Super Twila Reveal Wheel

Well thats an unimaginative blogpost title isn't it, but it is exactly that card that I created. I am all out of witty titles at the moment so I thought why not state the obvious lol.

I have wanted to make another reveal wheel card for a while now and this design popped into my head and I couldn't sleep until I made it.

I started by covering the background in oxides and then when I went to darken the sky I realised I don't have the darker colours in oxides so I used normal distress inks. I could have ordered the oxides but I was too impatient to wait for them to arrive lol.

The girl is on an action wobbler as well so it is a fully interactive card, I might change it a little for the other 6 year olds as those cards are posted lol.

Penny Black Number Bears Again

Sometimes I think if it ain't broke don't fix it should be my mantra lol, it certainly is in the case of the big birthday cards for ladies, I used this design for two 40 cards two years ago, a 30 card last year and now 2 more 40 cards. it of course doesn't work as well for guys but still having something that I can go to for these occasions certainly helps.

Not much else to say except I used papers that had fallen out when I was looking for something else, they were loose as they were a free gift from lawn fawn, whenever you order direct from them they include a small stamp and a few papers, normally 12x12 cut down. I don't think I have used them before but I might be mistaken, they were lovely quality just like you expect from them.

Ingredients

Happy Days

This stamp set from the Greeting Farm contains two images, a boy with dinosaurs and this girl, I have used the boy several times but I had never inked up the girl until now. She is so cute I am beginning to wonder why I have never inked her before....oh yes I have so many stamps I forget what I have lol.

Lately all the cards I seem to be making are following the same pattern, previous designs I am replicating or clean and simple....again its the case of too many cards needed and not enough time.

New Home

Very good friends of ours have just moved nearby and I wanted to welcome them with a card, now I have never made them a card before so I was a little nervous of what they would think but I didn't need to worry as they loved it.

I used this image and technique last time I made a new home card and I liked it so much I decided why change something that isn't broken.

Another card that looks simple but was anything but, three attempts it took to add the keys to the background as I kept getting the spacing wrong, an embossing folder would have been so much easier.

Mice Memories

Hunky-dory stamp sets keep getting better and better, late last year they launched a few with these mice and I had to buy two of the three sets as I thought they were so cute. They remind me of the LOTV mice I used to buy years ago. I kind of like mice stamps but not real mice....well not ones that are in my house anyway. Not that this house has any but I have lived somewhere where we had mice...thats a story for another day though as its very long.

Quite a simple design, one I've used before but still one that I think works well. This paper pad has been used so much and mostly for this one paper I am so glad I bought the digital version so I can print it whenever I want to.

Pawfect Birthday

The inspiration for this card came from Blogland but for the life of me I can't remember if it was one card or multiples that sparked the idea. I do know that I found the stencil whilst looking for the MFT radiating rays and I think this one works pawfectly....do you see what I did there....I am so corny lol.

I was going to try and get away from the grey cat card for my friend and last year I succeeded but this year I thought why fight the urge. Her favourite colour isn't orange however whenever we go anywhere where there are clothes she is instantly drawn to anything orange its so funny.

Enough waffling Amanda people came to see the card, its simple, but it wasn't quick and I hope she likes it.

Drummer Boy

This is kind of like my idea of two cards one sitting but not quite, I already had most of these pens out after colouring the second CC designs monster so I decided to just use them for this image before I put them away. I am so glad I did as this isn't a colour scheme I would normally have used for this image but I think it works.

I am still behind with my crafty makes, I was away until NYE and then when I got home I got the dreaded lurgy. As I am writing this post I have just started antibiotics as I've been ill for over three weeks and my simple cough/cold has become sinusitis.

Art Attack

I am trying very, very hard to use some of my stamp sets I have had for a while. I am running out of space and before I buy more I need to look at some of my unused sets. I am a natural hoarder and although I am now able to let go of other stuff, stamps are not something I can do yet.

I also hold onto background trials and this is one of those, it has been in my caddy for ages so I decided I needed to use it before I bin it lol.

Other than that its a fairly simple card, I kind of wish I had put more colour on the brushes but sometimes I'm too literal.

Ingredients
Image and Sentiment:
Dies: wonky stitched rectangle and crealies XXL stitched inside out circles.
Background stamp: "marble" from MFT

Almost Silhouette Cards

I revisited a technique that Jennifer McGuire showed last year and I was about to colour the images with a black pen when I looked at them and thought I like them as they are. These are quick, easy but I think effective birthday cards and they are flat to post to lol.
