages ago.

Baby's First Christmas

You may remember from all the baby cards I have been making this last year that a lot of my friends had babies this year. So I have a lot of Baby's First Christmas cards to make lol. I wanted to buy a new image for these cards and then I remembered an old Pink Petticoat one I have never used. I forgot I had it and I must say it is perfect.

Hello its been a while

Morning All

Just wanted to let you all know I am alive and well. I have been a bit sporadic in the posting and commenting part of blogging as I have been in Florida. I tend to use an ipad when I am away and find commenting a bit more time consuming than sat at my puter, I have still been visiting you all and looking at your wonderful creations though.

So I suppose you would like to see my bargains lol.

I seem to have bought a lot looking at the photo. All the halloween crafting goodies were in the clearance section at Walmart and cost wait for it.....24 cents each. I spotted a set of shaped cards whilst waiting for hubbie and his brother and that was it I was hooked. In the end hubbie took me to three walmarts just in case I missed any bits.

On my last day I spotted these cricut carts, they were marked at $20 so I picked three and went to the checkout were the very helpful operator asked if they were from the clearance section so I said yes and she informed me that they were 50% off the marked price that day only......so I bought the three and went back to tell hubbie and he insisted I buy all the ones I didn't already have lol. I know he is wonderful and no I don't lend him out.

hope to be back visiting and commenting later.

Happy Birthday Tracy

Today is one of my playday friends birthday's and I wanted to wish her a very happy birthday. Now Tracy loves lots of embellies but as this had to get there by post there aren't any...hope she still likes it.

I made her card using one of Sylvia Zet's images, I fell in love with this cutie as soon as I saw her and could n't wait to get her so why then did I wait so long to colour her in and make a card lol.

Get Well Soon Mark

My boss has just had a hip replacement and I wanted to send him a get well soon card, I saw this image on Dustin Pike's blog and thought he looks familiar, and yes you guessed it I already had the image, I always used to laugh when people said they bought the same stamp, image or paper twice now I can see how easy it is to do lol.

I hope he likes the card and that he feels better soon, I know how much pain he has been in lately and I have a feeling that after this operation there will be no stopping him.

Leaving on a Jet Plane....

Two good friends at work are leaving to pursue new career paths and I wanted to wish them good luck and fond fairwell.

I decided to use my go to new job/role leaving image and use it for both of them. Julia loves gold so hers just had to have gold as the main colour, Donna loves all things black so I decided to use very different colours for hers.

I wish them both well in their new adventures and hope they will keep in touch.

Good Food and Good Friends

I seem to be MIA a lot at the moment and I must say I do miss blogging. No reason for my absence except work is keeping me busy and I just seem to want to curl up on the sofa when I get in.

Last night I went for dinner with some good friends from work and had a sit down Chinese and loved it, I can't believe I have never had one before, so much nicer than a takeaway to.

Excuse the extremely fuzzy photo I tok it just before rushing out the door and there isn't the opportunity to take another.

Green Again

Ok so before I begin on the card I think I need to explain the amount of green cards recently, I don't mean recycled either lol.

I don't know about anyone else but I seem to go through stages with papers and this kit is no exception. It had sat on my computer for months without so much as a passing glance when I needed to make a golfing card and the argyle paper was so perfect and since then I have used it multiple times. It doesn't help I suppose that the people I am making for at the moment all love green but I am hoping for some pinks, purples, greys well just about any combo to make an appearance soon.

Anywhoo onto the card, used the very versatile paper kit from Summer Driggs called Fresh Start and this time I used the snippets rather than print new sheets, in fact the black and green card came from the snippet box so apart from the image oh wait a minute I used a part sheet of white to stamp onto, see I am now so used to using snippets I forget that I am doing it lol.

Another Baby Boy ...

There seems to be a bit of a trend at the moment for baby boy cards at work, although the next two babies due are supposed to be girls, can't wait to get started on pink cards lol. I used this cutie image from Mo's Digital Pencil as they are so fab for baby cards.

I did make a bit of a mistake though I dropped the copic after I had coloured him in and made a bit of a mess of the circle he was sitting on, so I cut him out and placed him on an embossed circle instead and I must say I prefer it now, a happy accident.

This is my first Christmas card for 2011, all my best intentions went out of the window in January so I will be skidding in by the skin of my teeth again this year lol.

