Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge Card

I don't know about anyone else but when I first saw sketches I was more than a little anxious, and here I am now looking forward to the next one. I find my mojo returns with a passion when I see a ketch I like and once I start I can't stop. I loved this sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday and will be using it again and again and again.

I needed a card with a cat on for my Mum's friend who rescues cats. This lovely lady likes pink and blue and cats was the brief. Hope I have fulfilled this. Used an image from Digistamp Boutique called Spencer and the papers are a freebie from Zoe Pearn. I saw Donna's card and decided to use the idea of the sentiment around the image.

A Card ...but not for a challenge

Sometimes you just fancy making a good old fashioned not many layers no sketch to follow card. I used a free image from Bugaboo and coloured with my trusty copics. Did make a boo-boo on the ball and coloured one too many sections so I printed him again and cut out his arm and the ball and paper pieced them on, didn't think maybe they would have worked with foam pads lol.

No Cards but lots of Parcels

Yesterday felt a bit like Christmas as I fabby parcels waiting for me when I got home from work. I had a bit of a spending splurge on the weekend and all of it arrived yesterday. Hubbie said he seemed to be back and forth to the front door all morning.

So what did I buy....I bought the set of 12 pale copic sketch, they came in a huge box and under the layers and layers of wotsits and bubble wrap was this little box containing my pens. Absolutely fab pale colours and can see these being widely used.

Next up was my ATG gun, was a bit worried that I would find this to big and heavy but it felt really natural and nowhere near as heavy as I imagined. Made a card in record time with it too, no more looking for the edge of the dst for me. It was such a bargain as well less than a tenner with free postage from the 3M site.

Well better get myself off to work, busy week, hopefully will be able to play with my goodies again tonight.

Another Challenge Card

I am on a roll now, just finished this card which is for my MIL to give to her brother. He loves fishing and I thought of him as soon as I saw this image.I have just checked the website for the name and there is 50% of this image at the moment and at full price it is a bargain. Used my cuttlebug embossing folder on this one, have just rearranged my craft room so that the cuttlebug is on display and may find I use it more often. I love the effect but must say I am not an expert with it. Must spend more time looking at all the tutorials.

LOTV Challenge

Its another week and I finally had a chance to play on the weekend. I only managed to complete one card but have been working on quite a few. I love challenges with a sketch takes the problems of where to place everything away. This sketch from Lili of the Valley Challenge Blog was a lovely one to follow and I can see myself using it often. Used the gorgeous Baby Girl stamp and coloured her with copics. I have finally ordered the set of twelve pale sketch markers, have had the money for two months but couldn't bear to part with it lol. In the end hubbie said it will disappear on other stuff if you don't buy what you really want, so took the plunge, just need to be patient until they arrive now lol. I have had a bit of a spending weekend and also bought an ATG tape gun, it was reduced on the 3m website and thought I spend so much on tape runners that never work that I may as well take the plunge and buy something decent. Will let you all know how I get on with it.

A very happy mothers day to all in the UK. Hope this scheduling thingy has worked cos will be on my way to visit both my mum and MIL today.

Made a few more cards yesterday with the new Pink Petticoat images, didn't follow a sketch just played with the papers til I was happy. Have used left over papers from a card I am making for my friends birthday but won't post it until after her birthday in case she peeks. I just realised how often I use these particular papers lol.

I bought the new papermania scallop punch when it first became available and I must say I love it. Excellent value for money and I love a bargain. There are a few more in the set so may just buy the lot.

It's Saturday - Yay

I love Saturdays, always have always will, it's the only day of the week when you don't have to go to bed early, I know you could argue this about a Friday night but I am always shattered after a busy week so Saturday is my late night of choice.

I made a card last night with a new download from Pink Petticoat, it is on special offer at the moment but it finishes tomorrow. I have tons of Pink Petticoat kits and everything on this card, except the gems and backing card is from there. This is a quicker version of the card I made the other evening and I couldn't work out what was different except then I saw the ribbon still lying on my desk and I thought aarrggh, too late to try and put it on now.

