super splat

I can't believe I am still on a roll with this stencil, it must surely be my most used stencil by a long stretch. 

I am still working my way through the huge amount of already coloured images and trying to make quick and easy cards so next year doesn't feel as stressed as this year did, although to be fair the virus made this year more stressful than cardmaking did. 

This image has been coloured for years so I have no idea what i used to colour him but I do like the shine on his hair lol.

Mothers Day 2021

I have been a bit obsessed with the new colorado craft company stamps by Anita Jerram and wanted to purchase a few, whilst on a call with some friends i mentioned this and that they looked similar to a free set I had received years ago, of course I then went on a hunt and found this stamp. The style is very similar but I don't even know which magazine it came from. 

I have used that sketch again and you wont have seen the last of it either, obsessed is definitely the right word. This card was for my mother-in-law and she loves purple.

For my Mums card i went a completely different way and recreated a card I made for a friend back last year, I did colour the cat to look like one of my mums and it looked even better than I could have hoped.

A New Grand-baby

This might look identical to the last baby boy card because the name is almost identical but this was for my good friend's first grandbaby and was made and sent all the way to Connecticut. 

This image and style is my favourite for new baby cards and there are quite a few new little ones due in the coming months so I am sure you will see this style again.

Another Obsession

So I might sound like a broken record soon but I love this sketch lol. A crafty friend challenged me to make a card using this sketch and this was the first one I made but I can assure you it’s not my last, in fact this sketch seems to have replaced my rainbow stripes phase lol.

Anyone else get stuck in a creative rut and then something strikes you out of it and you get tons of ideas but in reality you just move to another rut. That has happened to me a lot in the last year, even though I’m chatting a lot to my crafty friends I am not seeing anyone in person and that is taking it’s toll. I am hoping to meet a few crafty friends soon and I am very excited about that.

Ok on to the card, it’s fairly simple and I let the image take centre stage. Also it’s not an A2 card, I found a few in a pack from Michael’s and they are slightly larger so I am going to use them up rather than just store them.

Camper Van Birthday

When you find yourself stuck creatively do you also look at past makes and think I will make that again. 

This time the major change was that I cut the polaroid coverplate on my cricut but other than that the card is the same. I did enjoy making it and I have heard from the recipient that he loved it and kept it lol. At the end of the day the person being pleased that I made them a card is my whole reason for making them ion the first place.

Coffee with Friends

Wow I can’t believe I made this card last year and forgot to post it, I had bought some chocolate for my neighbour who wasn’t able to get out and I wanted a card to let her know that I was missing coffee and cake in person with her, we were still meeting virtually but it’s wasn’t the same. Of course when I made this we still thought it would be all over in a few weeks not realising that a year later we would still be in it. 

Pet Sympathy

This is a very difficult type of card to make and not one I like to do but one that is necessary to let someone know they are in your thoughts.

I was hoping to find my pawprint die for the aperture but it seems to have disappeared, although it could be on my desk as its such a mess in my craftroom anything is possible.

I have thought maybe I should make a few backgrounds and then add the image of the pet afterwards as it is always so difficult to do at the time, having stock cards ready to personalise has been a dream of mine for years but I never seem to work any closer to achieving it.

Not my Usual Stamps version 2

The second image I used from the colouring pages was this one and I love her aqua eyes. These images are an absolute joy to colour and there will be more over the next few days as I think I have used them on pretty much all the little girl cards.

I also used the mermaid tail stencil from MFT, now its not called that it has a pretty boring name but as I think it looks like a mermaids tail thats what I am calling it. I am also still obsessed with Kitsch flamingo distress and by the time this publishes there will be a new colour available....wonder what it was lol.

As I already had everything out to make the 21st card I thought lets go ahead and make a 50th card I need later in the year. 

I do love a good tried and tested design and although this won't work for all the big birthdays this year it works for this one.

Maybe I should make a few of the ones I need for 2022.....now thats just a pipe dream lol.
