A dear friend of mine is a huge Gorjuss and red fan so it seemed only fitting that both made it onto her card. I hope she has a wonderful birthday and gets spoilt rotten.

Art Attack

This card is one that evolved and took on a life of its own, I wanted to use the crayon from the simon says stamp set and I thought I'd seen a card using a mason jar to hold the crayons but i couldn't find it so I went my own way instead. Once I'd coloured the crayons in rainbow order I pulled out all my art stamps and discovered I have a few, and I liked the sentiment so that was sorted but the crayons looked a little lost so I scooped them up and thought I know the mason jar from lawn fawn. Originally this was going to be a completely white card but I decided to play with the abstract art set from MFT and I liked the look.

This may be hard to believe but this is my first set of spell binders nesties, I have several xcut and MFT. I bought them recently in the countryview crafts advent sale after a very good friend of mine told me what she got and I'm so glad she did as they were an absolute bargain.

Pretty Pocket

Its been a while since I've made a birthday card with mostly dies and no coloured image at all, I have been using my dies predominantly for my christmas cards it seemed only fitting to carry on with it. I've also used a couple of die sets that have been sitting unloved for a while, in fact I don't think MFT carry the pretty pocket set anymore, which is such a shame. I even have an idea for a male card with money sticking out.

Ingredients
Dies: Blueprints 1, pretty pocket and smart phone all MFT
Stamps: pretty pocket and Friend Request all MFT
Embossing: stampendous white and stampin up cherry cobbler
Background stamps: linen and western background (denim)

Skipping Santa

I finally used the plaid builder stamp set from MFT, I decided to try to create a more traditional christmas colour scheme, originally I was going to use a darker green but I like the fun brightness of this colour. I have ordered a grid paper pad so I can line the stamps better next time, I am a bit of a perfectionist and it bothers me that a few of them aren't  perfectly aligned lol.

The image is a digi from Birdie Brown but MFT now carry this as a stamp and die set so I didn't feel so bad posting it as I would have done if you couldn't get hold of it.

Playday Christmas Cards Take 1

For my crafty friends I always try and push my creativity, I don't always succeed but I do try. I love anything fair isle/holiday knit so when I saw the "holiday knit" stencil from Tim Holtz I knew I had to get it. I knew I wanted to use it on my christmas cards but how, I tried inking though it and although it looked cool I knew it wasn't the look I wanted. I have been cleaning my craft room and came across the texture paste I bought in the summer and even though this is an extremely intricate stencil I decided to give it a go. Its not perfect but I like the effect, I think the white on white is lovely but I wished I had used a coloured card base and maybe not had the paste so low on the card, but this is a first attempt as the title suggests so you will get to see my other tries over the next few days until I show you the final article.

Card: Recollections 110lb white
Dies: Blueprints 15 from mft and "happy" one liners from paper trey ink
Background: "Holiday knit" stencil from Tim Holtz and light modelling paste from Liquidtex.

Mini Bear

As a proud mini owner I couldn't resist this image, now my mini is a dark blue but my friend has one which is cream with black stripes, I tried to draw in the stripes but it just wasn't happening so I just went with cream instead. I"m still loving the blueprints 20 think this is my favourite set yet, of course until I get the next one lol.

I saw this card on Michelle's blog and I knew I needed that set. I love Michelle's clean and simple style and wanted to try to recreate something similar for my family christmas cards. Free magazine stamps

shhh...party animal resting

I'm ashamed to say I have owned this stamp since it was first released and I have never used it, this is the beauty of organising my stamps I can see what I have and unfortunately what I haven't used even once.

Sunshine on a Rainy Day

I don't know why but rainbows always make me smile and as soon as I saw the stripes on the stamps leggings I knew rainbow was the way to go. I bought a new large set from the greeting farm, I wanted the previous one but thought it was a lot of money but I must say they are worth it. Once I started on the rainbow scheme I couldn't seem to stop lol. I remembered I bought the rainbow die and cloud staxs from MFT so I decided to cut them both in white to see what they looked like. I coloured the rainbow with colics, the same colours as I used on the leggings, problem was I missed one colour so I had to leave one bit of the rainbow off.

Polka Dot Parade Trees

I'm still on my make two for one christmas card kick, it seems to be working for the moment so Im not going to stop and maybe, just maybe I might get them all finished.

my original idea was to create a shaker card and another with the die cut tree pieces stacked together but in the end I decided on inlaid die cutting as these create such flat cards, perfect for posting. In fact I enjoyed this so much I might make a few more in different greens.

Christmas Jumper

At last I've made a start on my christmas cards, every year I start with good intentions of making some in January but normally start in April/May but this year its October and I've made a grand total of 2, I think I might be buying some this year.

This card was quick and easy and the blueprints means that it came together super fast, maybe I should bulk make some. I'm not sure where the paper is from, I found it already printed in the snippet folder to be honest I'm not even sure its christmas paper lol.

I was worried that the sentiment would get lost on the busy paper but the die really holds it own, I'm very impressed with it and think I will be using it a lot.

Party Time

I like the style of cards that Mary makes but I struggle to make mine as cas but I knew as soon as I saw this embossing folder that it would work for this look.

I stamped the uptown girls but I masked off the part where they connect so I was able to extract the one girl, I thought she looked fab on her own and wanted to use her for this particular person's card. Not sure I would go to the trouble again though as it took three attempts and a lot of swearing lol.