Less is More 1000 Entries Challenge

I am so sorry for the picture quality tonight but I really wanted to enter the Less is More 1000 entries challenge. I have made 4 cards all almost identical and I will post them all one after another so I can enter them all lol.

I am always inspired by the creations I see out in blogland and have loved seeing all the LIM creations for a while but never dared to join in until now. I think it was Lisa's mammoth entries this week that made me pull on my big girl panties and just get on with it....

So onto the first entry....I saw these images on a card on Dustin's blog and couldn't find them anywhere so I asked him if they were for sale...and it turns out that the lady concerned had combined two of his images to create them so Dustin being the kind and generous person he is made three versions and offered them as freebies. thank you Dustin they are awesome.

It's just not cricket....

Before I say anything about this card I need to apologise for the pants photos, I finished this card late at night and needed to get it posted first thing in the morning so the light was awful.

You may recognise the papers and layout from the golf card I made a few weeks ago, I used the offcuts and as I liked the other card I decided to almost copy it lol. My friends hubbie loves cricket and as he is Jamaican the flag colours needed to be featured. I have no idea if the colours of the uniform are correct and no time to check I went with what I thought would look good.

I like to ride my bicycle...I like to ride my bike...

bicycle, bicycle....are you all singing along or am I the only one old enough to know the words lol.

I made a card just for fun woohoo, the crafting seems to have been one event after another recently and no time for a just in case card. I think I need to start planning ahead a bit more and then I wouldn't find myself with ten cards all needed for that week lol.

I love the cards Vicky makes and she is always tempting me with papers, images and bits so I thought I would make a card inspired by her. I have used a Pollycraft image and nitwit papers, I must confess to already having the papers but never using them together. The photo looks a little washed out, need to find a better place to take the photos.

Happy Anniversary

I am sharing this card a tad late, my friends had their first anniversary last Sunday and I made this card for them but unfortunately it has sat in my bag until today.

Well the event was a huge success, a few hiccups on the day but I was remarkably calm, I seem to get nervous the few days before when everyone is swapping and changing but once all the competitors turned up I relaxed. Have a whole year until we do it again lol.

Anyway onto the card, I used a digi stamp from Wee Stamps, link in my side bar and I really enjoyed colouring this one. I used a paper and design I have used before as it works so well.

MIA for a few days

Morning, just wanted to say hello to my new followers and say thank you for following me.

I am going to be MIA for a few days, nothing exciting but a large event at work which means late nights and no crafting time boohoo.

I had a fab time on Sunday with all the Bristol playday girls and if/when I finish the advent calendar I will pop in on here for you all to look/laugh at lol.

See you all soon.

Three Little Dogs

Morning All, I couldn't sleep last night so decided to get up and do something useful lol. It has been a really busy week and I am still getting over the lurgy so the craft room has been a colouring zone only for the last week. I have used three separate images from Just Inklined for this card as my friend has two jack russells and a bulldog. They came as jpgs though and as hubbie was snoring loudly I couldn't work out how to merge so printed them all separately and cut and stuck them on.

I have just realised I took this picture before I added the nailheads...what am I like.

This is a part snippet card as well, I used snippets for the cardstock and even the white they are mounted on but I did print the main paper so won't be entering it in the weekly snippet makes. Note to self, must try harder to use the mountain before it takes over the room.

Now although I like green I wouldn't say lime green is my favourite but I might change my mind after making this card. I love the fresh greens in her dress and had a blast colouring her in. Lil Pops

Anyone who visits my blog will know my fondness for digistamp boutique images and this new set is no exception, the lil pops set 1 has six images and each one is super cute. I have used one of these for this birthday card and I had loads of fun colouring her in.

She has been stickled, glossy accented and copic spica'd to within an inch of her life lol. Love these papers, bought them from Raspberry Road in their sale and ashamed to say this is the first time I have used them, they are from the journal collection (just checked the site and they are a bargain at only $1).

A special new home card for my cousin who is buying her first home with her boyfriend, just wanted to say congratulations and hope they will be very happy there, they certainly deserve it.

Quite a plain and simple card as she doesn't like a lot of fuss and definitely no pink. They are going for brown and cream colour scheme in their lounge so this seemed the perfect combination to use.

I don't have a digi stamp for a new home card except the Mo Manning one which seemed a bit too cute for this young couple so needed something different when I remembered a font from Lettering Delights called "Home Sweet Home" seemed quite appropriate really.

