Snowy House

I blame Jennifer McGuire for this card, I saw one she made last year and I had to buy the die set. It was my intention to make these for my neighbours but I only made the one and its for my Mum lol.

It took a lot longer than I anticipated and I also discovered that I don't have any white glitter card so of course I need to order that now lol. I found some old pearl card and I used that for the snow parts. In real life it works really well and I hope my mum liked it.

One more sleep and I hope that this year everyone gets to celebrate with their loved ones in person and not just via zoom.

Sweet Chocolate

Todays is my friends birthday and I know the card has reached her so I can show it on here. I saw a similar card on instagram and I didn't have the die so I made the chocolate squares on my cricut and cut them out, each one is three layers thick to give the illusion of real chocolate. The card stock is not as dark as my camera has made it look and in real life its more milk than dark chocolate.

The funny story attached to this card was that after I made it and showed a friend during a call and she said, why hadn't I used my die and I said I didn't have one and she said yes you do so I went to look (to prove her wrong of course lol) and she was right lol.

Deer Bauble

I was determined to use this stencil from inkylicious and also the silhouette stamps from issue 100 of creative stamping. This card came together so quickly I was amazed and again I wish I had made more of this design.

Every year I say I wish I made more of each design and I rarely revisit them so maybe my resolution should be to make more of this years designs ready for next year so I am not so stressed.

More Gnomes

After I used the free gnomes from Creative Stamping I bought the full set from Crafters Companion, I really love the way these ones are drawn and they are a decent size too. I had a few snowglobe backgrounds left over so rather than waste them I used them for these cards.

I hope you are all ready for the big day, I have delivered all my cards and presents and am just waiting for the turkey to arrive and I am done.

HoHoHo

A friend gave me this die last year and I was wondering how to put it together when I spotted a snowflake background left over from the Merry Christmas cards I made previously. It worked so well I am surprised I only made two of these. There is always next year I suppose lol

O Christmas Tree

Now when I decided this was going to be my playday friends card I really didn’t look at how much colouring would be involved and I also didn’t factor in that I would have a week to make 20 of them. It wasn’t an ordinary week either as after being ill with bronchitis for 6 weeks I was finally better and had several catch ups planned lol.

After all that I am pleased with how they came out I tried to colour the dogs and cats slightly differently and have input a few different styles below.

Its the last Sunday before christmas and that should mean that I am all ready but unfortunately I am not, maybe next year will be different.

Cat in the Tree

I bought this stamp set last year and I have only just tried it out, it was a lot of fun to colour and I made two to represent my friends beloved kitties.

I have so many cat stamps now I think it might be my new obsession lol.

Tonight I am celebrating with my girlie friends and I hope we all have a lovely time so I might be quiet tomorrow as I will probably have a hangover lol.

Flaming Dragons

Yesterday you saw the Welsh version of this card and today its the turn of the non Welsh version, of course the dragons still needed to be red and I have used almost all of the images in this set. I do like this bauble stencil from inkylicious too and this might be a new favourite

Nadolig Llawen

In case you were wondering nadolig llawen is merry Christmas in Welsh. I was so pleased when I saw that Clearly Besotted had included that on their flaming festivities set. Of course I had to colour them in red like the Welsh flag, I have made a few non Welsh versions too.

Creative Stamping Penguin

Issue 100 of this magazine was jam packed with two a4 sheets of christmas images and sentiments, in fact even if I wasn't subscribed I would have bought this one. Most of the images were from Crafters Companion and a decent size too.

I have previously been using the normal distress inks for the background but I think I might need a reinker for the prize ribbon as its looking worn out so for these backgrounds ( there are a few) I decided to use the oxides instead.

Magic Blue Shoes

Woohoo the last and definitely my favourite colour combo for this card, I just love the almost denim look to them.

I will say that writing these posts makes me want to bust out the stamp set and use it all over again. I have lots of birthdays in January that would like this design so maybe once I have finished the christmas stuff I will get started.

Hope all your christmas preparations are well under way, I like to think I am organised but I am running around like a headless chicken and there are still 11 days to go lol.

Magic Green Shoes

Wow its a while since you saw one of these cards but here I am with another. I really enjoyed batch making this last year and I did get obsessed with quite a few things, I wont list them all as I know I will forget at least one and writing them makes me want to do them all again especially the rainbow stripes lol.