Giddy Up Cowgirl

I'm trying to use some of my huge unused stamp collection, a bit like Darnell's NBUS challenge, except this is a challenge to myself. I'm sure I'm not alone in my crafty spending habits, the stamp you just had to have that sits unloved and unused in a drawer out of sight because you feel guilty every time you look at it, the paper packs that are still unopened and don't even get me started on card, I must have seven, yes seven packs of nearly identical card from several companies and still I buy more.

Anyway enough waffling onto the card, I have used a piece of the above mention card, all I'm going to say is it is a start lol and a stamp that I've had for a while, it was so nice to colour I began to wonder why I hadn't coloured it before. I hope I use her again soon (no promises mind lol)

Three little girls

This year I have made six first birthday cards for family and friends and I've tried to make them very similar, I thought this would make it easier but I think it sapped my creativity instead. As these last three cards are all very similar Im not going to do separate posts but group them all together in this one.

First one is an 8 X 8 and used "Robotz" cartridge for the name

For the next one I used "cherry limeade" both font and shadow

And finally I just used the "cherry limeade" font shadow for this one

Important News - Someone is 18 today

I finally used some of the goodies I got from the MFT retreat on this card, my friend's daughter is stationary mad, in fact she reminds me of me at that age, I told her it's just a short jump to crafting.

I decided to use the office supplies dies to create a clipboard and the insert it notepad fitted this perfectly. I went with the bright pink and yellow as they reminded me of highlighters and that was what I was trying to make the arrow etc look like.

I hope she likes her card and also has a wonderful birthday.

Birdbrain Card Sharks

After seeing a card on Jules blog I went looking at the "from the heart stamps" store and bought a few of the birdbrains, ok quite a few but they appeal to my sense of humour and are perfect for guy cards, and as you know I like making guy cards lol.

I made this one without anyone specific in mind, something I rarely get chance to do anymore. I used papers already in the snippet folder so another entry to the playground, I have played along a few times recently which means I must be reducing the snippet mountain...right?

PPpick up a penguin

If you are lived in Britain and grew up in the seventies then this title will mean something to you, penguin is a gorgeous chocolate biscuit and this was the slogan that went with the ad campaign. It's amazing how they get into your brain and everyday conversation, cuprinol for instance has "does exactly what it says on the tin" as their slogan and that is a popular saying in our house and it covers just about everything...anywho lets get on with the card stuff.

I adore Digistamp Boutique images, there is just something about them that makes me smile so I bought this little guy along with his arctic friends when he was on special offer. I couldn't wait to colour him up and get him on a card so I made two almost the same as it seems I may run out of time to make all my cards unless I start doing more of this.

I was trying to decide if I should paper piece the mug of this image but in the end the Copics won lol. I really enjoy colouring these images, not sure if it is because my hubbie is called Ant lol.

I found this paper in my stash and decided to base the whole card around it, I love this colour scheme and it made me want a large cup of hot chocolate.

Have cart will travel

I've used this card by Lisa as inspiration but until I went to link it I hadn't realised how alike they were. I saw her card and got an idea in my head and it's taken more than 6 weeks to actually make the card. I lost my mojo, my own fault, I decided to change my stamp storage and I became very overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff I have. I've gotten rid of a bit but once I've decided which bits to find new homes for I will add a for sale page on here.

I'm pleased I organised it as I know what I have and can find them easily, now the task is complete I feel invigorated and wanted to make some cards.

I've also been trying to use up all the printed card and paper scraps, it's a slow process but I'm hoping that eventually I will make a dent in it.

Birdbrain Chocolate Box

I found this digi stamp company after seeing a card on the lovely Jules blog, of course I had to get the chocolate one, it would appear that no matter what I can't stay away from chocolate. The sentiment was included and I think is a perfect one and is probably by life mantra lol.

I did do something I never ever do though and colour the image without knowing what papers I was going to use, I used to colour this way when I first started and then struggle to find papers to match which is why I changed but I was so eager to colour this one that I didn't even think about it. Luckily I had these papers in my snippet folder and they kind of match, well enough to get away with. I used the stampin up card which is a lovely colour but I always get the name confused with the pti version so I'm not sure if this is correct.

Chocolate a la Mode

I can't believe that this stamp was the start of my fascination with all things mft. I love anything chocolate related and had seen this stamp on a card and I knew I needed it. I looked in the UK but nowhere had it in stock so I decided to try ordering online and I had to order over $75 to qualify for free shipping so I added a few other items to my order and pressed to pay and I noticed that there was a charge for sales tax, I checked and discovered the store was in Florida and so an addiction was born lol.

Bellisima dress again

Of all the papermania stamps I have ever bought this has to be my favourite and most used, it is so easy to paper piece and I'm not even sure I have ever coloured it completely lol. I used very different papers to last time as the lady I made it for loves green, the stripes are also across rather than diagonal although I think I prefer them diagonal.

I've used black card from my snippet draw so I'm off to enter the playground challenge, I'm not a very good playmate at the moment because I don't seem to be using any snippets, hopefully I can resolve that soon.

Mini Cards Set 4

This is the last set of these mini cards for a while at least, I have enjoyed making them but I really need to get back to all the birthday and christmas cards I need to make before I discover it is Christmas eve and I still have a hundred left.

For this set I have made 6 cards as the stamp set had 6 images and I wanted to use them all, I've used a Stampin up hostess set from the last mini catalogue that I ordered from ebay.