Its that time of the Year

Well it is that time of the year in the UK, exam results time and I have made two cards for two very special people who have done really well in their exams. The first one is Luke, you may remember his birthday card earlier in the year with the hockey player on. This image is a little babyish for such a wonderful young man but I didn't want to use an image of a graduation as I know for sure I will need one of those in his future.

I used the josy rose nailheads again and am so loving these, have started to know when they are set as well without burning my fingers lol.

Fly me to the moon.....

I seem to be posting all my cards with song titles lol, I thought of this one as soon as I saw this image. Mo has an uncanny ability to capture emotion in her creations. The plain and simple layout seems to be working for me at the moment and I say so long as I am creating then does it matter if they all have a similar look does it?

Its my first twisted easel card and it wasn't as easy as it should have been lol, I stuck the image to the card front on his side so had to unstick it and it nearly tore and ruined the whole thing, when you look at it now you would never know lol. I haven't put the sentiment on the star yet but I think you can guess what it will say.

Coloured with copics and of course some glossy accents, there is even an embossing folder on this one, really pushing the boat out.

Used snippets of cardstock and the red card never even made if as far as the snippet draw as I made this as soon as I finished the hero card from earlier in the week. As for recycling/reusing I cut the star for the hero card and then didn't need it and rather than just put it in the embellishment draw I used it on this card....check me out.

It don't mean a thing if you ain't got that swing

Does the title make you feel like singing lol. It's the first thing I thought of when I saw this image. Hopefully it will bring a smile to the face of the recipient.

Coloured with copics and of course the glossy accents (doesn't feel finished until I add the glossy accents lol)

No snippets on this one - shock horror all new items , it did feel strange not having any ready to go snippets in the right colour, I will though for the next card in this colour combo lol.

Here he comes to save the day

Well another weekend over and back to work, especially not looking forward to this week as was supposed to be on holiday...boohoo, but as the flights are soooo expensive I will be saving my precious days for another time.

Anyway enough waffle - back to the card Amanda, been playing with kenny k's again, I know, I know when I get some new stamps that is all you ever see lol. This one was so much fun to colour and I made it for hubbies birthday in September, how organised am I. Don't worry he doesn't read my blog so will never see it until the day, but just in case I left off the sentiment that would give the game away. In the last nitwits sale I bought the Super Stuey kit and wondered when I would use it but as soon as I saw this image I knew, sometimes things are just meant to go together.

I bought some stampin up real red for my christmas cards as I like the idea of being able to keep getting the same true colour match and I must say I am impressed, it cut like a dream and the colour is real bright red, just perfect for all the male cards I make, will be buying more and have a plan to get all the colours lol. I never seem to be able to get just one or even the ones I think I will like I seem to need/want them all.

Woman of your Dreams?

I had the idea for this card a while ago and only just got round to making it. I love the three sided cards I have seen at Jules and Kerry's blogs and thought it would make an excellent idea for my BIL birthday. I used 2 6x6 card blanks and stuck them together to form a three sided card. I have folded it differently as I wanted the inner image to be hidden. I used images from Kenny K and Bugaboo and the sentiments are computer generated using Bookworm font. My BIL's favourite colour is yellow so had to use that on the card, summer driggs to the rescue as all the yellow's I thought of were to babyish for a 28 year old.

The finished card with all three sides showing. The other side is a collage of the ticket we bought him for his present, thank goodness for tickets via email you can print multiple times.

The woman of his dreams complete with yellow bikini and glossy accented sunglasses. Decided on red hair as it seemed to go best with the yellow.

And finally the joke bit...lol... I just hope he likes it too.

Another Kenny K

I feel as though I have an addiction, My name is Amanda and I have bought seven, yes seven Kenny K's this month. It all started with my bil birthday card and wanting a racy image and the rest they say is history.

I used the out of the box technique on this one and must say I think she works really well like this. Coloured with my trusty copics and a bit of spica on her eyelids. Used the snippets from a snippet card last week, feels strange to be using snippets from snippets lol. The paper was in my snippet draw but hasn't been previously used, is anyone else guilty of this....when I get a new digi paper kit I print all my favourites just to see the colours properly make a card with the one that I like the most and shove the rest in my snippet draw. So technically this is a proper snippet make lol.

Please excuse the fuzzy picture, I took a quick picture before I sent the card and unfortunately its not a good one.

Another Good Luck Wish

I seem to be making quite a few new job cards recently and now I have to say goodbye and good luck to another.