Not my Usual Stamps Version 5

The last of the 8 year old cards for this year and I do like the colours on this one. Whenever I make the last one I always feel sad but I need to remember its only a few months and they will all start turning 9 lol. OMG what on earth am I going to do for that lol.

Gnomie Christmas

I finally used one of the creative stamping Christmas issues, I was hoping to have used more of them but there is always next year. These gnomes from polka doodles are so cute and as I had a few backgrounds left over from the playday cards I put them to use.

These distress inks have been my go to this year and I do love the combo, since I wrote this post I have made even more backgrounds and used the oxide versions too.

Snowboys

Cc designs is discontinuing their digi stamps this month and as they are 50% off I had to buy a few, of course that’s not unusual however using them this soon certainly is lol.

I printed all three of the snowboys set and also the winter snowman as it went so well with the others. I had some backgrounds left over so I decided to use them up and this is the result.

The sentiment is from issue 100 of creative stamping magazine and it’s so perfect I have used it a lot.

Twila Balloon

I might have already mentioned that CC Designs has a 50%off sale on all their digi stamps but it is such a good deal you can't afford to miss out. I am saddened that this is the end of the digi stamps at this site as I struggle to get the designs I want especially during the pandemic.

I used a very similar design earlier in the year for this lovely little ones big sister and I knew if nothing else it needed to shake. The sprinkles I found whilst looking for sequins and I am so glad I did because they make the perfect shaker card noise lol.

Snow Much Fun

Another image and sentiment from the Creative Stamping 100, see I said it was a cute set and this one is no exception. I went with two different colour schemes and I am not sure which one I prefer.

I have hopefully by the time this posts finished all my christmas cards but I am not sure if a curve ball or two have headed my way. Fingers crossed they are all made and sent.

Ring Around Christmas

My batch making hasn't stopped at all this christmas and here are another three examples of almost the same card but with the focal point changed for each recipient. I do wish I had stamped more panels when I had everything masked and ready to go but there is always next time.

I would have made more but the colouring took way too long and as I am running out of time I need quicker images.

Yeti in a snowglobe

I got this idea after buying the simply cards and papercraft magazine. I did cut the snowflake part out of the snowglobe but I had a blast using it.

I couldn't work out how to show the bottom of the globe so I drew around the whole thing, later on I realised that a bit of shaded lilac would be better but these cards were already made and posted.

By now I hope they have reached their recipients.

More Traditional and Elegant

For my older relatives I like to do a more traditional card, last years Gina K set was perfect for elegant and more traditional cards. I did stamp the bauble upside down but I am sure if I didn't tell you would you have guessed?

I also realised that I didn't own any gold mirror card so a quick trip to B&M and we were in business.

Snowflakes

I watched a video by Gina K using her large snowflake stencil and a heat embossed background and I had to give it a try. Of course I didn't have a background like the one she used and no matter which one I used they didn't work for me. I tried the woodgrain and I thought that's the one. I also had to use much darker inks than I expected to get the effect but I am pleased with how they turned out.

Not much else to say except expect to see much more of this blueprints 30 die lol.

Merry Christmas Version 2

This is the second set of cards and in these colour combos I made a lot. Every year I look for a nice flat design that I can make and send to my friends and family and this year this was it.

The main thing I changed apart from more traditional colours was the snowflake colour, I wanted them to blend into the background more and this grey worked perfectly.

Ingredients

Sentiment: Merry Christmas from crafters Companion

Snowflake stencil: gift from a friend last year

Inks: Wild Cherry from MFT, Cottage Ivy from memento and Limestone from Altenew

Card: white and colours from Michaels 65lb recollections range.

Merry Christmas Version 1

Woohoo its December 1st and I am starting my christmas card makes for 2021. I might not post everyday but I am hoping to be able to.

So the first card is one I made a lot of, not in these colour combos but in the ones you will see tomorrow.

My only trip to a craft store this year was to crafters Companion in Evesham and I spotted this large stamp and thought it would be perfect for flat cards for posting.

These were my first attempt with the stamp and I will say I like the other version better lol.

Sentiment: Merry Christmas from crafters Companion

Snowflake stencil: gift from a friend last year

Inks: Boysenberry and tropical teal both from MFT and shaded lilac and salvaged patina distress oxides
