Panda Girl

February and March used to be quite Birthday months but not anymore lol, I seem to be making more and more cards than ever lately. So this card is for the lovely lady who introduced me to card making and to whom I owe a huge thanks.

I didn't bring my prisma pencils back with me from Florida but I so wanted to colour with them again so my very good friend Jane brought them to play day for me, I had a blast colouring this on kraft again I think it might be my new obsession lol.

New Baby News

There is nothing better than good news and this week I've certainly needed it. A very good friend is about to be a Nan for the first time so I thought I would make a card for the mum to be. I think this has to be one of my favourite cards to make. Nothing fancy on this one just a quick and easy make.

Yet more Magazine free stamps

A few days ago I posted the fuchsia card made with the clearly besotted free set well today Im posting the other card I made at the same time.

I decided to use the rose stamp and mason jar for this card, I already own the rose stamp so have used it previously but the mason jar is new to me. I'm not sure which set the jar is from but it is super cute.

As I said on my previous card black memento looked too dark when I was colouring so I stamped this one in London Fog, it was a bit like no line colouring but easier because the lines were slightly darker. I did enjoy colouring this image and it was considerably faster than last time.

More magazine free stamps

I don't know what it is lately but the UK magazines seem to be on a roll with the fab free stamp sets, I suppose technically they aren't free but still they are great value, this month with "simply cards and papercraft" was a set of clearly besotted stamps, now I love me some clearly besotted and so I had to get this one. I already had the original set which included the Rose but the fushia and butterflies were new to me, as soon as I got this I made this card and then before the glue was even dry I made another one, I will save that for another day though.

So onto the card, I went for a cas look, clearly besotted stamps really suit this style and it's one I find myself wanting to create more and more often. I covered the leaf branch with pear tart memento then just at the edges I added bamboo leaves, I stamped this onto a panel of Michaels 110lb card cut with blueprints 20 from mft. I haven't coloured with my copics for what seemed like ages and when I stamped the fushia flowers with memento they seemed a little dark do I stamped them off once and then used the second generation to colour.

Limited Crafting Supplies

Normally when I make a card I'm surrounded by all my stuff and I can use a bit of this and a bit of that but in Florida I have only my prismas and anything I buy whilst I'm there.

I have made some really good friends during my trips and I discovered one of them was celebrating a birthday on the day I got home so I wanted to make her a card, problem is how do I do that when I don't have all my stuff. When I put this perplexing question to my hubbie he just looked at me and said you've got loads of stuff to choose from how can you possibly not have enough here to make a card, I was a bit shocked to be honest and then I looked again and thought ok prove him wrong, prove that you need the all the stuff, well I didn't succeed in that lol. What I did succeed in was enjoying creating in a way I hadn't done in years. When I first started crafting I would see a card I liked and wanted to recreate and I would look through the stuff I already had and recreate something similar with my own personal spin. Nowadays I see a card and I buy everything to make that card, I still put my own personal spin but I still have to have everything to make it. But not anymore, I so enjoyed making this card I'm going to do this more.

I decided to try colouring on Kraft card with my prismas, I must say I really enjoyed this technique, I didn't bother blending with mineral spirits instead I let the pencils do the work. I enjoyed it so much I wanted to bring my pencils home with me lol.

Old Guys Rule

I'm still sad that Ladybug Crafts Ink closed last year, I didn't discover their fab images until the closing don sale and I'm so pleased I grabbed this one. I thought with the guys in my family getting older it would be good to have some snoozing blokes in chairs lol.

As its a special birthday I made a largish square card, I love the A2 card size but for special birthdays it feels a little small, however I am now so used to using the blueprints I forgot how to use my perfect layers and a ruler and knife lol. I wish they made blueprints in larger sizes as well.

Paper: "note to self" Echo Park from Jessica Sprague
Card: "elegant evening" paper trey ink and "red' paper mill
Dies: Square staxs 1 and 2, postage border and mini tabs all MFT