Matching Coloured Gems

No card today, I have been making a few - last minute requests, so last minute I forgot to take a photo, oh well I hope the person likes them.

I have asked my mum to provide a list of all the cards she needs to the end of the year, I know there will be a few add ons but its only March and already she has added about ten to the list lol.

The last card I made needed gems or pearls to finish it but I had used my last black gems on the card before and I remembered someone saying they used their copics to colour the gems. So I dug out some clear gems and started playing. Wow oh wow it works brilliantly. They don't colour as deep as you may think but if you use the darkest colour pen they are perfect. I did try on pearls but the colour dried streaky so will try again and let you know. They work best on the clear but not arora gems, and they work especially well on the cheap ones so its a bargain as well.

Hope that you are all having a great week and remember its Friday, those of you old enough to remember may well say " Thank crunchie its Friday".

Will be back later with a card, ttfn.

Another Day another challenge (well five actually)

I have enjoyed a really crafty weekend and have made quite a few cards, had to make two for Mum and MIL and couldn't decide what to do so made a few others in between.

I have followed the Sketch Saturday Sketch although the image is supposed to be round ( hope you can forgive my interpretation).

Have used an image from Bugaboo that was a friday freebie a few weeks ago. The image was a joy to colour and the whole card came together really quick. Used the woodware fluffy stuff again still loving it.

Cupcake Challenge Card

I decided to use this cute image from Whimsie Doodles and found a paper from my extensive (can never remember all the ones I have) digi paper stack that had jelly beans on it. Have gone with the circles theme from the cupcake challenge. Not entirely happy as should have made the card blank a circle as well but have used circle paper, circle image and spot and dots embossing folder.

Emboss: Spots and Dots Cuttlebug Folder

Mothers Day Card For My Mum

Its Mothers Day next week in the UK. I have been busy making cards for my Mum and MIL. I have posted my Mum's card but can't post my MIL's as she sometimes checks my blog. My Mum is yet to join the twenty first century and get connected to the www. I have used the adorable Two Jill from Mo, as soon as I saw this image I knew that it would remind my mum of me. I have made an easel card but don't have a camera to show the inside. I am loving making easel cards at the moment and don't seem to be able to stop lol.

I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp challenge which is Mothers Day or Girly.

Mmmm...Beer - Just needs some Peanuts

Yup you guessed right another bloke card. I seem to be making loads at the moment as it seems most of the birthdays until May are guys. I have also used bought, yes bought not printed papers for this one as well.

I ordered the do-crafts goody bag for the first time as they had an exclusive stamp set that try as I might I couldn't get anywhere else. So I thought I can always sell the rest of the stuff as I probably would never have bought it but I have changed my mind now it has arrived. Used the paper pack, dewdrops and adhesive squares on this card alone.

Image is coloured with the usual copics but have then gone all out with the glossy accents on the glass and used woodware fluffy stuff for the froth. I bought the fluffy stuff especially for the image and it was so much fun watching it puff up, I did burn it a little but it just enhanced the effect. You will be seeing more fluffy stuff soon as I feel an addiction starting, it feels like watching embossing powder for the first time.

I have entered this card for the Allsorts challenge which is to make a card "just for men", hopefully this fits the bill. The prize is money to spend at the Digistamp Boutique and there is a sneaky peek of a new image which i will be purchasing as soon as it is available.

Auntie Birthday Card

I don't know about anyone else but I love making cards for my family. Even though I know that they don't necessarily appreciate all the love and hard work that goes into the card I still enjoy it and this card is no exception. I made some cards for my uncles partners after christmas and used the apples and almonds papers from Summer Driggs my Mum's sister saw them and loved the colour combinations so I thought I would make a similar but more elaborate card for her.

I have used loads of Golden Rod stickles and even a ribbon and attempted a bow, you can't see this clearly in the picture as the scanner flattens it, really must get my camera fixed.

Paper: Summertime Designs " Apples and Almonds"
