Acetate Flowers

These cards were the first ones I made using the technique Jennifer McGuire showed for acetate fronted cards. I really enjoyed making them and I hope to make more again, I certainly have enough different coverplates to try a few more times without repeating the same pattern lol.

The images were in my pre coloured drawer and I think they deserved to be on a card. I would like to say that all the cards I made last year using the pre coloured images made a dent but it really hasn't lol.

I do think I will have a look through again and try to use some more....i see more splat cards in my blog feed in the future lol

Acetate Bees Knees

I was in the acetate card front zone and I was looking at all my coverplates and this card just jumped into my head so of course I had to make it and I had the perfect person in mind too.

The stamps aren't mine but when my friend brought them to a crafty get together I knew I wanted them, on my next trip to florida I think they might fall into my basket lol.

The acetate cards were made after watching a jennifer mcguire video and they were so much fun to make, in fact I made four all different so expect to see the rest soon.

Remote Splat

Yet another of the splat stencil cards, I was certainly heavily in the splat zone when I made this one. 2020 did see me take a style and just run with it and I definitely made more cards than any other year and it helped me to have something to keep my mind occupied.

I am sure others felt the same way too and having a hobby that keeps your mind active whilst being able to send the finished project to someone to make them smile is what kept me going through some pretty awful unprecedented days.

This image was coloured too many years ago to even remember, I did buy him in the Kenny K closing down sale and its another company that I miss, his style was so different and geared towards those guy cards everyone loves to make.

The year of first birthdays version 2

Second of the 1st birthday boy cards and a return to my old faithful design and image. This little one has an older brother but I went with a different image for his 1st birthday card, it was still a Mo image but one with a train.

I used an echo park design paper and as his grandad loves trains I wanted them to feature somewhere on his card. I do love the green and aqua colour combo.

Not much else to say except I hope he has a wonderful 1st birthday.

New Baby Boy

As I am showing the year of first birthday boys I thought I should show the new baby card I made last year for my cousins first grandson.

I am still struggling that my youngest cousin on my mums side of my family is old enough to have a grandchild. Lets be honest when I picture her she is a toddler herself lol.

I used my tried and tested design and an image I am so happy I got as its my favourite and looks adorable coloured in either blue or pink. Last year there were no pink cards needed and so far this year the trend of blue is continuing.

Ingredients

Image: baby blanket from Lili of the valley
Dies: basic and scalloped edges, small scalloped circle and circle stax all mft, crealies xxl stitched squares
Card: sour apple from MFT

Sympathy card with Lillies

These are the most difficult cards to make and even more so when you need multiples for a family so need to use a different design. I used these lilies on a card a while ago and I thought they would be perfect for a different design than the butterfly card.

I never know what to say in these circumstances but I do want the recipient to know I am thinking of them.

Ingredients

Dies: elegant rectangle from MFT

Sentiment: brushed greetings 2 from Clearly Besotted

Cheers

I needed a guy card and my mojo was sadly lacking so what do you do, you go for an image and style up you know works and get started. This always seems to kickstart my failing mojo and for that I’m thankful.

I made this way back in October but I had forgotten to blog it and if I don’t  show it I will never remember I made it lol.

Hedgehog Birthday

Creative stamping is probably my favourite magazine and even though their images aren’t all cute I really like them. I knew who I was going to use this image for as soon as I saw it all I had to do was decide on a card design. Lately this decision hasn’t been an easy one, I don’t know if it’s the lockdown or just my lack of mojo but all I seem to be able to make are stripy cards and I didn’t want that for this one. In the end I found this background die and shaped star whilst looking for something else. I decided to cut them in white as I was just trying them out and I normally but those trials in white but this time I used them lol. I couldn’t decide on the card orientation so I tried both and I think both work, too late now as both have been sent out lol.

The Year of 1st Birthdays

There are 4 baby boys all turning 1 amongst my family and friends so you can expect to see their cards on here.

Normally I have a tried and tested design for these cards however I needed to change it up a bit as two of the boys have older brothers that I’ve used my tried and tested design for so I changed it a little lol.

This card however was the first one I needed and I went with an animal theme as that was the theme of his party, of course the party couldn't go ahead like his parents envisaged but he doesn't know that and I am sure we will make up for it next year.

Ingredients

Image: Kai redux from Mo's digital pencil

Dies: XXL stitched squares from Crealies, simple stitched hillside from lawn fawn, number from hobby lobby and letters from spellbinders

Card: Aqua mist from papertrey ink

Papers: baby boy from Echo park (snap click supply digi version)

Making cards stripes 3

The stripy cards aren’t ending anytime soon lol, I can’t seem to stop using these making cards images either. I am definitely obsessed lol.

The colour of this one is a change for me though and was because I had ordered the new distress colours and crackling campfire was just waiting to be used. In reality I only ordered it because it was reduced but I will admit to liking it a lot in real life.
