Funky Flowers Version 2

This is the second version of the Funky flowers card and I think I prefer the backing card on this one, it seems to make the colours pop more. I didn't leave myself enough room for the same sentiment though so I had to find one that fitted. Next time I will use my "press and seal", in card making there is always a lesson to be learnt.

Funky Flowers Version 1

This idea has been floating around my head since I first saw this stamp set. Its not a set I would normally gravitate to but I could see so many possibilities.

I didn't however buy the dies as I thought I could probably cut them out faster than line them up lol.

I have been taking part in the "daily marker" 30 day colouring challenge and I coloured these a few days ago and decided they needed to be made into a card before I get overtaken by coloured images lol.

i have actually made two cards almost the same and at the same time so expect to see that one soon, I am trying to build up my depleted birthday card stock, so far Im not succeeding lol.

Monster Chill

This is another of the 30 day colouring challenges images made into a card. I succeeded in using stamps from lots of different companies and even surprised myself by how much I enjoyed it. I think challenges like this are great for inspiring and I am hoping that when the next one rolls around I will feel confident enough to post on the "dailymarker" Instagram hashtag.

I wasn't sure how to best display this image and then I had an idea to use the stencil and create a sunburst, I was originally going to cut the monster with a circle but no size seemed to fit properly so I went a different way.

I stamped the sentiment before the second layer of ink was completely dry and it has blurred a bit, it actually gives a very cool effect in real life, a happy accident if you will.

Ingredients

Floating Along version 2

As I mentioned in a previous post I though it would be a good idea to recreate the girl floating in the pool into a slider card, omg this was more complicated than I expected. I think I've cracked it though and you might see more, maybe not lol. I also had the bright idea to add a beach ball too, never again, to sliders on one card = nightmare lol.

I made the pool a darker colour as I felt the smoky slate in the previous card was too light. I also ended up with nowhere to put a sentiment so thats going on the inside instead.

Floating Along Version 1

I had already coloured this stamp in rainbow colours when I saw Amy Rysavy's video and I thought I need to make that card without the shaker element. I love shaker cards but mine always, always stick to the edges and never shake, I've tried all the tricks but it just won't work for me 😟.

Since I finished the card but before I had managed to take a photo I showed my crafty friends and one of them fell in love with the girl image and as its her birthday this month I thought I would recreate this card but make the girl slide, so look out for that version soon.

Dino Roar - Gently

Another of the third birthday cards is made, this is the only boy card in amongst five girl cards I have to make. I was going to use the same layout as the dolls pram cards but I decided to go with a more angular feel.

I was very happy with the hair colouring on this one, I do love colouring the greeting farm stamps and mostly for the hair lol.

Oliver is into Dinosaurs but not the scary kind more the "good dinosaur" kind so I have tried to make his card non scary but still have dinosaurs on it.

Stoked

I wanted this set as soon as I saw it, I love making male cards and I thought this set would be perfect but I already had a few unused sets and I was trying to be good so I didn't buy it. Then Michelle and Debbie made amazing cards with the drummer and it was getting harder to resist. I decided if I saw it whilst I was in Florida it was destined to come home with me, well I didn't see it and I was bummed so I popped it in my Seven Hills basket and decided to wait until I got home to order. Then the lovely Michelle had a sale on her blog (if you've never bought from her I highly suggest it.  I have so many sets that are just perfect) and she had the stamps and dies, I don't think I've sent an email so quick, in fact I have no idea what else she had for sale lol.

I had to make a card as soon as I got home, normally I have horrendous jet lag and although I have a bit it nowhere near as bad as normal and my mojo seems to have returned too.

Big Sister

My friend for whom I made the baby card earlier this week already has a little girl and I thought it would be nice to make her a big sister card, Ive no idea if you can find these in shops but that is the advantage of making your own lol.

I went with a tried and tested, simple design and as my mojo is still on holiday I hoped it would turn out ok.

All our Dreams - New Baby Girl

A very dear friend had a baby last week so I had to make her and her family a card to celebrate. I went for my "new baby" design card, all I seem to do is change up the papers and image.

Nit wit recently released new baby papers and I thought the colours would be perfect for a baby girl, now my friend isn't a fan of pink but her daughter might turn out to be lol.

I used a stamp from the "baby" clear set Lili of the Valley retired last year, it is the same as the rubber version just slightly smaller.

WTFF - What the French fry

I'm occasionally pleased with the cards I make but this one I'm very happy with and that happens very rarely lol.

I had a concept in my head and it's exactly as I pictured it. I've liked this stamp set for a while but it was the queen enabler herself that made me buy it. Jennifer McGuire put up a video showing it paired with another set to make cute characters and I knew I had to have it. Luckily for me Dies to Die for a UK based store just got the set in, I wish they had the other one as well but I can wait.

I inked the entire white panel with festive berries and then added the stencil and deepened the colour, it gives a subtle but I think effective pattern. I had added a circle cut with a post it note as the centre on the stencil wasn't large enough, once the red was dry I added the yellow.

After that I simply added the French fries on an action wobbler, I was going to use googly eyes but this worked out better.

Ingredients
Image and Sentiment: "Happy Meal" Your Next Stamp
Stencil: "sunburst" Stamposaurus
Distress Inks: "fossilised amber and festive berries"
Dies: Blueprints 13 and stitched circle stax both MFT

Card: "True Black" Papertrey Ink

Born to be Wild

I have been looking for a motorbike stamp for quite some time and when I saw this at Newbury craft show on Saturday I couldn't resist. They had a show special buy one get one half price so I couldn't resist getting two lol. The other one though you will have to wait a while to see as I bought it for hubbies birthday next year lol, nothing like getting organised and I'm nothing like organised lol.

I also purchased four stencils from their stall as I bought one last year and it was lovely quality, I just went to their site but they don't seem to have them listed on there, hopefully they will as I think they would sell lots.

As I unpacked the stencil I thought the paper used as the packaging would be prefect for the road, I remembered that I had used it last year so I used it again, this is recycling at its best.

Ingredients
Image and Sentiment: "motorbike" from Stamposaurus
Dies: "road" and blueprints 1, 2 and 27 all MFT
Stencil: "grill" Stamposaurus
Card and Ink: "gravel grey" from MFT, black is left over packaging from the stencil

Creative Stamping Music No2 - Mixed Tapes

I just had to use this image from the magazine, it reminded me of my youth and the"mixed tapes" we gave our crushes and friends, yes my dear friends I grew up in the era of taping top of the pops on a sunday night, buying 12 inch discs for the pretty pictures and rats tails. For those of you not lucky enough to be a teenager in the eighties in the UK I will elaborate on the phenomenon that was rats tails, you let a small portion of your hair at the back be longer than the rest, your hair needed to be cropped to the neck otherwise it just looked like your hairdresser missed a bit lol. You cultivated the growth of said piece of hair and if you were able to you plaited it or put tiny little elastic bands in it. Mine grew to a fine length of over seven inches before it got the chop, I did miss it when it was gone but by then the next fad had appeared, although for the life of me I am at a loss to remember what it was, probably too traumatic to want to recall lol.

Anyway you didn't come here for an eighties history or her story lesson so on with the card, as you an probably see it was fairly easy, I matched the colours of the tapes to the papers, cut the paper to match the angle of the stripes and bish, bash, bosh its done.
