Dancing Practice

My friend's daughter turns 18 today, I remember her being born and the first time I saw her like yesterday. My friend suffered with horrendous indigestion during her pregnancy and the old wives tale is that the baby will have lots of hair, well Emily arrived with an Elvis quiff so that tale came true lol.

I just wanted to wish this beautiful inside and out young woman a very happy 18th birthday and that I hope all her wishes are answered.

Kanban Lucy

When these stamps were released they weren't easy to get hold of and I coveted them from afar, over the years I purchased a few sets from eBay but not this particular one. A dear friend mentioned a sale at "care curd crafts" so off I went to look and she had both sets for 60% off so it would have been rude not to buy them both lol.

During my recent stamp cataloging I was shocked to discover I have used every set of Kansan stamps at least once, thats not something you can say for most manufacturers.

Inspired by Jennifer McGuire

Its unusual for me to watch a video and then have all the supplies to recreate a card but this was one such occasion. Ok, so I didn't have the clarity stencil brushes so I did the ombre dark to a lighter colour rather than white but I still enjoyed it and who knows maybe I might buy the stencil brushes lol.

Magical Friends Take 2

I knew that I couldn't make another shaker card like version 1 as this one is going through the post, in fact all the girl cards are being posted so I think this will be the final design.

Of course there has been another set of these stamps released and of course I need them so I might change the ponies but not the overall design.

Mother's Day 2017

Yet again I am late showing these cards but I wanted to make sure that both had received them before I showed them on here. Last year in time for the US mothers day Mo Manning released two uber cute images and I knew I wanted to use them for this year.

My major problem is remembering that I have them to use, I seem to buy with an idea in mind then when that birthday/occassion comes around I use something else, there has to be a system that works lol.

I made both cards the same just used the girl for my mum and the boy for MIL.

Magical Friends Take One

As in previous years I'm starting the batch making of cards for the littles, this year the six are all 4, so it's going to be a "my little pony" year lol.

This first card is a shaker but as the rest need to be posted they are going to be flat versions of this one, also for this one I went with reds and yellows and I did check if ponies like these exist in the MLP universe before I coloured them. The favourite colour of this little one is red so I had to find ponies that were mostly red. I'm hoping she approves lol.

This card has been fermenting in my mind for months and it looks almost like I pictured it.

Matryoshka Dolls

I have always liked nesting dolls and when I met my friend I was shocked and delighted to find someone else who liked them too.

I bought this stamp set for this one image although I like the others too but just not as much. I decided to go with a bright and colourful card as all the nesting dolls I own are bright and cheerful.

Making Cards - Birthday Bears Version 4

This is the final card of the four, now I made two mistakes on this card, number one I meant to use the last of the four bear stamps but didn't and two the sentiment needed some colour. However, despite the obvious mistakes I still like the card, in fact I liked all four and wish I had made more.

I am not sure this is a technique I will be replicating in the future but I sure hope it is as it was fun and fast.

Making Cards - Birthday Bears Version 3

The third version of this card, I changed the border edge but that is all I did change. It is amazing to me though that just changing the colours has such an effect on the look and feel of a card, the sentiment pops more on this than any of the others just because of the colour of the background.

One more to go, I hope you aren't bored of them yet, cos I am certainly not bored of making them lol.

Making Cards- Birthday Bears Version 2

Ok so I tried the trial to make two cards each time I sat down to craft in January and I failed miserably lol, I knew I would as its not my normal style of crafting, however the making cards magazine arrived, I saw a card idea and I made four, yes you heard that right four cards, the same but different. Now you could be forgiven for thinking this is an April Fools joke but I assure you it is not.

This is version two which apart from the bear being different is almost identical to version 1. This bear is uber cute and deserved to be used before being filed away never to see the light of day again lol.
